  1. Just lurking in this thread, and thought I would make it more confusing by suggesting you look at a raw diet I started feeding raw about 5/6 years ago and the difference in their poo was one of the first things I noticed (say this to a non-dog person and you sound like a right weirdo  ). Loving everyone's baby puppy pics, I will have to post some of ours when they arrive :D But talking about poop is so interesting! I'd love to see some baby Mal pics. I'm going to have to stalk the breeders litter thread! More baby Nova?
  2. Pagan is adorable! Is she a lappie? I didn't realise they came in brown
  3. May be a retriever thing! I caught my old Lab "playing" ever so gently with mice that he ended up accidentally squishing. I once saw him carrying one like a puppy! He would get so upset when he realised they were dead.
  4. Holistic Select bonus #1: even with just a tiny amount mixed into his proplan he likes the taste and ate it without putting any yogurt etc on it! (He had gotten a bit picky lately)
  5. There is a little * next to it. I've found most flat rate shipping never applies out of major areas.
  6. I just decided on a bag of the holistic select over the Earthborn. Simply because as Nova is still growing the protein levels seemed a bit too high for my liking in the Earthborn. I'll update how we go. Paws for life shipping to my postcode makes it just as expensive unfortunately.
  7. Sorry it's not working out Lhok. When we went through the temp change with Sam it was Pred as well, so I would be looking at another opinion if your vet hasn't heard of that before.
  8. Yep Petstock here, I must of just missed that bag though when I was looking.
  9. You could be extremely lucky. I know at least one example of someone coming onto this forum and having a puppy within a month or so. I would be going to shows and contacting breeders now. If not, rescue is great option too.
  10. That sounds awesome Steph! On my long list of future dogs more retrievers are in there so I'm taking mental notes of what I could do Thanks Aliwake, I gave Nova a bath yesterday with some new Ivory Coat sensitive shampoo and conditioner, it's basically the same ingredients as Aloveen but without Oatmeal. I gave his paws a good wash and then as well as flushing his infected foot with Epi-otic, put Betadine on all his other paws and it seemed to help at least for the night, I woke up to him chewing them again though. We are trying topical treatments first just to make sure it's not a contact allergy, then if it hasn't done anything when I finish up this bag of food (about a week or so) I'll switch him over to Grain Free.
  11. New puppies yay! They are both gorgeous! Littleduck you are so lucky! 9:30-6:30, I didn't get that kind of sleep for months!!
  12. Thanks all, I think I'll give the Grain free Earthborn a try first if I can find it.
  13. I was PM'd about that, I will go and have a look if it's in store tomorrow, I didn't see it today though they should be able to order it in.
  14. Thank you, hopefully he likes whatever I get for him. He's currently on that ProPlan sensitive puppy formula now, the fish smell is awfully strong!
  15. Nova now has an infected paw and suspected grain allergy
  16. I'm looking at switching Nova (almost 7 month old male Aussie) to a grain free food as he's had increasingly itchy paws and now one has become infected due to it being damp (being treated). Talking with my Vet he agrees that it could be a grain allergy especially as we spent two weeks at my Mums house and the itching continued there. I'm looking at foods I can readily buy in town, I checked them out today and saw Holistic Select Grain Free - Salmon and Anchovy - Adult and Puppy formula I'd love to hear some experiences with this food or other recommendations. I've heard Canidae is great but it's not available here and shipping costs a fortune.
  17. I met my breeder at a dog show. I went to a few, watched the breed I was interested in and went and talked to those with dogs I liked. One was very helpful, even recommending some other shows or breeders to look at, said she was planning a mating soon and referred me to her website and email address. I also had some stewards give recommendations while I was there. I had ran into a not so great breeder in the past, so then I came onto these forums and asked in the breed topic whether they would recommend this breeder (via PM). Just remember though that nature isn't predictable! Bitches were late on heat, puppies didn't make it to term, my supposed 4 months wait ended up being 10 months+, oh and about 2 years of deciding the breed was right and looking for breeders. I had a lot of people tell me I was nuts for waiting that long, but they meet my pup now (6mths old) and understand.
  18. Yay!! How exciting! Looking forward to all the updates! Remember to sleep well for the next three nights though.
