  1. I know it is shocking....pets are forever they are not disposable. I really love this saying I found on the web the other day.
  2. regarding his arthritis , does saschas blend really work or would you suggest something else? :) I would like to get started on his " condition" as soon as I can and give this guy a nice enjoyable last few years of life whether that be with me or my mate where I can go and see him all the time hehehe
  3. Nope They said in exact words " take it to the pound I cant be bothered dealing his conditions anymore he to old anyway" I had to refrain from blowing my top at them...... and asked them nicely if they would sign him over into my name so that he doesn't run t he chance of being PTS They are coming to my place tomorrow to sign him over, I am still going to contact my mate and tell him the situation and if he wants him them thats fantastic but otherwise he isnt leaving me he is too precious to run the risk of being dumped or "accidently lost" again.
  4. Im hoping that after my finishes work today that I will be able to contact him. This little man needs a loving home. otherwise I think I have just found a new friend
  5. Oh my goodness I was coming home on the bus this morning from my local shopping centre and it narrowly misses hitting this little brindle staffy! I have aksed to get off at the next stop instead of my usual to try and make sure this little fella gets home alright and doesnt have anymore gambles with his life. Anyway I have got off the bus and gone over the pedestrian island thing where he was hiding to see if he/she was friendly, luckily for me yes HE was friendly and was quite willing to come with me , he was only a small little thing so I managedt to pick him up and carry him to somewhere quiet. no collar no identification whatsoever.......luckily my nearest vet is only a 20minute walk from where he was found. Vet scanned him turns out he is 10years young ( such a little cutie!!) :D Sad part is that we managed to get into contact with the owners who said to take him to pound as they cannot afford to deal with his medical conditions anymore, the vet asked what conditions they are talking about and they said he has bad arthritis thats it arthritis some people make me so angry I am going to contact my mate who is an absolute staffy lover to see if he is able to offer this guy a loving home. The owners are happy to sign him over which is a good thing, I cant stand to see him go to the pound hes to much of a sweetie. :) Has anyone else dealt with people like this before?? I have always thought that if you are going to get a puppy then you are in it for the long haul through sickness and health I hate it how dogs have now been seen as disposable
  6. LOL - that's awesome :) Hahahahahahahaha. hahahah made my morning
  7. I have bathed phoebe 3 times since I have had her and my goodness if she isnt already hyper on a normal day after a bath she turns into a speeding rocket I cringe and hope my ornaments survive the ordeal haha
  8. Yeh I was shocked when she sent me the link, she said she bought 50kg of it so she wouldnt have to buy some more for a little bit haha shes lucky she has a chest freezer
  9. My girlfriend found an advert on the net while looking for inexpensive pet mince for her dobies and found this advert on gumtree apparently, they are at shanes park and sell chicken pet mince for 30cents per kilo minimum buy of 10kilos, so Its only $3 for a frozen slab :) Thought I would share I will include the link she sent me. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/shanes-park/pet-products/bulk-fresh-meat-for-dogs/1001751429 She said it was good quality by the looks of it and her dogs liked it and it didnt have one of those unbearable odours that some pet minces have either haha which was a plus. :)
  10. hahaha phoebe bought me an empty tuna can from the garbage bin, does that count as a gift?
  11. I am disgusted by the whole situation, the pet store for leaving such little babies in a store overnight and the people who broke in and stole them, activist group or not it is still wrong. I don't actually see where activists groups think they have the right over any other human being when it comes to commiting crimes they seem to think because they chant a catchy phrase or are some part of group like oscars flaw and that malodramatic tantra woman that they have the right to whatever they want, that group btw has gone from being something that originally made sense to just a money spinner now and I find it disgusting. I hope the puppies are found safe and well regardless of who has taken them, I hope they were not taken by someone who wants to use them for breeding later on it sends chills up my spine thinking about it..... They should rightfully be snuggled up with their mummy right now not in the hands of some thieving idiot or stuck in a cold pen in a petstore for people to poke and prod at like a sideshow attraction. ......another reason why they should ban the sale or animals in pet stores...
  12. I want to get a shirt for Phoebe with the words printed " When properly trained a man can be a dogs best friend " hahaha
  13. WOW!!! I bet I know which doggy is T-BONE for dinner tonight hahaha go Pudsey
  14. :D Thanks, my mother keeps giving her little SWF sultanas I keep telling her that its a no no
  15. Thanks for that lol  I felt so slack for telling her she couldn't have another little cube of it
  16. I have read quite a few "dog blogs" some that have been quite helpful and some that have been nothing but rubbish promoting how healthy DD are etc. The ones I have read about health etc have been quite informative but yeh I agree just because someone writes a blog doesn't exactly make them a credible expert or give them any qualification :)
  17. I have a question that probly sounds quite silly lol is greek fetta cheese ok for dogs?? I was eating a greek salad and gave her a little bit without thinking about it first she liked it ( I mean who wouldn't it is an awesome cheese haha) she asked for a little bit more but then I was like oh crap what if its bad for you and I felt so guilty. So has anyone else done this??
  18. I hope she made a formal complaint to the council about it! What an absolute sh!t of thing to say to anyone, let alone a pregnant woman who'd just watched her puppy being attacked and killed. Some dog owners really need a good smack in the head! If they are going to own a dog that has attacked the very least they can do is step up and take responsibilty for it. RIP Sophie and all the others who have suffered such horrible ends. Yes she made a formal complaint but it fell on deaf ears unfortunetly my brother wanted to sue the owner but his wife couldnt bare having to relive that moment over and over again for months on end just for the magistrate to dismiss everything, I understand where she is coming from in that sense. She had trouble bonding with my nephew after the innocent which was horrible she needed therapy for about 6 months to work through some of her issues Some people should just not own animals full stop. And yes it was an absolutely stupid statement that came from his mouth... there was not even an apology just that smartass remark a little chuckle and walked off. : and because my brother owns his house moving wasnt an instant option either.. because they would have to put it on the market etc and they were still renovating it aswell so they were stuck there living next to that jerk for a while after it happened.
  19. Awesome perfomance she has certainly put alot of work into training him <3
  20. RIP SOPHIE My sister in law had this happen to her 18 week old husky puppy it was devestating she refuses to ever get another dog because she had to watch with no way of stopping it, two bull breed crosses got under the fence and ripped her little husky girl mischa to bits she tried to hit them off throw stuff at them scream at them and yell for the owner and in the end one of the dogs came running at her and my sister in law was 7 months pregnant at time and didn't know what to do she didn't want to leave mischa outside alone but she didn't want the dogs to kill her unborn child... my brother and herself had been trying for 6 years to concieve and finally did by IVF ..... she feels so guilty I keep telling her that it was not her fault but she always refuses to listen to me pooor hunn. She tried to get the dogs put down but the council said there was not enough evidence to prove that his dogs had done it?? his exact words to her after it happened were " well if your dog wasn't so stupid it would have defended itself survival of the fittest love"
