Anyone Boarded At Doggy Farm Stay Middle Dural?
mixeduppup replied to JoAnnP's topic in General Dog Discussion
Wow, nobody actually knows what the situation was but the two dogs should be declared dangerous? Dogs of all sizes and breeds can end up in a fight, especially if they are unknown to each other, there is no human supervision and the possibility of toys or food being present has not been ruled out... A well placed bite from a staffy (or an equally or bigger sized dog) could accidentally kill a dog, even if that was not the intent of the bite.... I think blaming the staff is appropriate, but not the dogs, surely.... The owner says that her dog (which was used to being with other dogs) was mauled to death by two stiffies. Dogs can scrap but they don't all maul other dogs to death. If it was my own dog doing that, it would be put to sleep, there wouldn't be any need to declare it dangerous. If a dog is capable of mauling another dog to death then don't you think that something should be done to prevent it happening again? And yes - the staff ARE to blame for allowing it to happen but it doesn't mean that the dogs are OK going forward. There are plenty of times/places where dogs are together in groups and dogs all survive intact. I know I'm not meant to laugh but that had me giggling. Sorry DM! -
Gage, Chase, Tag, Ewok (going with the Jedi theme) Han, Solo, Jabba, Dex, Nash, Chewie, Radar, Gambit, Dougy. I'm done. Dammit, just read it had to start with an 'F' Fitch, Falcon, Fella, Fallon, Farmer, Frasier, Finn, Freud, Fabio, Faegan, Ferris, Flint, Flynn or Fonzy. Now I'm done :D

A dog was left alone with two dog aggressive staffies that mauled it to death and then the family were not contacted for 6 days after the dog died, not only allowing them to grieve properly but keeping the remaining 3 dogs at risk. Pretty sire Dingbat reacted appropriately on all counts. I'm warning all my friends about this kennel. -
Anti cat people, lol. So I'm a member of a cat forum as well, does that make me anti dog? Oh wait... As for cats roaming, it's one of my pet hates. I have one inside cat and two cats ina permenant outside enclosure. I would never let my cats run free for risk of not only being attacked by a dog, but hit by a car, in a cat fight, trapped, caught, snake bite, the list is endless. My cats stay secure just like my dogs do. it's pet ownership 101.

A behaviourist is a good idea as they can tell whether the dog is being reactive due to fear, frustration, prey drive etc. If it's prey drive I would be very wary about having it around a small child. But I'm wary with any dogs around newborns and never ever ever leave dogs alone with children of any age. He needs a behaviourist. If he doesn't and the dog behaves aggressively toward the baby you have every right to call DOCS and inform them that you feel the baby is in danger with the dog.

We see a lot of massive cross woofhounds for sale around here. I saw an ad the other day for a mini fox X terrier.

Maybe it's some kind of coded message? I'm trying to find excuses for such atrocious sentence structure and understanding of basic English.

I'd laugh if it wasn't so sad.

I coordinate rescue for three different rural pounds which have a very high percentage of boofers, staffy crosses and working dogs. I'm happy to say that there's been a 100% success rate with rescuing and rehoming all dogs from the pound including the 'ugly ones' and Needy Paws has not taken one. So judging by that I can say that rescues are able and willing to take these dogs but maybe were scared off Griffith by the behaviour of this rescue? This is not bad mouthing anyone just putting another spin on it.

So in the time the op has been here he is moving the America with his boxer girl friend and bullarab simply to own a dogo. He/she then gets a new puppy and takes it to their parvo infected house where the puppy quickly contracts parvo. We then find out that the OP owns multiple dogs but only plans to take the bullarab to America. I'm wondering what is going to happen to the other dogs in this scenario? It just rings not true to me.

That road is very dangerous, you stop there's a chance you die so he couldn't stop. Glad the dog survived and he's doing the right thing by her.

 I can't remember what you said, but that was funny. I said he was probably a sleeper agent that has been activated and he had to move on Oh, that's cleverrr. It just comes to me. I'm super intuitive. But in all seriousness this is a pretty sad situation.

Edited because I was being a bit of a cow.

if it is I'll be reporting it. It would be in pretty poor taste as people rehoming their dogs is emotional enough without people pretending to rehome their dogs.
-
Maybe it's some kind of social experiment?
