  1. Check out Crazy Sales :) They have some cheap equipment.
  2. Lollipup I don't even think she realised her dog was not happy. She seemed blissfully ignorant. It's ruined my damn day! She was getting close enough that I was afraid to bend down to pick up Nova as the dog may of lunged at my face. I unfortunately had to shove Nova back with my leg, stand in front of him and yell at her before I could do it. I'm quite a small person Weims look pretty large next to me. I purposefully stay away from dog parks, mass 'play dates', and when people letting their dogs play after obedience class. Now I have to worry about meeting idiots in the main street!!! Urgh rant over. In other news I saw the most purebred dogs in town in one day without there being a dog show on There was Nova, the Weim, a gorgeous Scottie and a German Shorthaired Pointer all going to get coffee at the same place (I think we've all discovered how dog friendly they are, and that they will serve you outside! Apart from the Weims stupid owner they were all lovely examples of the breed!

    Fear Period

Hank I kept taking Nova out, but I watched him like a hawk for the slightest hint of him getting a bit fearful. I don't think he had one I was extra careful though, I did not take him anywhere he would meet a dog I didn't know, and I did cut back on big crowds.
  4. My last dog was bought as purely a companion, I bought my current pup for the same reason but have been given the opportunity to show, I would still only ever buy from a registered breeder. To me a good family pet includes good health and good conformation. I know as well as anyone that you can't predict everything but at least I know my boy will never get HC or CEA. If you can guarantee a beloved family pet is free from certain problems why not spend the extra money? It may just be that I know some extra crap BYBs but all the ones I know don't look at temperament when they breed either.
  5. Urgh! Rage Just now, a lady with an obviously not happy growling dog starts coming towards me with my pup saying 'Say hello!!!!'. Can you not see your dog does not want to 'say hello', and as we were quite obviously keeping our distance neither did we!!
  6. Urgghhhhh!!! Just went and got coffee with Nova, as I was walking back to the car a lady is coming up the street with a weimaraner, I could tell straight away the dog was not happy so I kept Nova next to me and kept a far distance between us. Then she starts heading straight towards me saying 'Say hello!!!" Her dog is already showing its teeth at Nova! I yelled at her to look at her bloody dog and quickly scooped up Nova and walked away.
  7. Hankodie with the pool start small, I only put about an inch on the bottom to begin with, then build up. Today was the first day I completely filled it, hence why he was so into it Thanks :) That photo also makes him look like he has a gigantic arse lol.
  8. I think it's mostly guess work, but a few years a go I lived with two housemates, one young woman who bought a rescue dog, the other was an airforce man. As soon as he would put his boots on the poor dog would pee himself and run away. Eventually, with a lot of love from the guy, we got him to the stage where he would just back away instead. My work boots never did anything to him. We are pretty certain he had been kicked pretty hard by some men in work boots.
  9. Both these photos taken today. Before: After: (excuse my weeds, being away for a week made them wild).
  10. I don't want to look out for fear of disturbing him, but I can hear Nova growling, barking and blowing bubbles in his pool!!!
  11. Mim, All I can look at is the Obama bobble head in the background
  12. Oooh thats great! How did all the kids go? I did that last week (Mum's a preschool teacher), and Mum just told them about dog safety while I got Nova to do some simple tricks like touch paws :)
  13. I think they were about $35 at Bunnings, at the one here they were on the bottom shelf near the kids play equipment (the stuff you buy not the playground). The old school ones are there too.
  14. Aliwake I got mine from BigW, Bunnings is the only place I've seen the same ones, but they are more expensive there. Thats the same reason I got it, plus Nova uses the little seats to get out lol. Wow Cassie... I want to cuddle him lol.
  15. OMG Cassie!!! Thats 5kgs heavier than Sam was fully grown!! How big is your monster gong to be?? Steph that looks awesome! I'm going to buy one!!
  16. I've sent you a PM Jack :) Would love to see more photos of Koda Lhok maybe he likes drunken singing :)
  17. Beckybecbec, your pups are adorable! Lhok, you must be so proud of Treble, I wonder how he knew something was up and not just a person coming to the door/walking by. Hankodie: Yay! Dog owning: when perfect poops become my happiest moments :D to the worms, I hope they all come out soon. Lollipup: What a great video, I'm surprised how calm Envy is too, she seems to be such a great dog. The black and tan shepherd at the end of the last video is hilarious, he plays like a puppy!!. Love the last photo too, happy in pink :) Aliwake: Oh no! But at least you got a hint of how perfect he will turn out after the puppy stage Rangermad: Griffin is adorable, I want to rub all his wrinkles! JackC: have you already gotten Koda MDR1 tested or are you going off the possibility of his parents? I'm extra glad his desexing went well if thats the case Nova is possibly a carrier at max, I need to get him tested to make sure before we have any major ops. Rangermad the whole trip was great, Nova was fine during the driving. He played up a bit at Mums house but settled quickly enough, loved her back yard with all the hidden pathways and hidey holes! Obedience school was good, we already have everything down pat, so for us it was more doing it all around other dogs and distractions. Once he realised I have the best food he has ever seen I found it hard to get his attention off me . I kind of need it to be for whiplash turns lol. I'm really surprised how much Nova has grown and how much a Border Collie there hasn't. We met them when Nova was just 9 wks and the BC was 14? The BC doesn't look like he's grown much at all and Nova is already bigger than him at 17weeks. I also weighed him again at a hefty 12.1 kg. Still putting on about 1kg a week.
  18. I want to reply to everything here but I just got back to wagga and Ive got to go to Obedience school I will be back later and replying to everyone lol
  19. This is a really terrible quality photo, but after I bathed and blow dried Nova after a particularly stinky mud/livestock poo diving incident, he sulked behind his toy cow for about half an hour. He doesn't mind the bath or blow dryer, I think he was upset I took away his stink lol His normal post bath sulk always involves this chair
  20. Nova gets the runs a bit with raw chicken meat, but is fine with raw chicken frames and raw turkey necks. I wouldn't be worried if they firm up a bit while feeding him a bland diet, especially as he is acting normal. Hope he is feeling better soon. A bit of boiled and mashed pumpkin might help too :)
  21. some longer coated ones HERE and one of mine when still young .. He had a very thick coat , and didn't shed heaps in Summer ...HERE Gorgeous!
  22. Thank ok I have to say I've never seen a long coated Koolie before, I know lots of short coats though. Are the long coated Koolies double coated?
  23. Aussies have a double coat, I'm guessing most working ones would be shorter and possibly less thick than the show lines but the photos she showed me were still quite fluffy :) Although I did notice the males ruffs were not quite as full. My boys breeder did say she sometimes shaved one of her boys belly during summer but never the full coat.
