Well that seems a lot harder to me, I don't have to worry about the kids! I think this time I'll have to leave my extra suitcase of shoes home First world problems. I do have to take some textbooks with me for some study though. -

Has anyone travelled with their pups yet? What essentials did you take? I'm going back to Orange for about a week in a few days, and just thinking how I'm going to have to have my suit case plus now all Novas stuff like crate, food, toys (so he doesn't destroy mums garden), and everything else all in my little Kia Rio! Oh and plus the dog! I think I need a bigger car! -

Nova has officially become of a size for people to be scared of him We went for a walk and had to cross a small bridge, there was a lady coming across so I made Nova sit a few metres away from the bridge until she crossed (wasn't sure if there was enough room for possible squirmy puppy). And the lady almost ran past me, and then said Sorry but I don't like big dogs. I always feel sad for people like that, I wouldn't class Nova as a big dog at the moment. -

I read that study when Sam was diagnosed. Although Our vet gave Sam's prognosis up to 3 years (this was before the IDB recurrence). WSM, I'm glad you are getting extra time with your boy -
Yea, other way around, Heartworm every month, Intestinal 3 monthly (depending on the age of the dog).

Tyrion is almost 4 months, No tugging while teething between 4-6months! But you might need to work on his prey drive, try using a flirt pole of some sort (there are some here), I have a tug thats on the end of a 1m long leash like rope, I tried to find the link for you on Clean run but it's gone What you can do though is get him to chase something fun (for this Nova loves his Rabbit Kong Wubba), hang it down beside you and run! Shake it make fun noises, then throw it for him before he can grab and start tugging. What ever toy you pick don't let him have it by himself, keep it away and only bring it out for this and training. When he loves it heaps you can start asking for commands before you throw it, play chasies. Also great for recalls :) -

Hey Jack, I just got a Rogz one from Petstock. I advise taking Koda in and get it fitted, they have to be fitted right to work properly :) -

Thanks Aliwake, It's a wonder I get any work/study done he's just so nice to look at Sounds great about Nitro, how old is he now Kavik? -
I just saw… I didn't realise Ruth put a pic up Looks like the general consensus is burgundy… that's what I was leaning toward too…my girl is quite a rich red and I wasn't sure if it would clash though. I like the brass too… hmm but what about bling.. pink… amber… she has amber coloured eyes. Decisions decisions... Can you get Amber bling to go with her eyes?

I already suggested on facebook I think burgundy and brass would look nice :)

Some photos of our walk. After so long of walking nicely I always reward Nova with letting him sniff something interesting, this time some wattle :) / Back on the front step practicing our down stay before we go inside. Complete with classic head tilt. -
I hate these threads, they make me want to spend money

I'm really not sure of their temperaments at all but I have heard of Maremma being used as assistance dogs, they are certainly big enough :) That great Aliwake, hopefully he keeps sleeping for you! I used a martingale on Nova for the first time today during out walk. I love it! He's already quite good at loose leash walking but every now and then he tries to chase a bird or do a zoomie, and if he is on a flat collar instead of a harness he just chokes himself. With the martingale he didn't make the 'choking' noises like with the flat and he automatically came back to my side! Obviously the pressure going all the way around his neck and not just on the front is much better. -

I never crate trained Sam. Would of been handy though. I would go for a 42, I have a 36inch for Nova and he will be quite a bit smaller than a lab. For Sam I would've gone for a 46, he was a very big boy. -

If you think he would get out of it I would go a metal crate and get a nice cover for it. If Nixon ever needs to be put on crate rest for some reason or another it's always good to have one handy that you know he won't escape from.
