Well Jelly (how appropriate lol) finally went home at about 8pm tonight. :) Mum said her owners were very relieved. Mind you, I'm not sure Jelly wanted to go home by then hehe... ETA Sorry if I offended anyone with my comments on her weight, but she is hugely obese regardless of cause. But my post wasn't intended to bag her owner, I have no idea she is so big. I just thought she was cute and wanted to share. :D

It is bucketing down here now, so I'm glad she is warm indoors and not out in the cold somewhere! Geez I hope these people haven't gone away for the night! My parents won't be impressed haha

I wish she could stay! And mum would certainly get the kg's off her. :D But I'm sure her family love her - maybe too much... Still waiting...

Just spoke to mum and Miss Porky's owners still haven't come home. Luckily she is having a great time hanging out with my parents and their dog in the lounge room lol. ETA And yes she is obese! She must be pushing 30kg. She is almost square lol.

This naughty little pudding was loose on Mum's street just now so she is hanging out with us until her owners get home. She has done some renovations to her fence to get out - ie ripped off and snapped several of the brand new timber fence panels... I've left a note on their front door telling them where she is. She is so huge though! Like a big fat wombat lol! She is sweet as pie though. :)

I think I paid around $300 for my large breed female to be done recently. No consult needed, and no post op visits as I took the stitches out myself but it would have been included anyway. Price included fluids and pain relief etc. ETA: I think she weighed 23kg.

Dog Desexing, Bleeding Stitches?

That's exactly what happened to Bruno, but his bruising went all up his belly and down his legs! -
Dog Desexing, Bleeding Stitches?

Holy cow IggyLover! What happened there??? To the OP, my girl's wound oozed a bit of blood/serous stuff for a few days after surgery and she was fine. But that looks like proper blood so I'd call the vet. -
Love your work. :D

We use the green backed vet bed at work. It is very stiff and fluffy at first, it softens the more you wash it. It is quite dense so if you put two layers down, it would be quite thick. It does 'shed' a bit at first but we chuck it in the dryer and it helps remove the loose fluff.

Some Help With Cruciate Options Please
*kirty* replied to disintegratus's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I did a TPLO on my dog's first cruciate but when the second one went 6 months later, I opted to try medical management. She is sound on both legs and only limps after strenuous exercise. She is 12yo and weighs about 18kg. She has cartrophen injections, glucosamine and sashas blend to help with her arthritis. -
She looks like she has dropped a bit. She is so beautiful. :)

Can't wait to see puppy pics. :) One day I'm going to have a house full of Iggies!

So beautiful! I love seal IGs. :) Do you know what colours she could have?

As I said, he isn't their first pet and won't be the last. Their other dog and two cats have disappeared. The cats were less than a year old too.

I've passed on their details to hugurpup so if she wants to follow it up she can. :)

And $2000 for an oodle???

I was just liking posts on the page and it disappeared..

It is relevant anyway because people were discussing how a dog may end up in this state. The dog in this case is owned by a large, 'broken' family but there is nothing other than cost stopping them from grooming him. As I have said earlier, I do not wish to become involved as these people know me and are not the type I wish to upset.
-
I saw the dog yesterday for the first time since this thread started. He is still the same. Still can't get near him either!
-
I passed on his details to my friend but she is hoping to sell her house soon so the timing is all wrong. Sorry!

Any updates?
