The worst thing is when it boils down to it, purebred breeders are working to breed sound, healthy dogs for the future, but we are made immoral cause we have inbred dogs, as apparently that how show dogs are bred. Yet its ok for someone to sell a pup from Xbred non health tested parents, leaving the new puppy owner with a possible ticking time bomb of expensive vet bills or worse. As much as we can try when ppl hear purebred/pedigree the first thing that comes to mind is OMG thats going to cost me a fortune... Most will look at do i buy a puppy from this purebred person for say $1500 or Bob down the road who has a purebred litter for $100... As long as there is a demand for them, they will still be around

Why do we need more breeds?? Why do we need to create a ne breed when we have breeds that already fit that purpose... Labradoodles where created and failed, they only exist now is because DD farmers and apparent Associations are cashing in on the fad, many are randomly bred with from poodles or labs that where sold as pets. They crossed the poodle with the lab to get the poodle coat with a lab temperment (poodle still has the better temp  )... yet after 20yrs they still cannot produce entire litters that produce true and breed true... Yes many of our current breed where bred from numerous other breeds, by why should we surrender a current breed for something new that doest work??? Even the Guy that orgianally started breeding them has openly admitted he made a big mistake in them...

I use a Chamois, bristle or Rubber Curry.. Cant really see the point when someone uses a slicker on a smooth coat. But the dryer also helps blow out the dead coat. If you wanna do it at home get a good Barrel Dryer (pressure switch or knob to adjust the air force) with a pointed Nozzle blow them dry and use a damp Chamois, works for us with my Terrier x

They would be basic $20/dog (so $60 to do all 3) if they would come randomly, but if regular and consistant then $50 - but that my prices

Sometime i think people ring up and place the adds have an accent or something... and the person on the other end must think its a new breed, casue seriously when you see a list of them in the paper one under each other and see... German Shepard, Germun Sheppherd and then German Sheep Dog Off to read Petlink heaps of mispelt breads on there... -
B) Somewhat lol Most of my dogs i have altered their food after bringing them home, 1 i wasnt told what they fed their puppies..!! 2 i kept to watch their breeder was feeding and changed over to what i was feeding and preferred and One i place on puppy food cause it breeder was feeding it adult food... Then there was the pup that came home with the diet sheet.... If i had stuck to it... I would have had a very fat puppy

Some breeds dont take well to newbies too, When i started out in one of my breeds I was grooming wrong apparently, everyone else knew this but me, word spread through the grape vine till it came back to me from someone from another breed... Then there are the people that will go out of their way to help newbies, which is the best asset for any breed As for ribbons... yes there is a lack of prizes these days, some shows you have to go to the secretary office to get your ribbon - Unless its a international judge then the ribbons appear seriously is it that hard to have ribbons at the ring, not all exhibitors will take them but there will be the some!!!
-
Bundy's mum your no fun Yeah i got the email today and altered it lol

the ANKC and CC's need to start campaigning to the general public... Yeah the cost of an Oodle compared to a purebred... Then the expensive oodle gets dumped in the pound cause it sheds or is the non-allergenic like the poodle!!!
-
I know that too ozwildflower, having Standards as well im constantly getting emails and the occassional phone call wanting to breed their Lab or Oodle cross to my dogs!!! Like this woman that sent me an email asking if she could breed her lab to my Male Poodle, casue she had been rejected by numerous other lab breeders and wanted to have a litter with her bitch

My Trip To Pet Barn Yesterday I was at my local Pet Barn buying a large bag of Purina dog chow for my loyal pet, Ella, the Wonder Dog , and was in the checkout line when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. What did she think I had, an elephant? So since I'm retired and have little to do,,, on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I was starting the Purina Diet again... I added that I probably shouldn't, because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 40kgs before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IV's in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with my story.) Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food poisoned me. I told her no, I stepped off a curb to sniff an Irish Setter's ass and a car hit us both. I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard. Costco won't let me shop there anymore.. Better watch what you ask retired people. They have all the time in the world to think of crazy things to say. Forward this (especially) to all your retired friends......it will be their Laugh for the day.

I still hope to be in my breeds for the next 30yrs + i want my breeds to be around for my next generation to see

and thats why breeds are going down the crap hole... People are more worried about competition then bettering the breed, if your worried about competition then your better off getting a breed with no competition but yourself... Im not personally attacking you Zensu but that line I hear quite common with people who are looking for stud dogs and it really bugs me that people put competition before the breed... While I am not overly worried about competition I have sometimes wondered how fair it is when you have spent thousand importing and everyone thinks your competition should be able to access those same lines for the price of a stud fee? Really? So then I can access your lines for the price of Puppy that you breed to your bitch...? Im in the process if organising an import within the next 5-10yrs if someone came to me and asked to use my stud, I would be happy to allow them to use my expensive import for the cost of the stud fee if i agreed with their breeding practices and if the lines suited. Whats the point of the import/breeding if your not bettering the breed, you import may help another exhibitor better the breed... But then somepeople will wait deney them a stud, they'll wait for puppy to get the line, deny them a pup they'll wait for a friend to buy one and then use their dog...
