thankyou guys, you're all so kind !

I've honestly been putting and putting this off. but now it's time. Last saturday, we had to send ruby to the gods above. It was her time, with hip displaysia, and lymphoma that had risen for the 3rd time , her body had given up on her. We stayed with her until she had gone. Having a dog since you've had since you were 6 years old, 12 years later it is hard to let go of such a wise dog that has taught you so much along the way. The vet told us her heart was still very strong, but her body had just given up.That was always the way with her. She would ALWAYS get up to see us when we went out in the backyard with them, and only this day, she would not get up. we had to physically get her up. She is so smart , and was always considered a second mum to me . Bonnie and I will miss you so much ruby dog, rest in peace :hugsmiley

i often wonder this too .. ours only arent allowed inside full time because the parents think they will stink the house out ( they usually do! ) ... we do bath them.. but they still tend to smell.. and do still go outside how long would it take for the smell to go away if they were kept indoors ?

Your Best Training Treats...
abzndbonnie replied to Lazlo's Mum's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I just got some natures gift mmini treats and they are working great so far! I also use cheese from time to time or chicken like you said, otherwise ham, try some different stuff, all dogs are different, i also tried a squeaky ball toy but that failed, my dog prefers food (fatty ) -
What is it with her? She goes into the cat litter and chews up all the cat poo it makes me wana ;) im afraid its bad for her , so iv put a lid on the cat litter does anyone else's dog do this?

Molly is such a special girl and her mum is just a special as her RIP darling , her and chief will be doing boxer bounces together at the bridge Always keep your head high jaq , You did this totally for molly and that really does mean something, you loved her soo much and she has had the best life any dog could hope for, Hugs to you on this sad day, Love Always Abbie , Ruby + Bonnie xoxo
-
My thoughts are also with you today, Your very brave and have done this in molly's best interests, God bless you both xox
-
Oh Jacqui, This is one of the hardest decisions sadly we are all going to face one day, i have read molly's story from the start and seen such survivors you two are and the road you've been down. It has not been easy for you both, and eventually everyone has to say goodbye one day. Molly has had an AWSOME life, and this should be a celebration on the great life that this dog has had, I send my prayers and hugs to your whole family, Give her one last hug from us all, enjoy the time you have left with her Love and wishes always Abbie, ruby and Bonnie xoxo
-
Oh Jaqui, My heart goes out to you, and my fingers , toes and all my dogs paws are crossed for you and molly to pull through, Give molly a big cuddle from us and i give you one too, your so strong and keep your head high always! Love always abbie, ruby and bonnie

ooo cute pup! and yep they are the girly bits, no real reason behind it, its just the way it is, my golden has her girly bits that look a bit like male bits, she is a looker, p.s how many times can i say bits in one post? p.p.s *abzndbonnie just wipped molasseslass back in her spot for being so naughty!*

grotty rotty only if it works both ways! you see a lil golden and boxer trotting down the shopping main street just pull em along with ya  kit kat good call !!!!
-
kit kat  i seriously concidered renaming her hudini..the amount of money we have spent on fencing is unbelievable. We used to own an acre(where she rounded the sheep up ) and we re fenced the whole fence twice, overlapped it and overlapped it because her and bonnie were getting through the fence holes! .. but nope over she goes! oh and under bonnie goes! .. i was happy when we moved, but not happy when she decided to jump out of the next house! and we are renting all of the houses we are in so we cant do much at the moment but what we are doing now hopefully i will find a solution soon when we buy our own house, maybe ur dog can come move in kit kat

afton i may be butting in but,(lol funny sentence) ruby has been in a run, she digs under , gets bored and barks, slips her collar, and also tries to slip it so much she nearlly choked herself one day so we said bye bye to that idea, also she has bonnie to keep her company, but when ruby goes bonnie follows and then its "double trouble" just sharing my experiences
-
With the dogs going for livestock I'd ensure they are in an escape proof yard and taken for lots of walks Her yard is as "escape proof" as i can make it but ruby being ruby finds her way out, she can clear fences like never before! obedience wise- she is an ex-show dog and obedience is great but she just loves getting out, its her hobby! so walking her every day, giving her obedience and her being in a what i call "escape proof" yard still wont stop her jumping out. it has been 9 years and no cure, but i just learn to live with it now and find my way around it.
-
Yes Urban she has nearlly been put down, but thats another story and that is why enough was enough, she needed to be safe, so inside she came, the cattle she chewed tails off were my uncles so he just had a laugh about it and tells all his farmer friends! she also had a nice run around his farm and his neighbours farm, so understandably he hasnt offered to look after her again  When we are at work/school she is on a chain, a very long one that she can reach the whole yard with, but i hate it, but that's what u gota do, i am not risking her life again! And i dont think i want an invisible fence, but anyone that has it and it works for them so be it, good on em for not risking their dogs life either!
-
I would just like to add: When people purchase innotek collars and fences, after the dog gets a couple of zaps and knows its boundaries do u then take it away?? I wouldnt leave it on the dog for its whole life time i think that would be a tad harsh, i think there are other ways around dogs getting out, iv had a boxer get out from when she was 18 months, she is now 9 years old and will still do it, wait for 5 minutes boom shes gone. So i do know the annoyance. BUT - even knowing that i bring my boxer inside now as its the only way i can watch her and keep her safe, i know i said i would use these as a last resort and i would but i still dont agree with them. I hope i made just a bit of sense there lol. So kitkat- i am on your level  she has rounded up sheep, cattle, bit cattles tails off, just a huge ball of fun! not for me though!!
-
I think there are ways around keeping your dog in the yard, and its usually getting out from bordem, although if i tried every resort to keeping hte dog in and it didnt work i would go for this, it is more safer than the dog being ran over
