Speaking of staffys off leash. The worst thing I ever saw was when I was driving down South Road in Adelaide and stopped at a red light. A person on the left was in his front yard with his staffy off leash and the gates wide open. I didn't think anything of it until I looked to my right and saw an older gent walking his golden retriever. As soon as the staffy saw the golden he lowered his head and charged at it, right across South Road and the lights had turned green. I didn't move my car and could not do anything in those seconds, but I saw the staffy charge right under an oncoming car and become wrapped up under the front wheels with a horrific sound of screeching brakes and crunching. It was the most sickening thing I've seen in a long time. This could happen to any dog, but it is inexcusable to not be able to manage a dog in such an area, be it a park or by a main road.
