GVH does a great puppy class. You could also try Eastern Suburbs dog training club in Musgrave Ave Centennial Park - resumes in early February. They also have puppy classes - Sunday morning at 9am if you are an early riser :)

Sounds more like a contact allergy. Is he laying on grass/wandering jew in your yard/ivy/do you have a plane tree that drops its pollen? My best advice is a vet diagnosis with skin scraping - then there is no guess work.

Best you see your vet for correct diagnosis, skin scraping, medication and treatment program.

Recommendation For Vet That Is Good With Bulldogs
schnauzer replied to samanthony23's topic in General Dog Discussion
I am in eastern subs and always go to Gladesville vets - Rosalie is amazing. 30 mins in good traffic. IMO best vets in Sydney :) -
Anne, Monty's lesion grew as well but when they removed the spleen it was benign:) The hardest part was trying to keep him quiet after surgery. Wishing you the very best of luck.x

IMO the dog is showing signs of stress and anxiety - in particular licking his lips. Not cute....

Hugs Maree. So hard to lose a heart dog. RIP gorgeous Poncho.

Puppy farm dogs can take some time to adjust to being a "normal" dog. It may be better to pen off or crate her at night to stop the pacing. She is not used to a large free area and feels stressed. My ex pf dog paced up and down my hallway particularly at night. I penned him off in a small area beside my bed with a basket and some blankets on the floor. He eventually learned it was a safe zone, and I taught him "basket". Over weeks/months the "zone" got bigger and he could then free range the house. It took a week or so before he stopped pacing. Good luck with Bonnie :) eta when circling I divert their attention and correct with an "ah ah" and then try to refocus on a toy/ball.

What a beautiful blessed life she had. RIP gorgeous Baylee x

Bindo, I have tried to write this numerous times now. No words can make up for your loss. Lucy had a very blessed life with your family, firstly Darcy and then Missy. She fought a tough battle and you have given her the ultimate gift. xxxx

Lots of love to Lucy from all of us here at Schnauzer Rescue xxx

I don't think I have ever seen mange (if that is the diagnosis) this bad - photo from Blacktown pound website. -
We have all seen a lot of cruelty in rescue, but this boy breaks my heart. How can anyone let a dog get to this stage? Poor boy....thank god he is now getting vet care.

To give you some hope, years ago my GSD Mac had a large and aggressive MCT removed from his thigh. Prof. Max Zuber at Gladesville vet hospital did the surgery and luckily he had clear margins. Mac lived until he was 14 :) Like Bindo, I have also used SASH and they are brilliant.

It is tough enough to lose one - but two beloved dogs so close is unbearable. I am very sorry for your tragic loss. It sounds like they both had a very blessed life, and I hope it gives you comfort that they are at the bridge together. -
Extreme Anxiety After Grooming
schnauzer replied to CathyM's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
The problem with scissoring only, is that if a rescue dog is "felted" to the skin, it is safer to clip the hair rather than scissor. A good groomer will never clipper burn a dog. -
Extreme Anxiety After Grooming

Agree with other posters. Sounds like Hershey had clipper burn, which is extremely aggravating and itchy. Preferably use someone who specializes in traumatised dogs. With our own rescue dogs that are matted and never been groomed, we teach them very slowly. Every day brush just for a few minutes (gradually increasing the time period) and reward with treat. Brush the dog on a grooming table and teach him to stand/stay - this will assist your groomer in the future. If the dog hates a brush try combing him with large tooth comb and then move on to brush. I turn the clippers on (resting on the table) for a couple of seconds and then reward dog - keep repeating so the dog gets used to the sound of clippers. Once the dog is calm with the sound, groomer can start to clip. Make sure the groomer is using a quiet clipper like Andis Professional as some are quite noisy. Do this slowly over a period of time. Agree with HW, you need to be consistently grooming - I would be clipping every 6 weeks or so. -
My heart breaks for you too. I followed her thread closely as I was also struggling with a rescue dog with separation anxiety. You are an amazing owner and I commend you for trying so hard for so long - I hope you both find peace.

Where are you located? One of our rehomed dogs had Aspergillus and had the surgery as an older boy with great success. -

So very sorry for your loss Jules. We always feel so robbed when they leave us too early. He had such a blessed life with you, your husband, Renae and little Miah - may he RIP. xxx
