  1. Hello, I have a friend who is very interested in this dog. She lives in Galwer and just wanted a bit more detail. If you could email me on [email protected] or just message on her that would be great. would love to help rehome him.
  2. Here is a video of how Jessie has recovered. We are very grateful for Dr John Punke and his team from VetSAIR in SA for all their hard work. We couldnt have made this girl future better without all of your help. Jessie is now looking for her forever home. I will be chosing very carefully as she is a special girl with so much love to give. Thank you again to everyone for your support.
  3. Hello Everyone, Sorry I didnt get on here sooner. I have only had time to post on facebook due to Jessie needing extra attention. Yes Jessie has had her operation to correct her leg. She did really well for a 6hour surgery. The Dr had a few issues with the methods he had chosen to striaghten her leg. He was able to get it 34 degress straighter so she has a 24 degress angle instead of a 58 degress. He was unable to lengthen her leg as plan but due to the straightening she will be a lot happier walking on it :) Another update on dear Jessie. She slept really well last night. Ate all her breaky and is now laying down on three beds lol but she deserve comfort. She is walking around without using her leg but I trust she wont use it for a week. I want to Thank you Dr John Punke and his team at Vetsair for all Their hard work and generosity. We are very grateful ♥ Also, Thank you for everyones support and kind words for Jessie. She is such a brave girl. She was a hit down at the vet clinic due to her great character and beautiful markings. She will be on pain killers for 2-3 days and in a cast for a bit more the 4 weeks. She will not be allowed out to run for 8 weeks. I have seen the xrays of her leg and though there is a slight angle it isnt not as bad as what she was dealing with. Again I thank each and everyone of you. And I'll have you know that this experience has inspired me to study to become a veterinarian.

  11. Any concerns Deadwombat had could have been raised in a courteous manner, without the smartarsery. Jess and Trish, I have spoken to Fiona and am donating to Jessie's fix-my-leg fund. Thank You so much I really do understand where people are coming from. I have been posting Jessie's story everywhere and simply asking for help. Some people dont understand that if you donate $1 or $2 it goes so far. We are just asking for some help. We are organising a fundraising BBQ outside PETstock. I also make dog collars and coats in my spare time and all of the money made goes to Jessie. We are almost half way there.
  12. *****I have been advised that donations can be made straight to the Vet surgery you can call them on 0871278370 and speak with Fiona to make donations, or e-mail Fiona at [email protected]. If people make bank transfers, they will need to e-mail us as well so we can make sure it gets accounted for in our computer as a credit for Jessie. Thanks everyone.*****

  15. This is Jessie. Jessie lives in South Australia. She is turning 1 on the 1st of April. We recent rescued Jessie from the Port Augusta pound where she had been dropped off by her previous owners. As you can see she has a deformed left front leg. We have taken her to the vet's for the first time in her life and we were told that her leg was injury as a puppy and one of her growth plates had stopped growing. Resulting in he leg bowing over. We have had x-rays done and have now been referred to a specialist. We have been told the cost for her operation will be in the thousands. We are asking everyone if you could please spare some money to help Jessie get back on her feet that would be much appreciated. We need your help to let everyone know about Jessie's story. She will hopeful soon be able to walk like a normal dog She is now being fostered with my family until we can find her a suitable home. Here is some information about Jessie's Proposed Operation if we can raise the $3000 dollars: Basically in normal cases they would cut a wedge out of the bone to help straighten out then leg and them attach an external device onto the leg to stabilise it and to help it grow this can take a few op to get it fully straight. The healing time is about 4 months, in Jessie's case her leg is 7 cm short then her other leg so cutting into it will only shorten it. So the vet has advise there is another way. It will only take one operation and he will insert a plat into Jessie's bone to make it a few cm longer and then cut the wedge to straight the leg out. There will be no need for the external device as the plate is the support and she will have a bandage on for 2 weeks. I would like to say a big thank you in advanced to VetSAIR- Veterinary Surgical and Advanced Imaging Referrals www.vetsair.com.au who are donating their time and expertise and doing the surgery for the cost of materials, we really appriciate their efforts and kind hearts. Please donate to http://www.gofundme.com/hbhdo
