  1. https://www.facebook.com/CootamundraPound scroll down a tiny bit and it's there
  2. If you could share the status I made on the cootamundra pound page on facebook that would be ideal, just tell them to message me directly at the pound page on fb, that's easiest. Thanks.
  3. I've had a few people inquire and sound serious but then never get back to me. It's a bit frustrating.
  4. Were they normal mini horses or dwarf horses? mini horses are pretty normal.
  5. The Australasian Bosdog Society has helped me in the past.
  6. Volunteer rescue coordinator. I will be leaving Cootamundra around May-June and will need someone to take my position. This position not only includes posting dogs here but taking photos and temp testing, running the fb page and posting on Rescuerex. I also transport when I can, arrange transport, liaise with the public and, organise temp care answer directly to Council. Council has asked me to conduct interviews for any applicants and then I will send successful people to Council for a final interview and they have final say. If anyone is interested please let me know.
  7. I used to work a couple of my dogs on feral goats. Your dogs have to be so tough and I've seen some pretty bad injuries and heard of worse from goats, they're rough! I admire how brave these dogs are
  8. Looks like a Walrus Puppy to me
  9. This is my guys plus a couple of mum's Just mine And the maremma after his bath....
  10. Agreed. Manuka honey is amazing! Hoping your dog recovers and the dogs and owner are found.
  11. Yes they did. It's not for me but someone else and they asked me to gather a few different contacts. Thank you, I've been in contact with dogmad. :)
  12. If anyone is in whippet rescue please contact me.
  13. I work most days and have 2 kelpies as well as other dogs at the house that belong to me and other family. The dogs just play on the half acre through out the day then have a 6k walk/jog at night
  14. I know a fair few working dog people who feed like that, it's easy to see if ones are going hungry as they'll be hollow after the meal then you just give them food alone.
  15. IMPRESSED! I'm such a lazy feeder lol. I just throw out food on the veranda and it's a free-for-all.
  16. Bonza's reaction to the electric fence was to ignore the chooks completely and go back to chasing squirrels, or lying at my side. When the chooks are bigger the yard and coop will be expanded . . . Why do people on this forum so often assume that the OP is an idiot who doesn't care for animals. Of course, if I can't work out a solution that's comfortable for both the dogs and the chooks, the chooks will be rehomed . . . or eaten . .. they are a dual purpose breed. Personally, I don't apply the concept of forever home to chooks. I'm sure mine will live happier lives than factory chooks. I didn't assume you were an idiot. I've just seen this happen a lot and from my experience it rarely works out well. If you are intent on keeping the chickens it will require time and building supplies. I hope you work it out and everyone can live happily.
  17. Even with the fence I think that would still be terrifying for the chickens and when they get bigger their cage will have to get bigger and where will they go then? Plus I doubt your dog will be able to relax.
  18. Maybe make a yard away from the labs for the chickens or just find them a new home, the chickens and lab won't be able to relax unless they can't see each other.
  19. A 1 month off being 22 year old Dingo cross called 'Brownie'. Poor fella died by getting his head stuck in a broken fence hole, the owner's were devastated as he was still really spritely.
  20. I got rushed by a big mastiff cross that jumped a tiny fenced yard just the other day. I screamed and yelled and waved my arms until it stopped and the owner came out, the owner called it back and grabbed it. I then went home and called the ranger as that dog wasn't messing around and if I had been someone else with a touch less authority I would have been in trouble. I never let off lead dogs approach mine unless I know the dog well. I look like an idiot making it leave but I would rather that than an altercation.
  21. Until you see a qualified and good behaviourist you are doing the right thing by not taking her to off lead places. This is why I hate dog parks because we are in less control of the situation as a whole and unable to always know exactly where things went wrong. Going by what you have said only, your dog seems to be intolerant of other dogs and because of this you need to have her professionally assessed so you can better manage and understand her in similar situations. Good luck with your dog and a big thumbs up for seeking advice. Where are you located, people on here may be able to point you in the direction of a good behaviourist/trainer in your area.
  22. Ethical rescue only or desex them before finding a private home for them. Good luck
