  1. Hi and welcome. I have not had a dog with Cushings but you could send a pm to Dogmad, as she has had a dog on Trylostane. The costs quoted seem very reasonable to me, but if you have doubts ring a few local vets for costing. I hope the outcome for Milo is good.
  2. Has she had an ultrasound for bladder stones? This can make a bitch "dribble" and have frequent urination.
  3. Trinabean, I have had three dogs with MC. One Schnauzer had multiple surgeries (as they appeared) over a number of years and lived until 13. Another Schnauzer had one MC - grade 2, never had another one, also lived to 13. My GSD had an aggressive MC, had a large piece of his thigh taken with clear margins and lived to old age. Good luck with your beautiful Bruno.
  4. It was stated that the dog was not given pain relief for two weeks. Strapping does not give pain relief. If this is true, IMO as I stated before - absolute cruelty. efs
  5. Under the law withholding veterinary treatment to a suffering animal is a criminal offence. There may be more to this story, and I would hope that someone at this pound would have got the dog the immediate medical treatment/pain relief required. Why on earth wasn't the dog released under DOC?
  6. If the dog was left untreated at the pound for two weeks without pain relief/veterinary attention is absolutely beyond belief and cruel in the extreme.
  7. OMG the pain this poor dog must have suffered. Doesn't the pound have a duty of care to provide vet care for a dog like this?????
  8. What a despicable, inhumane, cruel moron. May karma give her all she deserves and more. Poor pony
  9. Good luck Anne and Boof - you are in my thoughts and prayers for the very best result possible. X
  10. Write to your council by email. I have complained over the years about off leash dogs on the ocean walk and Rangers now police it - initially warning owners but they didn't take any notice. At last they are scanning dogs. Then the irresponsible owner gets a nice little surprise in the mail - $220 fine :D
  11. Did they test for Aspergillus? If advanced enough can cause seizures

    Raiden

Lhok what a beautiful dog Raiden was - taken far too soon. I am so very sorry for your loss. RIP gorgeous angel
  13. I have never found this problem with either my own dogs/rescue dogs. My dogs know their order, but are always together/sleep in same baskets etc. I find it unusual for minis not to get along. If he were my dog I would definitely get the young dog vet checked in case he is unwell.
  14. Hi Paddo Pup I feel your pain. I have a seven year old rescue bitch that has separation anxiety. The issue with my dog is that it is dangerous - she shreds and eats fabric She originally ate some clothing of mine and then settled. For a reason unknown to me two weeks ago she ripped my doona and ate some of the cover - rushed to emergency for induced vomiting. I thought this was a one off. Not to be - she ripped some linen and luckily I got home before she ate it. I had a long consult with my vet and we have now put her on clomicalm for a period of time while I try to alter the status in my home. I want to make her more independent of me and know it is ok to be alone (she has two other dogs as well). All doors are shut within the house and her basket has been placed in hallway. Sas's and Mita's methods are fantastic and I am following a lot of their advice and procedures. I am also now incorporating 20 mins of obedience training every morning after a long walk. So far so good. I had no hesitation in putting her on clomicalm and hopefully she will be weaned off it in a month or two. I also spoke to a behaviourist who gave me some great advice. Just a note about the toilet training - I had a rescue dog here that took months to toilet train - some dogs learn much quicker than others. I am in the eastern subs and work in Paddington if you need any help.
  15. Prayers and good thoughts for Boof - hopefully just a lipoma. XX
  16. Good thoughts and prayers that it is something minor for Ziggy and that he is bright and bouncy tomorrow morning. x
  17. Mickey was so lucky to have found you. You gave him love, kindness and compassion in the last few years of his life. No dog could want for more. I am so sorry that he has crossed the bridge. RIP gorgeous angel
  18. Absolutely devastating - but you did all you could to try to save her. I am so very sorry for your loss - it is so hard to lose a young dog..... RIP Shelby
  19. Who else received a long email from NARGA (who are they ) asking for our support for Moorook?
  20. I LOVE a non shedding dog = clean house/clean car/clean furniture = not so much vaccuming I owned a long coated GSD and vaccumed almost daily for 14 years and he was brushed daily . As much as I adored him - the shedding drove me crazy. Gotta love a Schnauzer
  21. Thanks Shcnauzer. I might pick your brains about it all a bit more after the next ultrasound which seems it ill be crunch time. Happy to help anytime - give me a call. Prayers for Boof x
  22. Anne, so sorry to hear of Boof's ill health. My dog had his spleen removed with a large benign tumour at 12 yrs. We had kept an eye on the tumour with regular ultrasounds but it was growing quickly. He didn't have cancer in any other organs, or I would have reconsidered the surgery. The surgery went very well and the hardest part of his recovery was keeping him quiet :) I wish you the very best of luck with Boof.
  23. My mum's nursing home allows and encourages dogs to visit. I usually only take one at a time - the residents love it and know all their names. There was a lady who never spoke in a bed, but when she saw Daisy her face lit up and she would wave at me. I would lift Daisy up onto the bed for her to stroke - she absolutely loved it. :)
