  1. Hello everyone, Just joined and glad I've found this resource. My first issue is finding a new vet here in Perth. I've read some of the other threads and saw that Subiaco was highly rated, and just wanted to know if there was a specific vet there that is good? We are in the Western suburbs so any other recommendations are good too. We currently have a vet (or multiple vets at one practice) that we've seen a number of times, but lately I have been really unimpressed with the service we've gotten and I feel like they are more interested in up-selling products to us at massive mark ups rather than really caring for my two cattle dogs (both under 12 months). Which brings me to my other query which is whether there is a good specialist that I could see about one of my dogs. She's only about 10 months but she has been lame recently in her right hind leg (we have no idea as to a cause). When she gets up from sleeping/not moving for awhile she won't even use that leg and just hops around, however she will have moments where she plays with the other dog and also goes on short walks (as recommended by the vet) and it seems ok. She has been to the vet three times now and we're not seeing any improvements. Anti-inflammatories, pain meds, rest, supplements - none of it is working. We've had x-rays done and while there are some other issues with her toe bones (weird genetic flaws apparently), there is no indication of anything wrong with the leg itself. She's quite stoic when you fuss with it, but it is clear that there's a muscle or something that is sore if you really press on/knead it (which three vets have now done). This has been going on for almost four weeks now. So, my question is who could I take my dog to to get to the bottom of this? We're getting no answers from the vet (all of them are baffled), and it kills me to see my fur-baby in pain and hopping around. She's so young! (By the way both of my ACD's are rescue dogs and are definitely not pure-bred, though are primarily heeler). Any advice on both issues is much appreciated.
