So sorry for your loss Lhok, big hugz for you

Oh Anne, so sorry to read this. Hugz for you.

My sister adopted a 6 month old kitten with the loudest purr you've ever heard, she named him Purrcy :)

 charming isn't it. Stan scares himself if they are loud, he might have to start sleeping in his Thundershirt

So sorry for your loss. Sending big hugz for you and yours.

My 21 month old pup does the usual things while asleep. She twitches, barks, snorts, chases easter bunnies etc. Tonight I heard a thumping on the floor, looked down to see the pup stretched out on her side deeply asleep and trying to madly wag her tail! Obviously something in her dream made her very happy  I've never noticed her doing it before! Does your dog wag in it's sleep?

I'm such a sucker for the wise faces of the oldies. So sorry for your loss Anna.

Before I brought my pup home she was chipped and registered by the breeder. The breeder had also submitted change of ownership paperwork to her local council. The breeder gave me the paperwork from the vet and the registration. My vet scanned her and confirmed the chip number. I waited until after the pup had grown some, and been de-sexed before I went to my council to submit my forms for lifetime registration. While there I asked her to fix the date of birth which had been entered into the database incorrectly by the breeder's council. I was told by my council that they don't have the level of access to alter date of birth. It's only out by 6 months, but it annoys me! The breeder should have noticed at the time, but I forgive her as she was in the middle of moving house and dealing with a family drama, and had more on her plate than checking all details on the registration papers. Does anyone know if I can get the date corrected somewhere? Especially as I have the original vet's paperwork. Or am I being anal .....

Awww, just love all the Easter pics! Thanks everyone I tried to do Christmas pics with my pup but it was a huge fail LOL, so I haven't bothered with Easter. Maybe when she is one year older and more obedient

Retractable leads have their uses with sensible owners. I use one every day with my 8 kilo girl. It's only used in a park where all dogs are to be leashed, and we are strolling among the trees, not on the paths that other dog walkers use. My girl doesn't do well in off-leash parks so this is a great solution that gives her freedom to check trees for weemails and have a good sniff around. It gets shortened to the point where I am holding the tape park of the lead and she is in heel position as soon as we leave the park.

Is the bathroom larger than the laundry (as a safe place when you are out)? Definitely don't crate her for long periods, but have the crate there for her if she want to use it. Toss an old t-shirt or trackies, that you haven't washed, into the crate. Your scent will comfort her. When my dog was young I tied one of those ribbed cylindrical Kongs to a table leg with elastic. I demonstrated for her and she took to the game! Tugging the toy, releasing and chasing as it zipped across the floor. But only have this when you are home to supervise. It might be a good idea to let the neighbours know that you have a new pup and not to be concerned if they hear her while she's settling in.

Does anyone know if Rouse Hill has a separate section for small dogs?

I so wish there was a doggy daycare in Sydney's western suburbs! It looks fantastic and Roo looks so happy. I've been following this thread with great interest and I'm delighted by the recent updates. Well done Jelly, Nekh, and Roo

I have the following dog foods that I won't be using and would prefer to donate to a rescue rather than toss out: * 1 kilo bag of Royal Canin (digestive security) Junior, for small dogs. It has a 'best before' date of 28/2/2013, unbroken seal. * 400 grms of VAN Complete Mix, purchased about 8 weeks ago and has been kept sealed in a tupperware container. * 6 frozen BARF patties, purchased 3 weeks ago and stored in the freezer. If anyone is interested in having these, I live in the Penrith area and am happy to deliver up to 40 minutes away.
