I have one I can gauarantee you can kick all day and all you will get is a sore foot.A lot of people think they know what they will do until it comes to the real thing then they freak and nothing they can think of will work.

In those situations I find a gun works best.lol.Seriously you can beat them, kick them and yell and scream all you want use a hose it will do nothing. I find a cattle prod is the easiest and most effective.

They are as stable as any other dog but can be feisty and certain individuals have be known to have a bit of dog aggression. What you have stated though is unacceptable in any breed and it is up to owners to have their dogs under effective control when out in public. If dogs have not been adequately socialised by owners then problems can arise. There are always more dominant individuals within breeds and it is up to owners to correct unwanted behaviours.I wouldnt say this is a breed specific problem but a problem across the board with dog owners.

On the whole they are more of a guard dog than the EM.i have owned both and can tell you the Neo is the better guard dog.I like Em's and they arent as slobbery and dont smell as much as Neo's lol but show breeding has taken the temp out of the EM.Lets face it the average person doesnt want a 200 pound dog that can guard do they. The italians bred them to be an estate guardian and thats what they are for the most part. The EM has been dumbed down and is a pale shadow of its former self. The Boerboel is more what the EM was and is heavily Bullmastiff bred. I know you own EM's and I dont want to discourage you just give you my opinion that is based on experience owning both and seeing quite a few of each breed over many years.

Why better cops turn up?Rangers in my state carry guns and can shoot dogs just as well as a cop can. They also have catch poles to catch dogs police do not.If the dog needs shooting by all means shoot it but dont torment it.All that is going to happen is make it more aggressive and risk some less than competent man in a blue uniform with something furry attahced to him. I would expect them to run around like headless chooks like they probably were.Maybe next time they will reasses the dog they choose to share their home with and they wont need to call anyone.

It doesnt matter if it was or wasnt a pitbull it isnt going to change people mind one way or the other. All I can say and I know I sound like a broken record. In 20 years of owning them I have never had one turn on me growl at me or attempt to bite me.The dog was either unstable or had something done to it.You also have to have a look at peoples motivation for owning a dog.If they want a guard dog then get a guardian breed. If you are not interesdted in putting the effort into a dog and giving it what it needs then get an alarm system.Lock a dog up in the back yard and dont spend time with it,dont socialise it dont give it any love or affection and you will reap what you sow. ETA. Also why do they always call the police in the event of a dog attack? They are not trained animal control officers.Pepper spray a dog and taser it and what do you think will happen? It will become aggressive.I guess that then gives them a reason to use there gun.Its kinda like going to the zoo and poking a lion with a stick to see what happens..Its going to get angry and then things are going to get ugly. Its not rocket science.

So what is a dangerous breed in your opinion?Anything bigger than a poodle and contains some bull breed? There is a fair amount of bull in your posts so they might be dangerous but only to the uninformed.lol.
-
Why is it you think pitbulls cant guard?Like I would beleive anything this moron claims maybe in his dreams.I dont promote pitbulls as guard dogs and many arent. In fact more arent than are but the good ones are as good as anything else. Its all about the dog not the breed. If you have seen a good one then you will know what I mean they will bring it as hard and fast as anything else on four legs.

You said it. What a total prat. Not exactly the way to try and impress someone- by beating up their dog. Sounds like he needs a psych assesment, if you ask me. Ditto I hope they gave him one of those coats that buttons up from the back

Didnt know that. Thanks for the info but I would still use them as I have never had a problem out of Perth bar a mix up with crates but if I am getting dogs out of Brisbane I will not use dogtainers fullstop.End of the day its who is competitive in regard to pricing.Jetpets has always been good over here and no problems. The guy that runs it over here is very good. Can you tell us whats the name of your service?
-
Ditto.i wouldnt lump them all in the same basket. However i would not use dogtainers out of Brisbane.I used them several times and there were issues and lies told to me about what was supposedly done and it wasnt.Several other people I know have had similar experiences with them.I still use Dogtainers just not Dogtainers Brisbane.

Rspca Proposals For A Mandatory Code For Puppy Farmers.
bulldogz4eva replied to minky's topic in In The News
I sense you dont like the RSPCA.Neither do I but I think it is more about the RSPCA getting in to bed with the goverrnment and doing the campaigning which to the average Joe sounds good but is more about the government getting their slice of your hard earned money that they werent getting before. In return they will give the RSPCA more funding out of your pocket. How did a pretty much a government/donation funded volounteer organisation beacome such a two headed monster? I hate to say it but I think it will push ahead anyway as they want your cash and the sad thing is only those that do the right thing and always have will suffer financially. Those who dont still wont comply and wont pay a cent and the puppy farms will still keep on farming. What a farce. -

I think you are getting ripped of.I pay half that for a crate and get more frames than that. -
Chicken Mince From Leonards Chicken
bulldogz4eva replied to a topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I dont think your fussy I wouldnt feed it either.I bought it a couple of times but the smell was that bad I threw it out. When the carcasses have been sitting there for a few days in their own blood and then minced its not really that hygenic and I value my dogs a bit more than that. I do feed frames as well but I prefer to fed chicken necks or chicken by itself. -
Hon.d.boyle Kill Amstaffs Set Pit Bulls Free?
bulldogz4eva replied to tybrax's topic in General Dog Discussion
Well I guess we see it differently I knwo the last time was in the seventies and when you are talking 35 years or so that is nearly half as long as the amstaff has been around and in that long you can breed 20 generations deep so in dog breeding terms it is a long time. -
Hon.d.boyle Kill Amstaffs Set Pit Bulls Free?
bulldogz4eva replied to tybrax's topic in General Dog Discussion
No there is not.The ADBA has never knowingly registered amstaffs as pitbulls ever.Considering you have to supply papers from another registry to single register dogs it cant happen. If you are talking about people hanging papers on pups that happens everywhere but why would someone be stupid enough in this country to hang pitbull papers on amstaffs.I think you may be right it may be 3 times they have opened their studbooks but the las time was a fair while ago and it will never happen again. There gene pool is now wide enough it doesnt need the blood. The dogs are so distinguishable in this country, not so in the US where lines have been crossed back an forth for ever.Of course all the major lines come from fighting lines that is their history but 75 years of show breeding has moved them far enough in the opposite direction.I agree that canine councils should have done more to nip it in the bud and oppose bsl instead of saying we oppose bsl and doing nothing else.At the end of the day do you blame them?I used to but I dont now.If the dogs werent registered with them it is not their fight. Why would they invest time and money into something that is not their fight so the irresponsible can continue to be irresponsible. Its hard to swallow I know but that is the crux of it.By the looks of it they have done something. Congratulations to all concerned at getting a favorable outcome -
Hon.d.boyle Kill Amstaffs Set Pit Bulls Free?
bulldogz4eva replied to tybrax's topic in General Dog Discussion
Sorry but they are not one and the same dog. Some may look the same but in this day and age they differ considerably in this country. In the US you will find dogs that are far more closely related. The ADBA does not issue papers to Aussie Amstaffs nor have they ever, you may be confusing it with the UKC who did register Amstaffs as pitbulls. This however does not happen anymore. As of April 30th this year the UKC has stopped single registrations of American Pitbull Terriers. No more will be registered unless bred from already registered UKC stock. The AKC does not open its stud book to pitbulls either. It has happened twice for short periods and the last time was a long time ago.Posting misinformation does not help the situation.I dont think the confusion about DNA is becuase people think they have a pitbull I dont actually think the test is that accurate.people have sent in samples from pure bred dogs and they have comeback with varying breeds in the mix.The pitbull gene pool is diverse and would in my mind be harder to pin down.Boston Terriers were bred down from pitbulls in the halcion days of dog fighting in and around Boston so they are a pitbull cross not the other way round. -

Rspca Proposals For A Mandatory Code For Puppy Farmers.
bulldogz4eva replied to minky's topic in In The News
Welcome to the brave new world. This has been touted in NSW for some time and now here it is.They will let you come and have your say, even listen to what you say then do it anyway. They are not interested in your point of view.Just like BSL they will rail road it through. This is the beginning of the end of dog ownership and is not as much about puppy farmers as it is about the government encroaching on your civil liberties and getting their slice of the pie. They control what you sell and get there cut through fees every year.As far as I am concerned they can go F*** themselves. Once again the governement and the RSPCA will use each other to hoodwink the public into thinking they are doing something for animal welfare in this country while the real puppy farmers will still thrive and you as registered breeders will get screwed.Stop donating money to the RSPCA and when it is no longer viable for the government to continue to fund them they will disappear. I find it disturbing but not surprising. If you look back over legislation in this country there is always a consistent theme. The 'Give em enough rope mentality'.They do nothing until things get out of hand then throw out some ideas, hold some meetings and push through what they want.Is this the sign of a democracy?I think not.By all means go and tell them what you think. If i was there I would tell them they can stick it where the sun doesnt shine.
