  1. Stand-up comedian! You are too good MUP. I wondered what you'd come up with for that one!
  2. That was great, thanks for sharing. Another one off to google Phillip Glass!
  3. What a fantastic segment! Loved seeing the kids enjoying their dogs so much too!
  4. Thanks so much again everyone for your suggestions - there have been some great ideas. Special thanks to dyzney and BlackJaq for your input. Anne: I've looked at those beds before too but I was concerned that the sides would collapse after a few washes so its good to know they cope with being washed regularly. I think the lyrebird furniture is something I'll look into. Their site says they can stain/paint match the furniture which is great as ours is all contemporary rather than the more colonial style stain on their website and I can sort out the cushion separately to design match our current soft furnishings. Their beds certainly fulfil all my criteria in terms of support, high sides and a non-gaudy design.
  5. Thanks so much for all your replies everyone :) Cost isn't an issue - I'm more than happy to invest in an expensive bed if the quality is there. The rectangular mattress type beds are great and he has two of them already but he loves to lay with his back against the wall if he can so I'd like to find something with high/bolstered type sides. That way it'll be more comfy for him and mean I don't have to clean the giant schnauzer sized patches of discolouration off my white walls quite so regularly!
  6. Hi everyone, I'm looking for suggestions for a high quality indoor dog bed for a tall dog around 50kgs. There are so many to choose from for smaller dogs but a real paucity for large dogs. Being such a big dog, I'm looking for something with plenty of padding to support his weight properly. I'd also like it to have built up sides and to have a design that isn't gaudy. I haven't had much success in my hunt so far but the best ones I've found are these beds: My link. I don't think any retailers in Australia stock them but I'm happy to freight in if I need to. Has anyone used these beds or does anyone have any good suggestions for alternatives? Many thanks :)
  7. Changing owner details is not a problem. You would need to find out which database the dog is currently registered with as there are a number of national microchip registration databases in Australia. If you don't know which database, you can use this website to find out: http://www.petaddress.com.au/Default.aspx All of the registries require change of ownership details to be submitted in writing. Some of them have change of ownership forms available to download from their websites. All of the forms require the signature of previous owner and new owner as confirmation of ownership change. Alternatively, a stat dec can be submitted if you are unable to contact the previous owner. In the case of puppies, in QLD they cannot be microchipped before 8 weeks of age but must be done by 12 weeks of age. Most of the breeders I deal with already have the new homes waiting well before the puppies are weaned so we can fill in the microchip form with the new owner details as soon as the chip is implanted.
