Grooming In Canberra
Silverblue replied to canberra_labradoodle's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Sheesh Mickatie I groom a few of these dogs, & I reckon a 4' blade all over is the go -
Depending on what the problem is I can't see any problem if your dog is ONLY going to be on it for 6 days. We had our old girl on it just before we had her PTS, she was on it for a couple of months with no ill affects, but I guess it affects different dogs differently, as with humans

Hydrobaths - General Questions
Silverblue replied to BittyMooPeeb's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I have just purchased a twin tank , heated bath with castors & it cost me just over 2K  . However I have seen some much smaller cheaper versions that you can set up in your yard, ( or anywhere really). I seem to recall one of the Warehouse type places was selling them -
I have to agree with you Dru, ONE & only One dog per wash, & disinfected after each dog. However with the twin tank, autofill makes it much easier.
-
Have emailed you, but it is in VIC, I send a express post pack to return them in.Very quick turn around & very reasonably priced
-
WOW, I just paid $2000.00 for my hydrobath, mind you it is Twin tank, auto fill, heated, now I just have to wait for it to get here
-
I believe you need something like Rescue Remedy ( for the dog anyhoo), I wouldn't be giving valium just to groom, (Unless it's name is MORRIS of course )
-
ask Sheltielover, she would know
-
Gee I hope this has nothing to do with MORRIS sorry that was mean :D :D Normally I find if I take 1 valium I am fine to do grooming
-
How very very sad, you did the best for her
-
That's ok guys, Perhaps if you had read the whole post you would have seen I did state ( If you are not a registered breeder, that is ) Best of luck with your boy Caslero & also your girl Malamute, it is a hard time Must be that time of the year  Everyone is getting a little touchy ( me included  ) I would never take anything so lightly, but I can assure you my post was not aimed at anyone in particular, Cheers & keep your chins up, & BYE BYE
-
Hi There Malamute, I don't believe I actually said anywhere in my post ANYTHING about Caslero not having his/her dog desexed, in fact in their avatar they state they are a exhibitor, future breeder, so they have good reason to keep there dog intact. How can you read so much into one line ???????, It is indeed very concerning when this happens to anyones dog, but please don't put words into what I wrote, as I do believe what I said.
-
I love the ALOVEEN range, it is a Oatmeal type shampoo & It smells devine, It is also great for sensitive skin
-
It also serves as a good reminder that you should be desexing at an earlier age ( If you are not a registered breeder, that is )

Hills Science Diet What Is Wrong With It?
Silverblue replied to SueM's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My old girl has been on ID now for several years, and I can confidently say it has added years to her life, she has never looked back. It has dried her skin a bit but as she has pancreatitis she is not allowed any oils or fat, Doesn't stop her getting into the chip cooker though -
Very nice tribute I dont know why I go to this forum

Anaphylactic Reaction To Bee Stings!
Silverblue replied to goldielover's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
As I posted in another thread, I too have seen this happen to one of my dogs, by the time we got him to the vets his system was shutting down, You need something to give as soon as it happens. It is amazing how quick they bounce back with the right medication, we were in Adelaide at The Royal when mine happened, I showed him 2 days later, after almost dying
