  1. Please try not to smack her. She is still a pup and it will take her awhile to unlearn the couch (she'll never forget she used to be allowed on it). Try to remain positive training, and stick with it as inconsistency will confuse her further. Her own bed will help a lot, and you could consider crate training
  2. I want their backyard view! Yes and great pics of dogs, got to love seeing thm do what they are bred for
  3. takes about 6 weeks to flatten out to what it will be. Aside from the benefit of reduced leg cocking, the pee is less stinky (significantly) and his chances of prostate and testicular cancer also reduced. My boy who is on another thread pissing on dinner bowl used to pee on everything, it was greatly reduced after desexing, still a big marker but not as much. Now I just have to eliminate the dinner bowl episodes. This sounds like a middle aged male asserting himself after the visitors. 8 is not old for desexing, for your peace of mind you could have blood tests done to check. The vet will be able to advise. I would be much more concerned about cancer rates as an intact male, they are significantly higher
  4. glad to hear he isn't the only freak in the sideshow. Yes I usually get them straight away but juggling keeping a small child inside or with me and feeding a puppy at the same time in the kitchen he has had a few good blasts lately. Worst is when I can't see in the dark and have already picked it up... ewwww. I have tried feeding him out of the soiled bowl next day without thorough cleaning, made no difference. Hmmmn super soaker in summer would be effective but too cold now.
  5. Aside from the obvious of picking them up after feeding so this doesn't happen, anyone come across this and dealt with it. It is annoying because it is stinky Diesel desexed at about age 5 is the culprit. He'll pee over his own dish for desert and sometimes Bellas.
  6. ker-bump. We also have another possible performance dog - Reuben HAS RE-HOMED www.fosterdogs.org
  7. what a beautiful boy. He sounds like a special boy that was very lucky to have found you and you him. Take care
  8. and they really like her :D They are both over fosters, but she is crated overnight with Diesel who usually makes foster pups squeal, and today I saw Bella full mud-flinging on-your-back wrestling playing with her which she has NEVER done with literally dozens of fosters.... But I am not keeping her :D The home that doesn't have a Chi x or a geriatric dog, or worse no other dog, will come up. I keeping processing 'am I being too precious', 'would she cope with a jogger and active family', and yes possibly, but this is one super smart cookie and with very strong working drives - I know what I went through with Bella would not have been managed in most homes, and there lies Twiggy... If they did obedience work (not just puppy school), then that would work. But otherwise she seems to have a sign on her back that spells out not enough stimulation will end up in disaster, or at the very least unhappy and wasted doggy. I have rehomed a large number of juvenile or puppy working breeds but this girl is very special.
  9. plenty of time to consider at this rate - only getting inappropriate enquiries thus far :D
  10. Thanks, Karen has kindly put her on three lists for me:) The Bilson's misunderstood the intent of my email and told me she looked lovely and how to check for tattoo and locates local breeder:) I haven't even looked but will, but do not think she is from a registered breeder.
  11. oh no, I wasn't clear - in no way am I saying she came from the stud at all, never, nada, niente. I suspect that she may have one or both parents of Noonbarra lines, or maybe a good looking grandmother:) She was dumped in a rural pound full of worms and undersocialised, nothing at all to do with Noonbarra. I am interested in their feedback about her because her resemblance (possibly more in the flesh) is pretty similar and we are only talking about 200 kilometres apart
  12. yep and she has been creamed a couple of times. She looks big in some of the pics but when you see her next to the adults she is still a young and self-impressed pup. She really waits, sometimes stalks. Each day she gets a bit more of the rythme and routine behind her. It has only been the last couple of days or so she has been using mouth on shoulders mostly, sometimes a leg. Main thing is she is a really sweet and biddable girlie:)
  13. I am interested in their opinion about her generally, but their website is like looking at Twiggy's family album - markings, colour, shape, working ability. Not saying she herself is from Noonbarra - but after Sidoney posted the link to their site on another thread, I am pretty confident at least one parent was. Still can never qualify that, just an observation. Hopefully I'll hear back from them. She was also from a rural pound that in the scheme of things, is not that far away from their stud. She is so similar to many of the creams on the site (minus puppy tummy and an early good start to life).
  14. Last one for now.... promise 'Twiggy and her passionfruit stalking pit'. 'They IS a coming'. She ofte is crouching waiting. And don't you have to feel sorry for my BC who has a mad Kelpie Senior and Junior when she just wants to chase the ball
  15. Ah nearly finished. After Twiggy I reckon I'll become involved in politics...
  16. Thanks Sidoney:) She eats a heap and has grown so much in length and height but still a little sparse over rib and hip, I am fuelling a tall girl. I emailed Noonbarra for their opinion. She is on the national Flyball site, and now 3 herding lists. Seriously would be wasted with a jogger.
  17. 'Tag team Twiggy' (and yes my BC needs a bath after every dewy/frosty morning)
  18. Springing out of passionfruit vine stalking territory
