We don't get paralysis ticks in Melbourne. :)

The shop in Chirnside Park was quite a bad one. Always LOTS of puppies and kittens, unhealthy looking birds and small animals, etc. They closed down due to decling sales (which was hopefully a reflection on the store itself, and not due to a looming recession).

They are the most beautiful souls. I will always have at least one now. :)

Yep. :) I use Lilydale Produce though, so cheap! :)

Was that Chirnside Park? If so, they are closed for good. :)

Someone is giving away a 1yo entire male brindle greyhound, apparently with pedigree papers. Thought I'd post here because I didn't think there were many pedigree greyhound breeders? Let me know if you need the link.

You could ask your local vet to order one for you. They are hard to get though. I order mine through our wholesaler at work and they often go to back ordee, sometimes for weeks and weeks.

Not always, it can come and go. Be careful what you put in her eyes. Our clinic recommends cold callendula tea for mild allergies.

There is a blind GR competing in obedience in Vic, and has just started agility training. He was born blind (or almost blind, but is now totally blind).

Sorry ellz, my post wasn't aimed at you. Just explaining how the eye certificates work for the previous poster.

Sorry teebs, I misread the article. They are doing research on identifying a gene but they believe it is polygenic. I was reading this site. http://www.btneuro.org/ I have a chronic spinner and despite medical and behavioural treatment, she continues to get worse and will be PTS soon.

Vet board looks out for their own. I wouldn't bother.

The certificates aren't 'clear' - all issues are noted but the breeder can do what they want with the info. The specialist can recommend a dog not be bred, but that's it. Extra eyelashes and even entropion does not 'fail' a dog unfortunately. However one would hope that since distichia are a problem with staffords, that breeders would seriously think about breeding an affected dog.

There has been a gene located in bull terriers that is linked to spinning, so yes some breeds are genetically predisposed to spinning, tail chasing, etc. Don't punish her when she does it, just redirect her to something else.

How does 12 cups of food equal 13kg??

If his eyes are bothering, you need to find out why. He might have a problem with his eyes causing the irritation and goop.

I have five large dogs, would prefer 3 or 4. But thankfully they all get along and aren't too difficult to manage.

Does he have access to outside when you are out?
-
Where did you get her from? How often do you take her outside during the day? Is she doing a full-on wee or just small puddles? And does she have access to water overnight? It doesn't sound 'normal' to me so I would be concerned about an infection or some sort of incontinence.
