Goodbye My Beautiful Kalais, Taken By Lymphoma
schnauzer replied to Kaffy Magee's topic in Rainbow Bridge
A beautiful tribute to a stunning girl. You gave her the greatest gift of all. RIP Kalais -
Anne, my heart breaks for you - I know that desolate feeling of losing your heart dog all too well. What a beautiful tribute to a much adored, deeply loved boy. You did everything you could for him and much more, he had a very blessed and treasured life.

Lhok - so very sorry for your loss - what a beautiful girl Missy was. Many wonderful memories for you, forever in your heart. RIP Missy

OMG Anne - I am so very sorry. I lost my heart dog (also Monty) one and half years ago so can feel your pain. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Have you tried changing groomers? Your groomer could be clipping with a blunt blade/dirty/hot blades. A hot blade will give clipper burn/rash and make the dog scratch like mad. Do they wash before or after the clip and what do they wash the dog in - some groomers also flea rinse? Have you had the ears/paws tested for yeast by a swab? My dog is very allergic to ivy and plane trees. My best advice is to go Linda Vogelnest - dermatologist at Sydney Uni/Sash - she is brilliant. Read the labelling on Frontline spray - it should not to be used on dogs with sensitive skin.

You can always rescue one. I have had five males and two bitches. I currently have three rescue dogs - two bitches and a male. Schnauzers are beautiful, very active, great trainable temperament, forever the clown :D , sometimes mischevious, affectionate and adorable. All my dogs have bonded well to me, so don't believe there is any difference between male or female. Yes I have actually giving this some thought....can you give me more info on rescuing one? The Schnauzer Club of NSW and also Victoria rescue, rehabilitate and rehome. Where are you located?

You can dilute the Malaseb. I wash my girl's beard in it with no issues and staining is much less.
-
Sometimes red staining can be yeast. I have found over the years that different foods do make a difference. You could try washing the beard with Malaseb shampoo - is your dog scratching its ears and do they smell? Often if they have yeast in the beard their ears are affected.

Ripley, so very sorry that you have lost your beautiful Millie - such a special girl

Happy Gotcha Day Lucy. Megan, you have done such an amazing job with Lucy. She is a very lucky girl that she found you.

One of my dogs had a large benign tumour on his spleen (but growing) - he was 12 and very healthy otherwise. We ultrasounded other organs but no cancer was found. A specialist surgeon operated on him and the hardest part of his recovery was trying to keep him quiet. He literally bounced out of the surgery. I would go with the advice of your vet. If she does have cancer elsewhere, I would give her quality of life, until she tells you that she is in pain or not enjoying her life any longer - you will know. Very best of luck with Zahra. x

Goodbye My Precious Brianna, 26 March 2004 - 17 February 2013

Such a beautiful tribute to your heart dog Brianna. RIP gorgeous angel -
This. A dog that attacks to kill is a danger to society and IMO should be euthanised. As for the owner of the attacking dog - I hope he does the right thing and comes forward. As Little Gifts said, how could one live with this on their conscience? The poor owners..... RIP Elfie

I Failed...introducing Missy
schnauzer replied to Bindo's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
Bindo, thank you so much for fostering Missy, we could not have asked for a better home for her. Such a beautiful girl - her adoption has made my week. :) -
You are an amazing owner - I hope that Roo continues to improve. Very best of luck.

I use a normal slim thermometer and put some vaseline on the end before inserting. :) My vet is open - Gladesville Vet Hospital if you need one (one of mine is unwell too) and SASH is always open 24/7 for emergencies. Hope she is feeling much better.

Sick Dog, Vets Don't Know What's Wrong

Hunching the back is usually a sign of abdominal pain (I have been told by my vets). My bitch had similar but with vomitting and had pancreatitis. I would definitely do a urine test, next step would be xray and ultrasound organs. Hope you get an answer soon and that she recovers quickly. efs -
Tbroils must have been very naughty

As I see it, people donate to a specific dog and that money is supposed to go to the rescue that takes that specific dog? Then again if you look at STAR, it does look like they are "warehousing" dogs in kennels. With their belief that you need to save every dog at all costs including DA and HA dogs, it is only a matter of time before they become hoarders
