  1. There is no way that an obstruction is an illness! I would get a letter from your vet to say it was clearly an accident. God these insurance companies are unbelievable sometimes.
  2. I am so in love with them. I have tried to convince the breeder that I need to keep ALL of them but she isn't convinced hehe. How will I ever let them go??
  3. First real food today. :) Piggy in the middle lol
  4. 3 week old photos ???????????? Group shot Red 1 Fawn Seal 1 Seal 2 Red 2 Blue
  5. I use lysine for my cats and my only experience is using it for cats or cold sores. I'm pretty sure cat breeders avoid it during pregnancy. It will not stop the virus from being passed to the puppies anyway. All it does is reduce the virus's ability to replicate. So it reduces the number and severity of outbreaks.
  6. TNR = trap, neuter, release. A great option for stray/colony cats in urban areas. Not suitable for feral cats in the bush.
  7. The girls are now 2.5 weeks old, eyes are open and their little personalities are starting to shine. I'm so smitten!!
  8. A friend of mine is moving from Victoria to coastal Northern NSW. We have been looking into the best regimes to prevent fleas and ticks, plus worms and heartworm. Can anyone tell me what they use? Her dog is a 30kg Lab x and my friend is an underpaid vet nurse lol. Thanks!
  9. From personal experience only, the minis seem to have less spinal issues. Awesome little dogs. :)
  10. Pudding is home! She is bright and alert, but obviously still feeling a bit poorly. I gave her a bath and blow dry because she smelt like vet + gross stuff lol and now she is snoozing on the couch. So relieved, can't even explain it.
  11. Roopy Doop is happy to be back at work today. :)
  12. I've just spoken to the vet and Pudding can come home this evening!
  13. Thrilled to report that Pudding has regained consciousness! I am here at the vet now, apparently she woke up just before I got here. :) She is very weak and wobbly but she knows who I am and ate some roast chicken! I can't believe the improvement from when I visited her at lunch time.
  14. Pudding's bloods have come back relatively normal. Liver and kidney function normal. They did an enema which she objected to and wriggled a bit, so that's a positive sign. She will be monitored tonight again and obviously still on IV fluids.
  15. I've gone over the yard with a fine tooth comb and found nothing but half a dozen feathers. They ate every last bit. My big fluffies are very happy to be home. Now I just need Pudding to get better. She is a tough cookie, she has to get better.
  16. I've just picked up Toby and Rupert and they seem fine. ABs for 10 days and bland food but they should make a full recovery. Pudding has unfortunately hone backwards. She had a small fit and is now back to being unresponsive. The vets have run bloods and given a cortisone injection in case she has swelling on the brain. Also going to attempt an enema to flush her out.
  17. I thought they couldn't get to it. I have had to bury animals in the backyard before and they have never dug them up. I'm usually careful but obviously not careful enough this time.
  18. I am beating myself up about it. I am so annoyed with myself, just bloody stupid.
  19. Yes Jolie was inside all day with the babies thank goodness.
  20. Thanks for your thoughts. I have just spoken to the poor vet who has been up all night with them. Rupert is fine, he can come home. Toby has improved a lot, she is standing up and alert and causing trouble tangling her drip line. She can come home hopefully later today. Pudding is improving very slowly. She can now move her feet a bit and lift her head a bit. She is still very out of it. She will be in hospital for at least another day or two. I am allowed to go and visit them at lunch time. The vet is pretty confident that the issue is toxin from the rotten chicken, and not the lethabarb. He said the chicken dose of lethabarb divided by three dogs should be small enough to not be a problem. But I guess if Pudding ate the most, it may be affecting her more. We don't know how much she ate because we couldn't make her vomit.
  21. My dogs are all in hospital. Came home to find Pudding missing. Searched the backyard and found her unconscious and not beathing. Then realised Toby was staggering around like she was drunk. Got all the dogs and kids in the car and raced to the vet. All dogs made to vomit. Toby and Rupert vomited up bits of the chicken that PTS and buried on the weekend. Pudding intubated and on oxygen. Pia didn't eat any. Vet thinks it's severe food poisoning and the toxins are making them really sick. Rupert, Toby and Pudding staying in hospital on IV fluids. Pia allowed to come home. Toby and Rupert should be OK although Toby is also very sick. She can't stand up, can't get her balance, can't hold her head up properly. Rupert seems fine. Pudding is not looking good. We don't know how long she wasn't breathing. She may have brain damage from lack of oxygen. She is totally unresponsive but breathing on her on. She has been extubated and is maintaining O2 on her own. She has blink reflex but that's it. The vet said she could could recover but she may not. I feel like this is all just a bad dream. Pleas sends prayers or healing thoughts or whatever to my dogs. I am in shock and just can't believe this is happening.
