  1. you can own them and buy as many as you want, you just cant use them.

By the way, stay away from the chrome plated HS collars they're rubbish, go the solid stainless in all of the HS range and you wont regret it.

Looking for friend who is in VIC.... Stainless steel would only really be beneficial if you are using it around water all the time....

Pictures taken about a month ago...

  3. I have a 2008 sportswagon (think it's a VE as it seems to have less room in the boot but no idea lol) and can easily fit my Vizsla and our Kelpie x BC in the back. They're anchored in and in harnesses and when going long distances like we have this week their extra large bed also goes in the back too. I can take a pic with both boys in it tomorrow if you want? I want to get puppybars or similar in mine but OH won't let me :(

Yeah sounds like a VE if it is a 2008 sportswagon.

Where do you anchor them to ? the lugs in the boot or the seatbelt in the rear seat ?

I can't trust my girl so I need to use a crate. I have a cheap 36"| wire crate which is okay for the time being but would love to find someone that has made a custom fit one for the boot.

  4. Yep, the VE has about half the room of the VY and VZ. Not as long and the roof slopes down a lot more. I have a VY because it easily fits two 36" crates in the back with the seat up. I doubt you would get one in a VE.

They fit, just a tight squeeze.... I am hoping the one I tried at a shop last week was the bigger of the 36" crates I have seen.

I just got one from ebay that was a few cms smaller then others on ebay.

  5. Has anyone successfully put a crate in the rear of this vehicle without having to fold the back seats down ??

I tried putting a 36" wire crate in it today... It fits... Kind of but not really. I am now looking at getting something that will fit easy and be cost effective... A 30" wire crate would be too small.... :\

  6. Is Hubblebarn selling bulk supplies of meat? I know when he first opened he was going to but ended up only selling small packs. Is he doing bones as well?

I have been using the fresh meat store but I rang two weeks ago & was told I would get a delivery on Saturday. I have rung 6 times & left messages but no delivery or returned phone calls.

    Thanks

    Greg

Yeah there is a list. Best to order on Thursday and pick up Friday so I have been told.

I picked up a few frozen bones the other day. Big chest freezer full of assorted bones.

Is that the just4dogs website that no longer works ? I asked for some samples from them ages ago. Never arrived, I called back to buy some.. Never arrived....

Rumour has it that Petbarns bone supplier is changing and Petbarn may be having a big sale on bones...

  7. If you want one in that area, Chris at Colyton Vet is very knowledgeable and caring. Linked with Rossmore and Quakers Hill, so if imaging ect is required then he has some of the best equipment at his disposal.

Don't be put off by the size of the clinic.

Thanks this is where the family has been going for a long time, even when Tom used to own it.

I just thought there might be something better around....

Colyton vet is also in the process of building a new place at the same location too.

  9. Awesome work Yorto.

We have identical units and the same problem, less the phone line.

Can you please tell me, what are the crimps or similar that you have joining each panel, how are these purchased and crimped please?

What guage is the mesh and is this a Bunnings purchase?

We are keen to copy your idea, if you don't mind :D

The crimps are J clips. I bought I think a pack of 100 for about $4-$5 at Bunnings and they sell the J clip pliers with about 20 J clips for $9.95. Because I like a good bargain I bought 2 sheets of the wire mesh from a local produce and rural fencing centre for $29 a sheet, each sheet 2400x1200, Bunnings is $44.90 for a sheet at 1800x1200.....

I didn't use j clip pliers, I just used a normal pair of pliers, it took me a few goes to get the hang of it but once the 2 bits of wire mesh have been folded in the clip it's just a matter of folding the shorter side of the clip in tighter and then the remainder of the clip around.

To mount the cage to the brick work I just bought 2 lengths of galvanised strapping 600m. It looks like this (http://www.ryanairco...sed.banding.jpg) All I did was cut them into individual sections with 2 holes and bent them over to make a u mount type bracket. I will take some pictures of them for you.

  10. So after finding a piece of insulation from the air con hose from Jet who loves to chew everything I thought it was time to put a cage around the units. I also have a phone line running in behind the unit in the picture I had to put in a sleeve.

I phoned a few places and found they wanted to charge at least $150+ for basically the same. In doing 2 units I spent about $70 and still have some spare wire mesh to fix up an outdoor power outlet.

  11. Does anyone have contacts on who to speak to from the council in relation to maintaining these parks ?

I'd just call Penrith Council and ask who you need to speak to.

    Hurrah for thread resurrection!

I have tried this to no avail, even several emails haven't been replied to for just on 3 weeks. Going to try and call again tomorrow.

I was reading someone suggested that the council should divide the park in 2. An area for large dogs and an area for smaller dogs which I think would be good.
