  1. I have to second Budget Pet Products :) Great service from them.
  2. Aw too far from me unfortunately, thank you though :) I wonder if it's a chain store or not.
  3. Whoa, can I ask where abouts these butchers are?!
  4. Yeah the normal chicken wings are just fine and I feed them frozen as well which really helps. My cav still inhales frozen necks.
  5. I have a pedaller too sometimes! He gets weird hiccups too. Bizkit the Sleep Walking Dog
  6. It appears that people of this religion MAY be more likely to view dogs a unclean or whatever as their religion seems to imply that they are/may be. Why does everybody always hit the roof when statements regarding people's nationality or religion are made? People constantly make general statements about groups of people, is it suddenly illegal to do so if they are Muslim/black/somehow "different"? You're right there, traditionally Muslims do see dogs as dirty and evil, particularly black dogs. My parents are Malaysian and over there the main religion is Muslim. When we were staying at my cousins there recently, a technician came in the house to fix something and he didn't see their dog... You should've seen his reaction when it jumped on him. He was absolutely mortified, screamed and recoiled. Edit: their dog is a tiny, harmless shiht tzu too.
  7. Can Thornit powder only be used for moist ears? My guy has really itchy smelly ears, but they're dry.
  8. Yep, very wet dog here too. He usually won't touch the grass if its wet but he just gave up and has been going out to pee since the rain is never ending. Being a cav its his ears that mainly get all soaked from sniffing around haha
  9. I always walk him a few hours after or before a meal :)
  10. This thread is great I'm having the same problem with my Cavalier.
  11. I might give it a go in that case, I know he does well with chicken. Thank you! :)
  12. I bought the brand called "Hilde Hemmes" which doesn't stain the white patches on my Cavalier :) I also have Calendula Cream which I got at the chemist. It's white and works quite well for skin related problems too (for both dogs and humans!). In case you're interested, I was on the Rufus and Coco Facebook page recently and someone else complained that the itch relief shampoo turned their dog's fur orange. The company replied back saying to contact their offices and mention the batch number and expiry date.
  13. Are you using the chicken or game one? I've been trying the wild game for my cavalier and he is pooing like crazy! I'm not sure whether to bother trying the chicken one or not. Ah - but is it only chicken or game in there? I wish I could be more confident of the meat source - and what exactly is classified as "game"? Yeah I know, they're very vague. They mention duck and poultry but then "meat meal" twice.

  15. Yep, I remember being so shocked seeing so many dogs in prams in LA shops/malls etc.
  16. The one I use you just pay a deposit first to secure the accommodation and then pay the rest when go pick your kid/s up :)
  17. The sticky roller has been the best thing that works for me so far, you can get a giant one from The Reject Shop too. I wanna look into this broom though!
  18. Pookinuk are selling Holistic Select with $5 postage :) http://www.pookinuk.com.au/index.php/for-dogs/shop-by-brand-a-h/holistic-select.html
  19. I reckon they do too. My dog does it mostly when he's lying down. Once when I told him to wait for his food he let out a huge sigh, but he hasn't done it since!
  20. My guy actually comes out of his crate to do his ballet stretches  When I take his bowl out in the morning for breakfast, he has to run two laps of the house before he comes out to start eating. I think he's trying fuel all his excitement!
  21. Ask around for another recommendation, she sounds inexperienced :) eta: Not that there is anything wrong with that, everyone starts somewhere, but I guarantee the right groomer could clip your dog from start to finish without traumatizing your wriggly worm. I groom a few like that, the second you give them any kind of acknowledgement they turn themselves inside out with excitement. Grooms are done very quietly  Thanks, that gives me some peace of mind :) The groomer herself wasn't all that nice anyway so I'm definitely not going back. Hope you'll be able to find a good groomer clydesdalelover!
  22. I wish I had had the common sense to know to take my dog to the groomers asap. Took him for the first time around 10-11 months old and they just couldn't clip him. He was way too fidgety, not because he's scared/nervous but because he was just SO excited to be at a new place with new people. I wasn't allowed to stick around at all and the girls grooming were quite young... so I'm not sure if it had anything to do with experience. My friend has a very fidgety dog too and says her groomer clips him just fine.
  23. I haven't gone to the vet alone yet, I always get someone to come with me to help me out when I'm paying, talking to the receptionist etc. I have a VERY hyperactive puppy who loves everything and everyone way too much and tries to bolt all over the place. Having that extra person there to have him under control while I'm busy really helps.
