My kelpie does the same thing ie licks when we are not at home. Did this basket muzzle stop your dog licking his leg - I am worried that a dog could get his tongue through the gaps in the mask. thank you.

My 11 year old Kelpie licks his leg at every opportunity he gets. He now has 2 red raw spots on this leg. He started near to the site of an old wound (there is no infection but I think he remembers the injury). We now have to keep him in an a plastic clear elizabethan collar all the time (he is calm in it does not seem to bother him, and he is sleeping ok). Unfortunately in the last week he has learnt how to get around the collar by bending it and getting under the collar to his paw. Everytime we leave the house he does this, and makes the paw worse. Does anyone have any suggestions pls.
