  1. That's so cute! She'll be sad when her pelican needs replacing LOL
  2. Hi, This might be a bit of a strange question....sorry if it's in the wrong spot! I have been wondering what being a dog/animal behaviourist actually involves....i.e. how they asses a dog, etc.. I know that some people on here are qualified for this and that others have used behaviourists services, so thought I might be able to get a better idea... Thanks! :D
  3. :D You'll be getting your Kelpie a week before I get my Border Collie probably! Do you know what colour yours'll be?
  4. Welcome SqueeHammer! What breed are you getting?
  5. I don't normally like dancing dogs, but Pudsey is so cute! He's one special doggie!
  6. Thanks for the replies everyone... You're probably right, Minimax, it worries me more than them lol. Only one of them eats her food daintily enough to notice the coldness, and on especially cold nights I'll jut heat up some gravy and had it to her food. She always sniffs her dinner suspiciously, to ensure that you haven't put any thing 'nasty' (like celery) in there. She'll like the gravy....
  7. We feed our dogs on the BARF diet, not the bought patty type, the make-the-vegies-yourself-type, with chicken wings and all.... Anyway, in this cold weather, I'm feeling a bit mean dishing the dogs up a bowl of cold vegies and yoghurt, and cold chicken wings. I can't add boiling water, as that will lightly cook the vegies and defeat the point of raw... So I was wondering if any other BARF feeders have a way of serving the dogs warm food without cooking the vegies? It's just so cold here in the morning and evening, that I know I wouldn't enjoy cold food and they probably would prefer something warm too...they do seem to like it better on the odd occasion that they get leftovers...since these are already cooked, I warm them up for them.... Probably a bit of a silly question, but thought I'd ask anyway.... Hope it makes sense! S.
  8. Gosh, two years! I'd better stop complaining about my 1yr wait lol ;)
  9. LOL, they don't mind if it's new 'dog stuff' (read Border Collie stuff), they don't like it when they hear the same thing a couple of times.... I assure them it will cease when the Border Collie arrives...hehe.....
  10. I betcha he was popular! I saw a couple at our local markets today with a baby BC, it was so cute! Set off my Border Collie cravings again! Might have to ring up my breeder just to have a good long chat about them......some family members can get a little annoyed when all you talk about is 'when I get my Border Collie, I'll....' They won't have to put up with it for too much longer!
  11. Thanks erinonthefarm. They'll be black and white, and I keep on flicking from wanting a girl to a boy, so I guess it'll just be whatever I come home with! :)
  12. Just another week or two to find out if she is pregnant.... trying not to get too excited, but it's a little hard lol
  13. Yay! The days must be dragging for you! We expect more pics when you get her, she's just too cute!

  15. Must be close to picking up your little one now erinonthefarm
  16. I'd like to look at this thread too, since I'm preparing for a puppy....might be interesting....
  17. Yep, getting excited...though trying not to be too excited just in case it doesn't work out. Not that anything is very likely to go wrong, but sometimes things do... I've got a small list of names, I don't know if I'll use any of them, but couldn't help myself anyway :)
  18. aww Savannah is so cute! Is the breeder in your area, so you can visit? I'll be doing weekly visits once puppies arrive. I'm getting a Border Collie.
  19. Everyone's puppies are gorgeous :) My breeder rang up the other night and her bitch is finally in season!!!! Fingers crossed she gets in pup and has a big healthy litter....
  20. awww....love the middle photo of Luna! She's adorable
  21. Henry is now shaking hands! I quickly gave up training him and decided dropping was more important, as he wasn't catching on to the shaking. Yesterday I decided to try the food & paw method of shake, and he picked it up really fast! Today I tap his wrist or hold my hand out and he puts his paw into it....Thanks everyone!
  22. We've got a pair of cockatiels called Mango and Nutty(kokonut) Ugly, Tuppence & Limbo the chooks, just to name a few.... My Dad had a dog called Snag, and the dog when we were little was Wiggles...named by us kids :)
