  1. It looks like a variation of a hair lip. And the rest of his face looks odd too, like his eyes are too far apart. I'm sure he is a lovely dog but something went wrong while he was cooking.
  2. Sad to hear that sas, but you guys have done great work. :)
  3. On a segment he once took a family to Pets Paradise to buy a kitten. They made sure to show off the brand too. Total sellout.
  4. Also, do you different length blades, or do you put a comb on to adjust the length (hope that makes sense!). If the dogs you are grooming are matted or very dirty, the combs often won't go through. You might need to use a shorter blade.
  5. I use the Clipperman who is in Mulgrave. http://clipperman.com.au/
  6. Hope this doesn't see a spate of people getting IGs... We at Iggy Rescue are busy enough already!
  7. I've always had multiple dogs and never had an issue (with my own dogs) until a few years ago. I wasn't home when it happened so I'm not sure what started it, but my 2yo Great Dane ripped into my 2yo Greyhound. My husband struggled to separate them on his own, and the Greyhound suffered some very nasty wounds. I suspect the Grey may have triggered it because she can be nippy if another dog steps on her or something, but the Dane wanted to kill her from that moment on. We kept them completely apart for several months but when the Grey accidentally slipped out once, the Dane tried to kill her again. Our Dane had terrible HD and severe behavioural problems, and with two young kids in the house we opted to have her PTS. They Grey has never had an issue with other dogs since. I believe the attack was due to a combination of factors - two dogs very close in age, both female, and both similar size. Add to that one dog with an unsteady temperament. The Dane had NEVER showed signs of aggression towards the Grey before that first fight, in fact they were very close and always slep together.

    Columbus

So sorry Rozzie. What a long and happy life he must have had with you. RIP Columbus xx
  9. Not much help sorry, but I know liver problems cancause itchy skin.
  10. Our rats were coming from next door who have chookz. The dogs caught quite a few in the backyard and I think that helped deter them from coming back.
  11. We had rats last year and I refused to lay baits. We blocked any holes we could find, removed all access to food (make sure bin lids are properly closed, clean up any excess/spilt pet food, etc.) and then put out traps. As horrible as the traps are, at least they kill the rats quickly. We caught about 6-7 in the traps, but then they just seemed to move on.
  12. It's in Melbourne. The owner is not asking a fee, so transport might be an option. I'm hopefully going to meet and assess the dog this weekend.
  13. In my experience, people want kittens. The younger the better. Mine don't leave until 10-12 weeks but I was forever getting requests for 6-8 week old kittens! It is the frustration of cat rescuers everywhere! People think that kittens settle better, bond better, etc. Which of course is crap.
  14. Skin scrapings aren't that painful, and if the nose doesn't improve rapidly I would be demanding one. Regarding ringworm, it is HIGHLY contagious so if the vet suspects ringworm, don't take your puppy to dog parks etc.
  15. Her breeder was going to contact the BC Club, but not sure if she has. Good idea about the sports club, thanks. :)
  16. I've been contacted by someone needing to rehome a 1yo BC. She sounds perfect for a sports home - flyball, agility, etc. Does anyone know of someone looking for a dog like this? She is 1yo, desexed, chipped, etc.
  17. I've noticed that some dogs seek out eye contact with people, while others avoid it. And some breeds seem more likely to look for it. My herding mix Maisie definitely watches my eyes, while my sighthounds like looking lovingly into my eyes. :) Do your dogs like it/hate it/other?
  18. Haha that is like the perfect job for a dog. She must be in heaven. :)
  19. I'm so sorry to read this Kirislin. As you know, I went through this recently with my beautiful cat. For me, I could see he was starting to suffer and I knew it would only get worse. It was still the hardest decision to make. The only thing I'll add, is to ask your vet about Vivitonin. It is a drug that can help greatly with canine dementia. If her behaviour is due to dementia, it might be worth a shot.
  20. Definitely! My Greyhound goes mental when she sees another Grey or Whippet. She springs at the end of the lead and spins in circles. :) She also loves Deerhounds.
