Hi all, One of my 2 beautiful Pom twins started having petite mal seizures a few months back. He had one in June about a week after taking Interceptor. He got a strange look as if he was scared and stiffened up. It happened again the next month - he was stiff and appeared scared. This was a little over a week after taking Interceptor. Then this month again it happened. 3 weeks after the last one but he hadn't taken any heartworm meds this time in the week prior? I did take him to my vet and he did blood and urine work and all came back normal. My vet gave my Pom an herbal treatment to take daily to stop the seizures. I am so worried about giving him any future heartworm meds because from all I have read they often can be the cause of seizures. I certainly do not want my Poms to develop heartworm either as I know the treatment for this is very hard on the dog. I am at a loss at what to do??? My vet said I can choose not to give the Interceptor to them and have them tested twice a year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi again Skruffy n Flea! Would you mind telling me about 1 more thing? :) I am still just making sure eveything is correct on this packaging... On the bottom of the box it shows 1104006A01 1104008D01 and Exp. 04/2014EXP. 04/2014 and on the foil packs it says 1104006A 1104008D and EXP. 04/2014EXP. 04/2014 so it seems to match. Is this how it is on yours? Also, on the top lid of the box once you open it on the flap it has numbers and letters: 603485A AUS 911777603488A AUS 911777 and on the foil packs it shows on the side of the pack 603480 AUS603483 AUS so it is not exactly the same. Is it like this on yours too? I really appreciate your help with this! I just want to be sure everything is safe for my twins! Thanks so much!! I've included the nos. on a large box I have in blue. In the order given are the nos. on a small dogs box 4-11kg, a green box I bought a couple of weeks ago. 1202012B01 EXP. 02/2015 1202012B EXP. 02/2015 603486A 911777 603481 AUS Hi luvsdogs! Thanks so much! I guess each would have different numbers if they are for a different weight. And maybe the lot numbers and such would also differ too? It would seem by the info you wrote that my Interceptor Spectrum is ok. I see that your numbers from inside the flap at the top of the box and the numbers on the foil pack itself are also a bit different. They are like mine, a difference of 5. Thanks for taking the time to do this for me!! I wanted to be sure that this is authentic and from everything you have been nice enough to tell me, I feel like it is! I never ordered from the place I found online before (they are in Canada but it was sent from Australia) and I wanted to be sure the heartworm meds are safe. Thanks so very much again!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D You are all the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, My 2 Poms get carrots every day as a treat. I do not give them any other treats anymore and they absolutely love them. I buy the petite sized baby carrots and they go crazy when I say the word carrot. I think they like them better than any dog treat they ever had before! They also love pureed pumpkin - not the pumpkin pie filling in the can but 100% Pumpkin.

i'm glad you found those pix and yes, they do look exactly the same as what i have in my cupboard [interceptor spectrum tasty chews for small dogs 4-11 kg] and except for the varying mg content amounts, the label wording printed on what i have in my cupboard for 'small dogs' is exactly the same as what is printed on that depicted in your pix. Wow, thanks so much!! I feel so much better with someone telling me that!!! Thank you again!!!!!!!! :D

Thanks so much for your reply. It is very helpful. I found a lot of sites that do show the box itself and today I found a site that has photos of the inner packaging too. Do the attachments look correct to you in terms of the inner foil packs? They are for larger dogs but I would assume all the foil packets are similar.

The company where I found Interceptor Spectrum online is from Canada. They actually describe the product as if it is what we use here in the US by saying it is for 2-10lbs in the brown box. This is not how Interceptor Spectrum would be described since the box for my size dogs is orange. I guess this way we think we have found our US product which is what I thought I had found. I had never heard of anything different and did not know of another version outside of the US. I was hoping someone would simply describe the inner packaging per chance I actually ever received this. Thanks again for your time.

That is wonderful! I can certainly say that having 2 is twice the love and fun! :D

Thanks to everyone for your replies! I was hoping someone would be able to tell me about the packaging of Interceptor Spectrum. I want to be sure it is authentic if I am able to purchase some. I know what the box itself should look like, I am more interested in the foil chew packets themselves. Many thanks to everyone!

Hi everyone, I am a new member from the US. I have 2 beautiful Pomeranians that are about 2 1/2 years old. Here in the US there is a big problem with finding Interceptor as it is not in production at the moment due to some problem at the plant and may not be available for quite some time. My vet has suggested using Heartgard but I read a lot of bad things about it and would really prefer to keep my twins on Interceptor. I have been searching online everywhere trying to locate some and had come across several sites offering Interceptor Spectrum. I told my vet about the ingredients and how it is almost exactly the same as ours here in the US but with the added ingredient that also fights tapeworms, I believe. He seemed to think it sounded fine to use. I do not know what the packaging on the outside and more importantly on the inside should look like if I should purchase this and was hoping you would help me to be sure it is authentic. I want to be sure that it is the real Novartis product. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!!!!! :)
