  1. My vet does 2nd vac one month after the 1st vac. So Nova is getting his done this friday at 10 weeks as his first was done at 6. But I think it also varies on the brand used.
  2. Dory try a fishing/camping store like BCF. Fishing vests have lots of pockets
  3. Hope no one here uses their first street or middle name as security questions
  4. Oh and I spent my doggy budget this morning by buying a glorified bumbag. Got a Doog Walkie Belt. Actually pretty handy
  5. If Nova keeps gaining like he is he might end up being bigger than Koda. He was 5.5kg last friday at 9wks. Gaining bit more than 1kg per week. I'll see what he is this friday for his Vac. Daisy.tea not sure if you mentioned this before but where did you get Atticus from? He's growing well too.
  6. Girl from the wrong side of the tracks but artistically gifted. I was going to go with Mexican Hooker. Candice isn't terribly Mexican though. I was thinking that a Hispanic man married a woman from Kansas and Candice is the result but her dad is in gaol and her mum is on drugs and so she is lost and rebelling....or something along those lines.... I might be getting too into this  Interestingly my father IS Spanish.

  8. We had a lot of trouble keeping weight off Sam when he was good. He would gain weight with anymore than 2 cups of food a day. But with flare ups he would be on 6+ cups a day and dropping weight. Constant struggle. Being extra careful with Nova, he's put on about 1kg each week in the two I've had him, he gets his food split into 3 meals, one of those used as training treats. Anymore treats needed during the day and dinner gets cut back. It's harder to tell from sight with all his fluff (and it's been a while since I've had a pup) but I can easily feel his ribs and to me he's looking great. I'll see what the vet says on Friday
  9. I've replied on the Aussie thread Jack :) So must of just been an off few days for Nova, because he's back to being a cuddle pie. Spray of a water bottle does not stop him from attempting to jump on the couch. He opens his mouth and tried to drink it. Too smart for his own good
  10. I've done the same as Trinabean, but under strict vet instructions. Because allergies can be from even the smallest things, you have to be wary with doing elimination diets and making sure the dog is still getting all of it's nutrients. For new proteins, Kangaroo is great, have you thought about Venison or Goat? I was lucky enough to have a dog food butcher that we could source meats from, if you have one near by it might be good just to go down and have a look Kangaroo worked for us.
  11. What about those icky Yakult probiotic things. Don't know if they are of greater benefit than good yogurt but I have a nutritionist friend who swears by them :) Edit: HW got there first
  12. Are these a reply to me? My dog couldn't handle RAW food either. My dog died due to a a severe stomach disease and allergies, not due to my 'ignorance and laziness'.
  13. I dried Nova as much as I could with the towel and then let him lay in the sun in the lounge room. Pick a Sunny day
  14. Ah great thank you :) Speaking of teething, I am currently feeling super sorry for all the teething pups, as my wisdom tooth (thats been annoying me for a few days now) just decided to break through the skin about 15 minutes ago. No tugging for me
  15. Don't be sorry Lollipup, it's always good to learn more :) For example, am I right with no tugging at 3 and 4 months? Smashtank those photos are great! He looks at home in the city :)
  16. All beautiful photos.I love the shot of the Iguana CC!
  17. Well, just after I wrote that guess who came up to me for cuddles. I love cuddly dogs, one of the reasons I picked him out was because he was cuddly, I do hope he doesn't grow out of it completely.
  18. Casper is gorgeous! Congratulations, the last two weeks are the hardest Thanks Whippy, I have little idea what makes a dogs go from 'nice' to show potential. I can tell the ones that are from working lines though But the Dane breeders we met thought he was stunning and 'unique markings to what we currently see in the ring' which according to them may work for or against him. He doesn't have the flashy white markings which I have noticed are in a lot of shows. Surely there are better things than colour though :) I have noticed the dogs that win of all breeds move really nice and smoothly :)
  19. Just wondering if you guys have any experience with the following. Nova was a very cuddly dog (with me only) and would come up and cuddle on my lap all the time (on his own accord), the last 2 days he has been refusing to come over to cuddle, he'll come over and sit down next to me and even then walk away and lay down elsewhere. I think a lot of it is he seems to be over heating a lot (too much puppy fluff!) and wanting to lay on the wood floors but also wondering if it might be a stage he's going through or i'm doing something wrong? It's been a long time since I had a puppy and don't quite remember. I THINK I remember Sam going through a similar stage. He is still happy to see me when I've been out, and happy to play. He did go through a barking stage and being a bit dominant over my housemate which is getting heaps better with small timeouts, and we did try the growling back at him, but apart from that all his training is positive. I'm still carrying him everywhere when we go down town etc so perhaps he is just sick of being on my arms?
  20. Probably at the Wagga show, so early October. It still depends on whether his breeder still thinks he has potential in a few months. I'd be happy to stick to sports if he doesn't. :)
