Puppy Registration - Mislead By Breeder
*kirty* replied to Bigsley's topic in General Dog Discussion
All of my pedigree puppies are in the breeder's names. When I get off my bum and start showing, then I will transfer them. :) -
I think a mini would be better too. The minis I know are more laid back and less needy than the toys. :)
-
Toy Poodles are seriously cool, smart little dogs! :)

Preston and Tilly in front of the fire. :) My handsome boy ????
-
I know some great breeders in Victoria. :)
-
I agree it is complicated and not always easy to fix. But if that had been the case with Mary, she would have been returned to the breeder. When I say 'not tolerated' I mean in my situation. A resource guarder is not going to work in my busy home full of kids, cats and other dogs. It just isn't safe.

How To Get A Response From A Reputable Breeder?

If you name the breeds, some people might be able to point you in the right direction. :) -

And they also defined punishment as mamy things including 'verbal correction'. If I catch my dog peeing on the carpet I will yell OI and put them outside. But I don't 'punish' them.

How To Get A Response From A Reputable Breeder?
*kirty* replied to wimaly's topic in General Dog Discussion
Breeders are busy people and especially when they have puppies. :) I would call the breeder with the pups again. Remind them you are still keen. I would also suggest going to a few shows and meeting some breeders in person. And perhaps decide which breed you want and focus on that. -
Agree. I finished it but there was a lot of random stuff in there that was just weird.

I was saying I don't trust Mary. I do trust my other dogs. Do I intentionally test them? No. Do I believe they would be fine if one of the kids happened to touch them while they were eating? Yes. I have high expectations of my dogs and have worked hard with them to ensure they are good canine citizens.

Resource guarding is absolutely not tolerated in my house. I'd never had a resource guarder until Mary came along. One day she found a bit of cat food on the floor and my daughter grabbed her collar to put her outside (she didn't know Mary had found food) and Mary spun round and bit Holly very hard on the arm. She had puncture marks and nasty bruising. I had not seen Mary resource guard until that moment. I immediately started working with her to address the issue and she is now fine. But I would never trust her with food around my kids. I teach my kids to never touch dogs when they are eating, and my dogs are left alone to eat, but I fully expect them to be safe should I ever need to take food away etc.

Haha I shared that on FB last week. I love it!

Thanks guys. :) Good to know. I liked the sound of it so hopefully my dogs do well on it. :)

Anyone feed Ivory Coat? Thinking of putting my dogs on this. All of my dogs have fairly cast-iron stomachs but I have three super fussy ones and one that has trouble with soft poops and maintaining her weight. My dogs all LOVED the sample I got which was great, but I'm interested in how it goes for dogs that struggle to maintain weight.

Breeder Refusing Refund For Pure Bred Puppy
*kirty* replied to matt1234's topic in General Dog Discussion
yip. Whether or not the pup was sold for breeding is also beside the point. If the bite is so bad that the teeth piece the roof of the mouth then then the pup was not fit for sale. Of course it was fit for sale. Would you knock it on the head? What should have happened is that the issue with the mouth should have been advised. No it wasn't. If the puppy needs surgery to be comfortable as is the case here, it should not have been sold. It should have been either kept by the breeder to see if it improves, had surgery to remove the canines and sold with full disclosure, or discounted and sold with full disclosure. -

That looks like a ruined toy, not a piglet. -

Not if the jaw is severely overshot as the OP has described. The teeth are digging holes in the roof of his mouth. My puppy had this and had to have his puppy canines removed. The top jaw then continued to grow and the bottom jaw got worse. -

Where did you see a picture of a dog with a piglet Willem? These dogs are not used for hunting or fighting. -

A 'news' website has recently named the people and 'rescue' involved. And apparently they are completely refusing to surrender the dogs. -
Yeah just try again tomorrow lol. Maybe leave the tablets in his empty bowl to remind you?

The ferret rescue I volunteer for just bad an outbreak of canine distemper, so it's definitely still out there. This was in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Such great news Jules. :) I'm so happy for you and Amber.
