  1. My Belgian Shepherd Puppy is nearly 10 months old but she is locked in a run when I am not home and is locked in her crate at night. My 3 year old White Shepherd is out all the time except for at night when she is also locked in the crate. Both girls enjoy their crate time at night and their crates are also where they get fed. I don't feel guilty putting my dogs into crates at night as it keeps them safe and they sleep through the night except for waking me if they have to go to the toilet. My mum started out not liking the idea of the dogs locked in the crates but even she found that they were more obedient and they would happily go in the crate. I personally think crating is a personal choice. when you feel that your dog is ready to be allowed out of the crate unattended or at night that is up to you. I personally am glad that I have no worries about what my dogs are doing and they do enjoy it. plus all my training starts in the crates.
  2. Basicly when a breeder puts the dogs on Limited Register they are saying in their opinion the dog isn't show or breeding quality and they are to be desexed. If you want to show your new dog you are best to tell the breeders that straight up front as some breeders prefer not to have puppies in New Show Homes so best have that as one of your questions. Good luck deciding which breed to go for and I hope you find the exact puppy you want, and a very helpful breeder as they can be a big help when you are going to be showing for the first time :)
  3. Thought I'll come to this thread. My Belgian Shepherd - Shiloh - is now 9 months old and is very close to being an Australian Champion :) Once we have got that I am going to focus on Obedience as I want to trial her and eventually get to compete in agility as well. Here are some photos taken a few weeks ago by Cynthia Armstrong Photography A stacked pic of Shiloh and with my other dog Akasha (Australian White Swiss Shepherd)
  4. Hi Everyone, I recently downloaded a document from DogsQLD about what the dogs had to do to get through the different levels of obedience. I have now had my computer crash and have lost nearly all my data. I am wanting to start training my dogs so I can start competing but now I can't locate any of the info. Does anyone know where it can be found? Thanks in Advance
  5. I am just wondering at what age can the dogs/ puppy gain their Champion Title and at how many points? Thanks
  6. Are you getting another Samoyed? No, going in a very different direction this time. Much smaller and less . . . arctic. I'm getting a Havanese :D Nice. How long til you get the puppy?
  7. Good Luck waiting for your Belgian Shepherd, Who is your breeder?
  8. Yes I am extremely proud of her and am very happy with how she is growing. she is so high energy but she is exactly what I wanted in a dog. I am hoping to do Conformation Shows for starters and then obedience and agility plus anything else that I can find to train in :) so I think I may be having high expectations about what we are going to do but I will be working with her for a long time to come :)
  9. Belgenbeau is her breeder. here is her facebook. https://www.facebook...=1&l=3bd391cc7e ETA: This is a pic of her in a natural stand
  10. Flynn looks so happy congrats. Lovely Groenendael I just love the breed and just love the temperaments as well My pup is going through her gangaley stage at the moment though I'm hoping she will look ok for her first shows in March. If you don't mind me asking who is his breeder?

  14. Welcome to the Belgian Shepherd Club I also have a Groenendael puppy she is 4 months old now and is such a handful. I hope the 5 weeks goes quickly for you. Flynn sounds like a good name. :) Good Luck with your puppy
  15. I have been teaching my Belgian Shepherd puppy heeling and obedience work like we do at the club; for the show ring I am holding the lead higher then for obedience and having her moving out away from me. It seems to be working so far and I will be working through any issues as they appear.
  16. Thanks having got some advice from one of the suppliers I am going with the puppy gold formula until 6 months old then changing to showstopper
  17. Thanks she will be a lovely girl, I'll be taking her home tomorrow and she will be separated from her sister for the first time. Luckily I have my white shepherd which gets on with her extremely well so I'm getting excited :) I had been looking at the Belgians ages ago but chose to go the white shepherds but having found the right breeder (who lets me help show her dogs) I decided to go with this litter and the puppies have turned out fantastic. I'm so excited to see how Floss grows and I am almost 100% sure I will be changing her name but I just need to sit down with her one on one so I can figure out her name
  18. I would like to Introduce Floss (I'm not sure whether to keep the name or change it she started as sniffles )
  19. I am considering using Showstopper on my show puppy but I am not sure what age would be best to start her on it. So I am just wondering what age has others started there dogs on it and did you have any problems as a result?
  20. It pays to be organised in my house plus I've had too many dogs to not be organised. Well try to get some rest before he arrives you'll need it ;) they all sound like fantastic names :) I hope the snuggle puppy works for you because it didn't work with my last pup she just thought it was a toy to run around with :) hopefully my next puppy will use it correctly :) the wait is so hard but he sounds like one cute puppy!
