Help With Night Time Waking Please
CHA replied to Apple2's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Totally get this, they do like to manipulate us ☺ one of mine looks like she's being murdered when we send her to bed (off my bed and into the study). Though when she is really tired, all she wants is to go to her bed alone in the study. Its her safe place ☺ -
Help With Night Time Waking Please
CHA replied to Apple2's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I'd put her in the laundry to sleep. It seems to work well for both of you, so no reason not too. She probably gets a better night sleep too without you waking her up! Some dogs do prefer to sleep away from you ???? -

How will the dogs know to eat only the goats and not the other wildlife they want to keep, or are they eradicating everything then start again?

Dog Bites Dog That Puts Paw Under Fence
CHA replied to Ivory & Beau's topic in General Dog Discussion
What a dreadful time you are going through at the moment. Take care of yourself and im sure things will be alright xxx dont worry about the neighbor he's in the wrong, not you. You'll obviously fence off parts of the fence so ivy can't continue fighting at it, and it will all settle down. Good luck ☺ -
If the raw is a bone, given rarely, dogs can become over stimulated with it and resource guard. Do you feed your dog kibble or just a raw diet only? Does your dog resource guard all food or just raw? These are important to know because if is just the odd bone, you need to make it a more regular thing so he trusts he will get these regularly and it wont be so important in his mind to keep it to himself. If he resource guards all food, you will need to get in a behaviourist to get the dog to trust you.

My small dogs get half a cup of dry a day with an egg or spoon of yoghurt daily. I found a whole cup of dry was too much for them.

oh dear, not good xxx

not meds, but i gave my unused Hills kd to the vet when Charlie passed away. It was given to an older lady who was trying hard to afford the food for her dog with kidney disease and was MOST appreciated, i received a beautiful heartfelt card from her (via the vet) and was so happy to be able to help out someone in my same situation.

Wishing you all the best Amber, let us know how it goes xx

For All The Unethical (But Responsible) Dog Owners ...
CHA replied to Willem's topic in General Dog Discussion
So if they are forced to get their dogs desexed, the irresponsible breeders will not be able to breed... Hence higher registration fees being a start. -
For All The Unethical (But Responsible) Dog Owners ...
CHA replied to Willem's topic in General Dog Discussion
How do you decide from the general public who is "responsible" and who is "irresponsible"? How do you know who is going to ensure their dog will not accidentally get out, it happens all the time going by the lost dogs pages. Registered breeders have to be responsible, but Joe public... Not necessarily so. -
For All The Unethical (But Responsible) Dog Owners ...
CHA replied to Willem's topic in General Dog Discussion
My dogs that were rescued from the pound have all been mixed breed of indeterminate parentage, not designer crosses, not backyard pure breed. That, plus all the other mixed breeds I saw there would lead me to believe irresponsible owners of undesexed dogs are what has contributed to all these poor guys being dumped there. -
I remember the story of Soona and Boon, so tragic. Lovely to see these photos of Zombi and her baby ????

Oh you poor thing, its so hard what you are going through. There is no easy answer you just go one day at a time and be there for him, attend to his needs and know that you are giving him the best care you can. It is also about you, you love him and are going to miss him so much. Take extra care of you xxx
