  1. Whatever the behaviour is the OP obviously needs help, which cannot be given without a professional seeing the dog.
  2. You really need a behaviourist. I suggest that asap. Good luck.
  3. Playing is not exhausting and only exciting. For a dog that is already exhibiting excited behaviour it does not tire him out at all. I would exchange current play time for training time. Goodluck.
  4. Although I am concerned that you may have the wrong breed of dog for your circumstance/experience I will give you some advice. Chaining a dog that has not had the right amount of mental and physical activity is the route cause of a lot of aggressive, manic, neurotic and frustrated behaviour (which your dog seems to be exhibiting one or more of) if you are unwilling/unable to give your dog the physical and mental exercise that it needs then chaining it will only make it worse. I suggest getting a kennel/dog run and a behaviourist ASAP.
  5. Please don't put your child in between you and a dog you think may act aggressively. I agree that you need professional help and cannot recommend Steve from K9 pro highly enough. Contact Huski on the forum and she can give you more information on getting him to help you. Please keep your child and him separate until this is sorted out.
  6. I just tried to leave the backyard with the wheelbarrow and Maybe jumped in it and just stared ta me intently.. I may have overly clingy dogs...
  7. My dogs have recently started howling when I leave. I'm getting them out of it by pretending to leave and then coming back so many times that they get bored
  8. I left for literally 1 minute the other day to grab something from my neighbours, I came home and I got the biggest welcome, it was stupid and I told them so.
  9. I one a guinea pig when I was a kid and I know of rural towns a few years ago that had poddy lambs and goats a prizes. So wrong.
  10. I feed dogs cubed meat in frozen beef stock in summer but always thaw bones to refrigeration temp before feeding as i worry about them snapping or not being flexible enough.
  11. I know a few people with blue and tan and fawn and tan working kelpies. They work the same but i know a couple have questionable coats but they're working dogs so alopecia doesn't get a second thought.
  12. I actually had a lady seriously enquiring about a young kelpie i had in training. She was from Nth America but the cost of transport was a bit too much for her. When I told her there were breeders in the states and Canada she got very excited
  13. I'm pretty sure my dogs would love a pig's head but I'm pretty sure i would scream the entire time they ate it.
  14. I use chicken frames as well and necks for one JRT as he finds the big frames a bit offensive sometimes
  15. and Cattle dogs are very popular now in the US. Very popular! I met quite a few whilst there and my friend has 3 of her own in Wyoming.
  16. I know that in northern north america and canada they are growing in popularity but are still quite far from common.
  17. If I can get there I will! Maybe would be keen as mustard I think
  18. omg, I think I just found my new dog sport. Now to trade all my current dogs in for an agouti husky and a sled
  19. For now though, put a towel in a box and gently pick it up with another towel, don't let it bite or scratch you put it in the box and close it.
  20. Call WIRES or your local animal park. Looks albino which means it will probably need to be kept in captivity if it is to live.
  21. Done. Was not thrilled that you failed to include JRTs and Kelpies in your breed list but I got over it
  22. Good to hear. Hopefully all goes well and she gets the fences fixed to keep him in. He sounds like a lovely boy.
  23. I gave her the information for the GSP rescues. I haven't heard anything more from her but she strongly indicated that she would be taking him to Glenfield RD shelter yesterday afternoon if no one took him. I don't know if she did or not though.
  24. I think it's Ok if the dog is in urgent need of rescue? In theory, there is only an exemption if the dog is too elderly or too young to be desexed. I am not a stickler for following the rules to the letter, but in my opinion it is much safer if interested parties can message you privately for contact details. ok. I removed the number. Thank you for that
  25. Yep, i did tell her that the pound may not be as bad as it seems for a boy like him. The reason i put him here was that she was searching for a breeder that may have wanted him for their program. So thought I may improve his chances of going to a more suitable home
