  1. That's great lollipup! Sounds like she's going to be a nice sized girl. Just curious but what is she like at home? With that thread in general we keep hearing how hard Mals are, which I don't doubt. But how are they as a baby pup?
  2. Possible future play date Nova came from about 20 minutes west of Albury actually.
  3. Thanks Whippy and Zereuloh, I'm in Wagga, about 1hr 1/2 north of Albury :) Thats great about Tyrion :) Training is coming along great with Nova, yesterday I taught him to target a coaster :)
  4. Thanks Smash, Merle dogs can have more pink on them due to the merle gene, but depending on the lines can fill in (Breeder says their lines generally fill in completely by 12months). Some can be really quick, others can take years. For showing I THINK they need to be 75% black by 12 months.
  5. They don't smell at all after chewing antlers, great for preserving puppy breath I got the Naturally shed ones. Nova chews and slobbers on his and it hasn't gotten slimy or smelly.
  6. Whippy it is colouring in quite well, every day there is either a new freckle or his others are getting bigger, I just took some photos so I'll upload one from the week we got him and one of today for comparison. So day we got him at 8weeks. Today at 11weeks.
  7. Oh my god Cassie! I was just about to ask the same thing as Sujo! Are they the same size already? Thanks Sujo :)
  8. I'm not sure, most other baby Aussie's I've seen aren't that fluffy or thick! I'll see his breeder and sister first weekend of August so I'll find out then.
  9. Oh thats sad about the obedience club, there was a huge amount of people when we used to go.
  10. I posted this and others in the Aussie thread to show a brushing comparison but he's so fluffy that I think the photo is pretty cute He has an extremely fluffy butt.
  11. What happened to the Obedience club? And I thought there was also a Delta Trainer in Orange, I forget her name but she had an old chocolate lab.
  12. Nova gets a 3rd of a turkey neck most days (they are HUGE!). He's also had a big cut open beef shin bone. Before all of this his breeder advised giving him chicken frames first until he realised he must chew things and not swallow them. I won't give chicken necks, way too small and easily chocked on for my liking.
  13. Odd, Nova has had his for 2 weeks now, doesn't smell at all he chews on it every day. Can you get dodgy antlers? I got mine from Petstock.
  14. but I made my own chicken stock for the first time the other week to make chicken soup. It was 1000x better than making it with bought stuff!! Mmmm so yummy!
  15. Antlers! And they don't smell or go gross like bones so they can have them inside
  16. Not sure of the DOL bashing because I haven't been around long enough. But I caught up with my old boys (lab) breeder at the end of last year and she mentioned she still wont go into chocolate labs because there aren't many that are high quality
  17. Congratulations Lhok!! Treble is a great name and Woah! What a big boy!
  18. Blocking the hole with peanut butter might be a bit hard for him if he doesn't get it yet. Nova is hopeless at them, so he just gets dry kibble at the moment until he figures out how to empty it. Hopeless at Kongs but too bloody clever for his own good! I had a late day at uni today and finished at 6, came home to him balancing on an empty outdoor setting box (waiting to get taken to the tip) that is about 1.5meters high!!! He would of had to climb up and then balance across a ledge about 5cm wide then jump up and across to it!!! How on earth can a puppy who still falls over to run do that! Scared the shit out of me, no idea how long he was stuck up there, but he waited for me to get him down thank god, box is now crammed in the shed.
  19. Thanks Teekay. Ive got a copy of his dads MDR1 certificate and it says it was done by AnimalNetwork too so I think I'll get it from them. I've heard of Carriers having problems with surgeries so I'll get it done ASAP. You never know what might happen. Thanks everyone else and special thanks to Haredown Whippets, I got some Proheart today :)
  20. Our Puppies share Birthdays!!! Nova is 11wks today!!!
  21. Thanks Teekay, Luka doesn't have any problems with the Milbermax? I think I'll go with what HW suggested anyway :) Plus Nova is a boy (It's a unisex name I checked)! He very much likes to show that fact off to the world when he is sleeping I think I'll get order the test kit, and get it done at at his next injection.
  22. Best of luck Lhok! I got Nova at 8 weeks, but I have noticed a lot of smaller breeds are taken later
  23. Thanks HW! :) I think I might get him MDR1 tested just so I know if I need to worry or not when it comes to the bigger things.
  24. Like HW I don't do flea prevention. No ticks here either.
  25. This is probably done to death but I'm a little lost. I've never done heart worm prevention before, with Sam we lived in a cold climate and every vet told us not to bother and we never had a problem. We also just got his worming tablets from the vet. Now I'm in a hotter place and Nova needs his stuff next week. Following breeder instructions and recommendations I have already intestinal wormed Nova with Drontal puppy syrup stuff (the pink one), and we have some left for next go round, and breeder has recommended any tablet that just does heart worm and for after syrup any intestinal wormer as well There is a lot of those! Are some better than others? Any recommendations. Also for future worming would you suggest using two different products or go for one of the combined ones like Interceptor? When he is older heart worm is every month but intestinal is every 3, so giving the combined every month just seems like a lot of unnecessary intestinal worming to me. Also tell me if I'm wrong but from reading about some, it seems that most brands are fine to use on collie breeds at the correct dose. EDITED to add: Of course I have asked the breeder what she used on her adults but she uses diluted vet stuff that I wouldn't feel comfortable trying to figure out. Obligatory puppy pic included.
