Nova and I met a Great Dane breeder/exhibitor at lunch today. Very nice people, gave us lots of hints for the show coming up :)

Thats good to know Dotdashdot. I might be doing the local show here in a few months with Nova and his breeder, glad to know the judges are generally nice :)

Does it get twisted in Koda's coat? I know Nova is a bit fluffier than Koda, but Nova's coat keeps getting pulled. As soon as he is big enough I'll be getting him a rolled leather collar that should help. -

Thanks guys, I think he is a handsome bugger, and yea Jack I think he knows it too. As my mate says, he's great to carry around because 'he gets all the bitches' Lollipup it's a size Small and sits perfectly, and its on a fairly small setting so hopefully he won't grow out of it as quick! I agree Envy's parents are gorgeous dogs. I'd love a Mal, but not sure if I could handle one! -

Thanks Tikira, I'm really looking forward to working with him as he gets older. Looking extra forward to 10 days after his next injection! I can start walking him more places! He is getting heavy, 5.5kg today! Putting on about 1kg a week. Steph M, I have been doing TOT with Nova, it's pinned either at the top of the puppy thread or the training thread. Getting some nice focus out of him with it. -
How did Tyrion go last night?

Wow I did not notice his coat has grown I just went back and looked through all my photos (I have heaps!) Not sure if he's gotten fluffier or because I had to bath him and let him air dry in the sun it's just sticking up funny now. -

Yea I had the Ezydog stuff for Sam, but they will probably never fit Nova! You are lucky with that harness! I currently have Rogz stuff, but he will probably chew/grow out of everything fairly soon. Thanks for the tip, I thought it might of been good because he seems to get a bit 'over stimulated' sometimes with tugging, but maybe thats a good thing for the future I read about teaching it early in one of the books (can't remember which one now) that was suggested to me on DOL. He already has a rock hard grip and holds on like crazy but I'll hold off with the Out and keep working on the shaping :) I love watching him think! -
Congratulations RRPS, I've never seen a blue standard poodle so I hope to see lots of puppy pics :) Excited for you Lhok!! Dotdashdot, I repeat, I want one of your future Dals :)

Lollipup how does well does that Ezydog harness fit Envy? We tried on heaps of harnesses at the pet store (re-sized heaps of them) but the only one that was a close fit is still too big for him, it restrains him in the car, but if he is walking he can twist out of it. I didn't try the Ezydog harnesses as they were quite expensive (and obviously he will grow out of it fairly quickly) but I think I will need to try and find one that fits perfectly for some long line work. -

Envy is so gorgeous! I'm super impressed by Nova again today! Did some short training sessions this afternoon. Working on 'out' with the tug; transitioning from sits, drops, stands; various recalls; and a little bit of shaping with the clicker and he is starting to offer behaviours when the clicker comes out! We did paw to hand targeting and have done a bit of paws on the phone book -

Argh Nova just scared the begeesus out of me! He is in his crate and I heard this loud panicky wheezy noise, I thought he was choking, nope just fast asleep having some weird dream. I've never heard that noise come out of a sleeping pooch before! I woke him up and he just wiggled at me, he's fine. -
If you are handy you could make your own :) I made mine and ended up costing under $40. Similar ones online were around $200 for a 32inch size.

Sumo is just amazing!! Nova is growing so fast! I can already notice his head changing and I think his legs are getting taller. Strutting his stuff Eating bugs Fast asleep, using the couch to stretch out completely! -
Boston Terriers and Australian Shepherds fit the same collar?
-
I'm glad people support it here. Dals are my dream dog, but their urinary problems have always put me off. I think the whole program is amazing! I will have one one day! Best of luck with all your plans. I'm so excited for you Lhok! I hope it all works out

Thanks again Aliwake! I actually tried the staring down thing this morning and it worked quite well. Had to repeat it a few times but now he just calms right down and lays down. Houemate is still asleep but I'll show her what to do when she wakes up and hopefully we can nip this in the bud ASAP.

Thanks for the tips Aliwake, we had lots of success tonight with timeouts, he seems to be worse with my housemate, and he actually tried to hump her! So it's definitely a dominance thing, but I taught her how to put him in his place and to keep it consistent and we are already seeing some changes. I'll keep you updated on how we go :) Boxbright, Since my first search I waited almost 2 years. Waiting for this particular breeder, was about 10 months. It's hard but completely worth it. Appart from his new found barking, he is such a good boy. Dotdashdot, I want to be on your puppy list for an LUA Dal in about 5-10 years
