We had a puppy years ago that did that and we couldn't seem to stop him. When he went to the kennel we were embarrassed when we they told us he was doing it in the kennels and they seemed horrified. I finally found the solution to it and it worked straight away. Eucalyptus oil sprinkled liberally on the poo as soon as you see it and then don't pick it up (it's gross if they are still having accidents inside but worth it). They will go to smell it before they eat it. They don't like the smell and so don't eat it - after a while they stop sniffing it with the intent to eat it.
We have a new pup arriving on 31st and I've already got the Eucalyptus oil handy JIC!
