  1. Will double check but I'm pretty sure nobody else fed her anything. My main concern would be a partial blockage as she likes to eat her toys!
  2. My 11yo dog vomited this afternoon and it contained bits from her meal two nights ago. Last night she had kibble only, the morning before that she had some chewy treats and the night before that she had kibble plus dog roll - which is what was in the vomit. Clearly identifiable with bits of veggies, etc. Should I be concerned? She is fine in herself and ate her dinner tonight. I just find it odd that the dog roll is still in her stomach after about 40hrs and several further meals.
  3. Why approach the authorities though? They have done nothing to help these people thus far! Why not offer to buy food or grooming products instead? ETA: just because WE have an idea on how dogs shouldbe treated, doesn't mean its right or even best for the dog. Travel around the world - or even just Australia - and you will see many ways that dogs are cared for. Eg working dogs on farms that are chained for large periods of time. The dogs dont seem to mind and they live for the times they are working. Most suburban pet owners cringe at the thought of chaining a dog, but horses for courses.
  4. Stainless steel here - easy to clean, hard to break.
  5. We use Trigene at work but I think it smells too strong. I use F10 at home and love it. I F10 everything - carpet, furniture, walls, etc and have never had any stains from it. Not so important in a kennel but still. :)
  6. Get some cheap blankets from the op shop too. The dogs drag them around sometimes but they dont generally kill them like they do their beds. :)
  7. Its hard to see clearly, but to me it looks like she has a fair bit of muscle wastage in her legs. So it may just be the severe malnutrition causing her problems. If you can, get some Hills A/D and mix it with her kitten food. It will help get some weight on her. Also, if you can, get some Lysine powder from a health food shop and sprinkle 1/8th of a teaspoon on her wetfood twice daily. This will keep the cat flu at bay. Keep her nice and warm and she should be fine. Oh and bathe her eye with plain water, not salt water as it isn't good for sore eyes. You are doing a great job with her! :)
  8. Bitter spray. Crib stop or a similar type product. Only way I can stop my lot chewing off coats, collars, beds etc.
  9. Poor little baby. People are so cruel. Judging by it's colour, I'd say the little poppet is a SHE not a he. Looks like a blue (smoke?) tabby tortie. Keeping everything crossed she makes it xxx
  10. Vibravet is doxycycline. You can get 50mg doxy tablets from the chemist with a script from the vet.
  11. The third eyelid up indicates infection, irritation, pain etc. Something is not right with that eye. Did the vet pull the third eyelid down and check the cornea? Can you see the cornea?
  12. Eye infections usually clear up pretty quickly once the antibiotics kick in. Glad he is doing better. :)
  13. Tricin is an antibiotic ointment. Rotten teeth can cause issues elsewhere, but I really don't like the sound of that eye.
  14. No, the eye should not look like that. Eyelid surgery can cause the eyelid to be puffy for a few days, but the discharge and mess you've described is not normal. Why do they want to do an x-ray? It sounds like an infection of some sort. Did they suture it? If so, there could be a suture rubbing on the cornea. What cream did they give you? Do you have any photos? I have had two fosters have MAJOR dental work (rotten, infected teeth resulting in most of them being removed) and they were eating normally quite quickly. From memory, they were even eating chicken necks within a week. If it were me, I would be going to a different vet for a 2nd opinion.
  15. Yes it looks like an iris cyst. If you tilt his head does it move? If so, its unlikely to cause any problems. If it gets too big or there are too many of them, you can pop it with a laser or have them sucked out. If it is adhered to the iris, I would get it checked out. It could be something else.
