Go down to a shelter and pick one? One of my fave phrases in dog training "if you don't feel like an idiot, you're not doing it right"
-
We both wanted boys. And at the time the breeder (only one was willing to send a pup to Australia) had no unrelated females.
-
Yeh ash, a couple from England moved over with their two dogs (one a tam the other a shepherd) and someone in Melbourne imported baltos uncle at the same time as balto. The boys grew up together and quarantined together. The importing process was craaazy long. Lynn (blustag) did almost everything. :)

Great Prices On Crates In Wagga Wagga
kyliedelonge replied to LisaCC's topic in General Dog Discussion
I ordered a jumbo crate from the pupkus website. It's massive. And only 200-something. Delivery to Perth was pretty good price too. -
There are two others in the country, all males. I intend to import a female as soon as I can afford it.

Thanks. He is 9 1/2months.

Id love for my balto to meet everyones dogs if it doesnt conflict with my work roster.

None of my friends have dogs and I would love my boy balto to have some friends when he gets here next week. He is a 9 month old Tamaskan dog.

Maybe "how many types of retrievers are there?"
-
I havent read everyone's post, so sorry if its been said, but the CSV Is a recognised dog breed and although it has "wolfdog" in the name, its not a hybrid.
-
Like a lot of people are saying, it depends on so many things. I myself have a reactive dog, but I would never ask someone if he could meet their dog, it would stress him too much. It's all about response prevention. Today I took my dog to a training Christmas party at my work, and he was wearing a bright yellow vest saying "please give me space" one girl brought her dog over to mine (i had him at a nice comfortable distance for him and he was laying calmly) so close that he lost it and while he was barking and lunging at her dog and I'm trying to get him behind me she goes "does he want to meet my dog?" *pacepalm*

the kennel i work at is completely enclosed and soundproofed. some dogs still bark at staff when you go inside, but they get to know what times plays and feeds are and dont go crazy when its not those times.

Best Dog Boarding Kennel In Perth?
kyliedelonge replied to Boxerlove's topic in General Dog Discussion
hi there, i work for west coast pet care, its really good. the runs are larger than other kennels ive seen. they go out every morning for about 20-30 mins while everything is cleaned. if you want them to go out in the afternoons and/or have walks then you can pay a bit extra for that. they feed black hawk, or you can take in your own dogs food if you dont want them on a different brand. -
im having my dog flown over from melb using the people at Moorholme Park Pet Care Centre. their cost was less than jet pets, and it included crate hire. i got the recommendation from another thread on here.... somewhere.... if you search for the user wayrod, he can help.

The tdr are not ready to apply for recognition, the stud books aren't ready to be closed yet.

The breed is tamaskan, but including my dog there are only two other tams in australia. I just thought i would ask, since someone i know with the same breed in america was able to take their dog to a rare breed show that allowed unregistered breeds to enter.
-
Are there any shows that allow you to enter a dog breed that isnt ANKC registered? Preferably in WA
-
wow they are nice. i actually like them better with the custom finish. ive sent off an email asking how much postage would be to perth, and if they think the bed would hold the weight of my two dogs.

i taught my last dog to roll over by having her lay on her side, and flipping her over saying "roll over" and she caught on really fast. i wouldnt do this with my current dog, hes too soft.
