  1. f/2.8, I really want a 2.8 :) If you can get the mk iii with f/2.8 for $5300 Aussie stock thats a bargain. Make sure it's Aussie stock as I know JB deal in Grey now. Yeah I checked, all the in store stuff is Aussie, the grey is only online sales. hankdog - love both pics of Jake, he's a handsome little fella :) tlc - Tully really is very pretty JackC - not long now!
  2. Thanks tlc. What I really like about the 5D mkiii is the 61pt focus whereas the 6D is 11pt. I did look at the sigma lens as well, I think I am just too fussy I really like the canon. I have bargained JB down to $5300 for the kit I want, Aussie stock. I won't buy grey import for something this expensive, just not worth the risk IMO, I'm a worrier too. I think my hesitation is spending that much and only having one lens... but at the same time I've had my heart set on this for a while now and if I get something else I think I will feel dissapointed. I wish I knew people with the gear so I could try it out, would be so much easier than just trying to pick off the specs, internet reviews and in store. Maybe I should hire a few things and see what I like best.
  3. I'll try to take some pics on Saturday when I see her next and post them here for you :) There are BYB for Akita's too, I'm not sure where April was bred, sometimes the owners have actually forgotten where they got them and lost papers and it is very hard to find out. Sometimes they just don't care and don't want to tell you anything anyway. I wouldn't have thought it common place for a reputable breeder to sell an Akita puppy to elderly people though Apparently April is too big for them so they surrendered her... like yeah cos an Akita was never going to get big... Funnily enough April is the smallest Akita I have ever met.
  4. Good luck in the ring Clay! I'm sure he will do great, I think he's a stunner. tlc - Cooper, that shot is amazing, so he is a good boy when he gets all the attention but is rebel when he has to compete for attention with the others  I am just a bit jelly of your gear as well, I think I have finally had enough of my crappy setup, I'm hoping for 5D MK3 with 24-70 F2.8, it'll have to just be the one lens for now or I might need to start living on the street JackC and Koda welcome! He is adorable!!!! Love his markings. Can't wait to see pics of him whilst he grows - thanks for sharing :)
  5. The more the merrier I say! Would love to see some puppy pics... Especially since our resident thread puppy doesn't look like a puppy anymore Weibritty when will Clay's growth spurt stop!? I can't believe how big he is! Impatiens - Harvey looks very comfy on that chair and I'm loving the first shot in the Autumn leaves. hankdog - great expression you have captured of Jake tlc - the 3rd one and the last one are my fav's, Cooper is such a character he just has to be different
  6. Just to let you know, April was surrendered by her owners and arrived into rescue care yesterday... I am seriously in love she is sooooo sweet.
  7. 20/52 - Sixx (rescue) Sixx by Gertrude139, on Flickr
  8. I own K9 Pro Leather and Ruthless Leather, I have taken some photos so you can see the difference in leather and hardware. The bottom two are K9 Pro the top two are Ruthless. I bought K9 Pro initally after everyone raved about them saying it was the best leather ever. IMO it is the best leather $40 can buy. You get what you pay for. I wanted better so I ended up ordering Ruthless ones as well and am very happy with them. You will have to have some sort of 'studs' with a leather collar to hold the leather together, the difference is the K9Pro ones are only double leather at the end with the buckle where as the Ruthless ones are double leather the entire way for extra strength. Originally I was only going to put the Ruthless collars on for special outings to protect them but now they are on them most of the time cos I love them so much, I think they are holding up very well. Athena's has the aged brass treatment on the hardware so it will show scratches more but I don't mind, I knew that when I ordered it as it is clrealy stated on the website.
  9. Fallen behind badly there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the days at the moment. Haven't been taking many photos lately so a pretty poor selection from me I'm afraid... 17/52 - Archer (rescue) - already on trial Archie Archer Arch by Gertrude139, on Flickr 18/52 - Sakura (rescue) - sadly still not much interest in her. She's so sweet, such a cuddle bum with people and dog social to boot. Sadly the crosses always take longer than the more pure looking ones. Sakura by Gertrude139, on Flickr 19/52 - Athena - This was our first go at sledding, Athena is a natural and we had heaps of fun. Athena by Gertrude139, on Flickr hankdog - Jake's agility set up is great! No wonder its a favourite spot, after the couch of course! Impatiens - I really like how the over exposed one came out as well, beautiful light and shadow on Harvey's face. Weibritty - The second pic of Clay with his mum also cracks me up  I wonder what he was thinking. tlc - Cooper! love love love the first shot - did you ask them what the wind tasted like or something? :) Also like the pic from the week before with your OH and Cooper Clown
  10. I fed my sibe pup advance to begin with as thats what the breeder was feeding, she had ongoing dandruff issues which we could never resolve, tried all different types of oils, nothing would do it. When we switched her to adult advance she didn't like it and wouldn't really eat it so I bought her a bay of TOTW, which she goes nuts for, and her dandruff issue cleared up within 2 weeks of the switch. So sometimes a good food just doesn't agree with a dog anyway. My two fosters are getting Blackhawk at the moment and seem to be doing well on it. If he is doing well on the Blackhawk then I would stick with it, what he does best on matters most.
  11. Squeeeee! Cutest. Thing. Ever! I just want to give him full body huggles he is sooooo adorable
  12. 16/52 - Salt Salt by Gertrude139, on Flickr hankdog - lovely shots of Jake and your Daughter, looks like they are both having some fun there Weibritty - Clay is looking very mature now, I just love his colouring, the tone of his eyes, nose and coat they match so perfectly
  13. Great shots RV, wish I could take photos of my two playing this well
  14. I Fourth Ruthless, I just had two made with the names hand stamped into the leather, but nameplates was my other favourite option. They are amazing quality, look and feel great.
  15. He he I love bulldog in a box, that is so cute. tlc - the expressions in the first shot are great, also you have the best dog park ever!!! beautiful beach shot Impatiens, I can definitely make out the seagulls. Athena is indeed happy in her picture, the type of face she is pulling there is usually closely followed a comment along the lines of Athena Brat-face whatever you are thinking, don't. She is too smart for her own good, I look at this pic and I can see her mind ticking away. Brat-face has become her unofficial middle name, she even responds to it now
  16. 15/52 - Athena IMG_7090.jpg by Gertrude139, on Flickr Pheebs - Gorgeous shot of Maggie Impatiens - Harvey's eyes are telling me he loves his wubba but he is aware of the impending confiscation. He looks very puppyish in this one too.
  17. I have been using Paws for Life for a while now and always found their service very good, next day delivery. I don't use Black Hawk... but, my Mum just placed her first order with them 2 weeks ago, and she ordered Black Hawk, I think it took a week to arrive, we live at the same address to I don't know why delivery too so much longer for her. Perhaps they have changed something recently? Although my last order was only about a month and a half ago I think. Or perhaps this is an issue specific to Black Hawk?
  18. hmmmm I will go along but I don't think my two will be any good at it.
  19. I will definitely go, they have said they will have some spare harnesses to suit mally's so I might have a go if one fits my husky boy. I don't know though cos my girl is the one I think would be better at it, she is stronger and has a lot more drive and determination but she is only 14 months so she won't be able to participate. I think my boy would just stand there smiling wagging his tail having no idea what to do  are you allowed to wave a carrot in front of them to get them to move? On second thoughts he will prob just sit there woo wooing at me until the carrot is brought to him anyway. How did you start with Esky?
  20. Thanks Esky for starting this thread, I had been wondering where I could find out some more about weightpull. AMCNSW has just announced a weightpull event, Saturday 4th of May at Castle Hill showground, great for me, I can walk there! Weigh in 7am, comp starts 8:30am
  21. Awww even cuter Clay! I love outtake shots :) You can really see how much he has grown between those two shots. Looks like the rest of his body is still trying to catch up to his legs though :)
