Wonder if we'll be cramped in the GSD area again or inside since rain is forecast. BB I can't for the life of me understand why you people complain about which part of the grounds the show is held on................ There were 3 all breeds champ shows held in this area over NY and it was great, Ok we weren't in the "front row" but who cares, we had access to the rings & could see what was going on, JEEEEZ

Sorry for your loss, You would have been better contacting Jed Good Luck

All 10 pups doing OK here, We have one small girl we are battling with, but so far so good, she has finally put on just a wee bit of weight over night. Normally I would have been topping her up with a bottle, but this time I thought I would let nature take it's course, but she is a fighter.

10 babies born here today at a very sensible time, started just after 12pm, finished about 7 pm, so far so good

I showed a Cocker to his title with a missing K9 which had to be removed due to a accident, he had broken it some how ?? Anyway I just carried the letter from the vet and to be honest there were a lot of judges that didn't even pick it up.

Both of my Rarer Breeds got invited, which was fantastic, one for DOY & one for POY, unfortunately my Welsh is too unwell to attend, but the Sussex will be there with her new GSL, Also my favourite Saluki will also be there handled by Me :)

Grand Champions & (new Title) Supreme Champions

Cant you have multiple breed specialties? These wouldn't have been a BOB, they would have beaten other (albeit) related breeds.... There are actually 5 different breeds in the Rarer Spaniel club, so no it wasn't just a BOB !!! Have read all the fors & againsts, & yes it is the same old hash over all the time, Like I said, Personally I am happy the rules have changed, You only have to look at the Gundog group here in Victoria, It is full of top quality dogs, Many of which are in the top for overall point score, Very hard to get past these dogs, they are wonderful, top quality dogs. -

You know what I am also sick of hearing people go on about "If a rare breed is good enough it will win a BIG or BIS " NO they won't until judges can see past the more popular breeds in our group. I know it has happened & good on those people that have won, BUT on the whole it can be very hard to win with a rarer breed. I for one am happy to see the regulations revert back, hopefully it will keep more people in the sport !!! My Welsh Springer is a BISS winner & Royal CC winner, but you know what, even a our specialities, sometime it is hard to get a 25 point CC, there just aren't many Rarer Spaniels out there, this one was a 25 point CC, BUT the BISS didn't count towards her GR CH under the old rules, so how is that fair ? -

Hi, I have been breeding Cockers for years now, Haven't had any nasties as yet, apart from 1 cranky old girl who in her older age has deceided children are not to be trusted. However, In my role as groomer I cringe when asked to do Cockers, not so much that they are agressive, but more of a pain. I have a few contacts in SA, & I happen to know of a litter due soon, PM me if you want further info.

On Friday at West Gippsland Show at the Park Duncan, "CH Silverblue Thunda Down Unda" was awarded BOB & RUBIG, such a thrill to win this, THEN......... Yesterday at the Rarer Gundog Spaniel Club Of Vic our Welsh Springer Spaniel, Fever, BISS Glenquayle Gold Fever, was awarded BOB & BEST IN SHOW at both the Champ show & the Open show, this win gives her a boost towards her Grand title !!!!!! ALSO............The new kid on the block Shevington Minx, who happens to be the dearest little kid was awarded BOB on Friday & THEN.... PUPPY IN SHOW at both of the speciality shows yesterday, for those that don't know Minx is a SUSSEX SPANIEL !!!!!!!! Just a bummer I had to work Sat & Sun, but it sure made up for it.

I have held many dogs while they were PTS & have never seen this sort of thing happen. If the owners are wanting to stay, we always take the dog out to the surgery & place a cathater and then flush it with saline to ensure everything is fine before taking the dog back to the owner. The trouble with older dogs is that it is a lot harder to find a vein & also if the dog has heart problems the lethabarb takes a lot longer to circulate through the dogs system, hence it taking longer to take effect. Sedation before inserting a cathater is extremely difficult as it relaxes the dog and the heart slows down, making it hard to find a vein. I am sorry to hear your friend had to go through this, I can imagine how hard it would have been for her.
