Mine had them for about $30 but they aren't on the website, out in the garden section. The box actually had puppies on them from what I remember, I think they clued in to what people were using them for. I would take a picture but they are packed away out in the shed.

I would get puppy. The puppy will be in good hands both times, it won't be too young in December and a week isn't too long in September to be with either the breeder or Dog savvy people

I have an entire male that lifts his leg to pees and will even mark a particular spot in the yard and there is still no smell coming from it. My last dog was an desexed male, no issues there either. The only times I've noticed urine smell from a dog is if it was on cement and built up over time, or there was something wrong. I dog sat a desexed bitch for a few days a few years ago and noticed straight away she was a bit pongy when she urinated. She had UTI.

I too would wait until she is fully grown, and her growth plates have closed, around 18 months maybe more. She will probably have a season in this time so look at increasing your fence height or installing a run. I've had males so haven't looked too much into the other options for females but I'd look more into an Ovary Sparing Spay, I think this removes all of the uterus, which as Kavik mentioned is your biggest issue with bitches because of Pyometra. Your best bet might be to talk to a reproductive specialist vet about options. Don't discount all vets, some are quite open to the current research and would be happy to discuss things like this Hopefully someone here might be able to point you to one in your area.

I don't think it's one of those things you can specifically diagnose just by a simple test. Our neuro specialist told us diagnosis was done via symptoms and ruling out everything else with blood tests, urinalysis, snake bite tests etc. A final test would of been to do a very costly spinal tap but regardless of what the result was the treatment would of been the same, so they thought there was no point doing it anyway. Ok .. thank you :) I was just wondering if it was that disease..and not a result of an injury maybe acquired in kennels or something? Hope she continues to improve - and is bouncing very soon! Yes that's a good point though, the right diagnosis is important! Bad if it was an injury causing it going unknown Hopefully the vet that has diagnosed it is knowledgable about the condition. She's obviously a smart coconut First thought is simply boredom. She's a koolie mix isn't she? They're smart working dogs. If she's bored she's decided to entertain herself by escaping and visiting the neighbours.

The dog I know that had it recently again never had the final diagnosis of yes this is 100% what is it. It's "this is most likely what it is, but it could also be botulism, or death adder bite" but the treatment is all the same and the other two were less likely because of certain circumstances.

Which area do you live in Rosiegirl? You might be surprised, I live in a country area but luckily there is a vet uni out here. If you PM I can give you the details. Your vets can call them and discuss treatment/rehabilitation options if you can't get to them What you describe sounds really great for the situation!

For ear and facial sutures I honestly think that the standard Elizabethan collar is best, the longer the safer. I have known dogs to scrunch the soft collar up against a wall and rub their sutures with the soft collar itself GRRR - plus I personally don't like the way it limits vision. For eye injuries the Optivizor is magical. And it was developed in Australia!!! (no I don't have shares in it LOL) For sutures not on the head, that's when you can take your pick of Cloud Collars, soft cones , Novaguards, etc. Oh I have seen those and they look awesome! I wasn't sure if they would work with the ear as well though?

Would a Comfy Cone be an appropriate alternative option? That link is the first one that came up on google, but I know there are a few different sellers in Australia so if they would work for you I would suggest giving a few suppliers a quick call in the morning and picking one that will ship out that day to you express post

Hi Rosiegirl, I was caring after a dog that had a possible diagnosis of this (they couldn't differentiated between Coonhound Paralysis or Death Adder bite). I had a thread going for her as she went through it and her recovery, this is her thread if you would like to read through it > Ruby - Paralysed . She recovered relatively quickly, but there was another case at the vet at the same time as her that took longer (that dog progressed to needing a ventilator) and it still recovered. A dog I currently train with went through the exact same thing not 2 months ago, once again it has made a full recovery. I highly suggest if you haven't already you get your dog referred to a Neurological Specialist vet and get specialty care ASAP.

Has he got a cover on his crate? If not try covering it, muffle any whining and keep in some heat. Or time for Ernie to be a big boy and move the crate outside your room to be completely ignored! Be strong to Labrador puppy eyes!

Is that what the breeder recommended? The breeder just feed him optimum puppy thats it. I slowly transioned him onto black hawk puppy,pet mince,prime 100 meat roll and puppy milk. Perhaps send some photos of your pup in varying positions to your breeder and get their opinion? Did you consult them on switching to the current diet, your breeder knows their lines and what they grow well on, they might have some suggestions of premium brands that work for their pups if you don't want to feed optimum. You don't need to add extra pet mince and dog roll to a puppies dry food regularly. Puppy milk isn't generally needed either. A 10 week old puppy can chew. If you want to supplement with real meat, try meaty bones like chicken frames or turkey necks. I'm not familiar with Black Hawk puppy so I'm not sure if it is suitable for a large breeds, perhaps someone else here might know.

"Wants" not "Needs" Maybe by next winter they'll be in Australia?
