  1. I saw them on your FB page lol
  2. I just saw pics, my dream dog! ????
  3. Pics from today. Her belly has 'dropped' and she is very uncomfortable. Going to set up the whelping box tonight. :) The brown spots are mud - she was running around outside before I got these lol.
  4. I have whelped 5 rescues litters, but never my own dog. I have a friend on standby to help of needed. :) Weighed the fatty today and she has now put on 2.1kg, over a third of her body weight!
  5. She was sitting on my lap at reception this morning and I could feel one of the puppies kicking away. Flipped her over and watched her belly jump around like the puppies were trying to escape lol.
  6. Jolie today - she has really popped now!
  7. You may have already seen, but my gorgeous Italian Greyhound, Jolie (Karindi Rain Cloud), is going to be a mum! She is due on the 14th of August, less than 2 weeks to go! Ultrasound at 4 weeks saw 5-6 puppies. :) This thread shall be my log of our journey. Jolie and baby-daddy Arrow (Karindi Shoot The Moon). Jolie is fawn, Arrow is seal. Expected colours are blue and seal, with a chance of fawn and red. Waiting to see the vet for the first scan... Puppies!! First pic shows one puppy in its sac, second pic is the same image with bits labelled. Getting big! Getting huge! I am lucky enough to have access to an ultrasound machine at work. It's been amazing to see the puppies develop over the last few weeks. This is the most recent ultrasound pic, I think about 6.5 weeks gestation. :) And last one for now, Jolie modelling her maternity jumper lol.
  8. There was a post on my FB today about Wedgies being killed by 1080.
  9. I'm so sorry, Loki was so loved and you two were obviously meant to be together. Thinking of you xx
  10. Please do some research for yourself on vaccination protocols. The AVA recommends vaccinations be given every 3 years. Over-vaccinating can be detrimental to your dog's health. I personally don't vaccinate for kennel cough so that bit doesn't concern me, but the kennel cough part can be given on its own if you want that.
  11. All vaccinations (except kennel cough) are now supposed to be given triennially. Unfortunately some vets like the money that annual vaccinations bring.
  12. I'd call the breeder vets - eg Monash, Chirnside Park, etc.
  13. Here is another similar story from several years ago - the council and police later said the reports were false. http://news.redland.qld.gov.au/2013/05/reports-of-attempted-dog-stealing-in-the-redlands/
  14. 15 minutes of fame? Who knows. It may be true, just doesn't make sense to me.
  15. Yes Dame Aussie, I think the guy with the Lab is full of it. I think the FB story is crap too. It's just scare mongering. As I said, if people wanted free dogs there are a thousand easier ways than to get council signs and uniforms made, find a common breed of dog (Lab or AmStaff) and then approach the owner.
  16. I still think it's bullshit. This exact same story was circulating on FB over a week ago, but in that story it was Casey Council. Why would anyone go to all that trouble over a Labrador? If dog fighters want bait dogs or BYB want breeding dogs, all they have to do is check Gumtree or FB buy and sell pages etc.
  17. I think it's worth a try. As you say, it can't be nice to be itchy and sore all the time. His ear problems might be linked to allergies too, so it might help with that as well.
  18. Pretty sure the recommended dose is half a tablet twice daily for 3 weeks. That is the protocol we follow for herpes and chlamydia.
  19. I would have both on doxy, 3 week course, and both on lysine.
  20. Macrolone is actually a very safe and useful drug. It will not have CAUSED diabetes, but it may have caused the signs to come on more rapidly. Your dog was always going to get diabetes. Once the diabetes is under control, the excessive drinking and peeing will stop.
