For Those Missing Someone This Christmas...
JayGee replied to tdierikx's topic in General Dog Discussion
It was this day last year that we started our road to cancer with Jeddah. An odd lump magically appeared below her eye to the right of her nose. We began the testing phase. We did not know at that point that we only had 12 weeks, aged 13 and a half years. Our first Christmas without her. The idiot pup did make for a happier day though. -
Looking For Advice Re: Choosing A Breed
JayGee replied to Catfishers's topic in General Dog Discussion
All of the above. We're on our third dobe, very loving and yes, an inside dog. You also must love being touched, they need to feel your presence! As I sit here watching my large pup nibbling my grandson's head! It's so hot and she wants to be close! -
What a lovely old girl. Hope she enjoys her day!

What a beautiful life, and beautiful passing for Mac. Such a lucky boy to have all his loved ones around him. Thoughts going out to you westiemum, Andy and Sarah.

I've been thinking about you and Mac today westiemum. I'm so glad you're going to be busy tomorrow. We went through this earlier this year, and we ate chips for lunch every day in our last week! So much cholesterol for all of us! But Jeddah loved her chips. She had a lovely bowl of ice cream right up to popping off to sleep. I will always be thankful for having her passing at home, it was just beautiful. Lots of kisses and cuddles with your little man tomorrow. You are both in my thoughts.

Our up flew from Perth to Brisbane, breeder put her on a very late flight, and we picked her up around 5.30 a.m. I think with her natural sleep patterns, it worked perfectly. I would be flying the pup, no matter the cost saving. It's an awfully long drive.

That is such an awesome surprise :D Kids will go nuts!

Maggie moo, can I suggest a baby gate so that your cat can get some down time from the puppy. Our puppy is 7 months now, and the cats are still escaping through the baby gate for their quiet time. Pup loves the cats but the nose bunting and licks can get a bit much for older cats. Plus I can confine the pup to one end of the house. Smaller area for toilet training etc. Good luck to everyoney with pups on the horizon.

Haha! I think Aunty could be well used here too! My 7 month old Doberman is very spoilt by her older half brother, who allows her to behave like an absolute pork chop! I keep telling him to curl his lip, growl, do something!!!! He belongs to my son and daughter in law who have 2 children, so he's absolutely bomb proof, but my princess thinks she can dominate a big male dobe. So....We've just started with Jane Harper, we need to learn manners! Sheridan, can I just add that you can make me laugh even on days when you are not having such a good time, with your two! They are so entertaining! If I was ever having a crap puppy day here you always made me feel better. Pers, your pictures are always brilliant! One of my forum highlights.

I Have To Face Up To It. My Dulcie Is Dying
JayGee replied to Dudsmedog's topic in Palliative Care Forum
My heart goes out to you. You made the best decision at the right time. My greatest fear is leaving that decision too late, but you have done the most wonderful thing for your Dulcie. I'm so glad you got to spend such special moments with her. -
Westiemum, I thought of you and Mac whilst watching the game tonight. Even though I'm a staunch Lions fan, I was barracking for the Crows tonight, after their horrendous year. Hope you and Mac had an enjoyable night, despite the outcome. Cuddles and nibblies are great for football viewing!

I love Smoke's one ear up, one ear down, look. He is seriously one pretty dog, and I do enjoy hearing about his "learning to be a big dog" antics. He doesn't mind a camera either!

Now you are just being silly... I never said it was an official breed of dog. A Siberian Husky is bred to run and pull. I guess agility, and lure coursing are cruel too ??? Looks to me, like one happy dog doing what he loves! I don't know where you get the vibe of cruelty? If you watch the video closely, you can see the "driver" gives a big kick now and then to keep the momentum going. I know nothing about sledding, so my terminology is probably not correct. Lol. I love Yonjuoro's videos, because it gives me the opportunity to see these beautiful dogs in action.
-
He's a competitive little pumpkin! Speeds up when he's been overtaken, and then takes his place back again! It did make me laugh. Great video, I love watching your progress.
-
Oh kirty, how terrifying for you and the family. I hope the news from here on is all good, and that everyone is home soon, safe and sound. Your quick response has given your dogs a good fighting chance. A hot shower and a cup of tea might help you get some sleep.
-
Loved it! And he seemed to avoid the puddles. You had a good kick leg action going on too! Really enjoyed your video, thank you for posting.
-
This story made my day! I can just imagine those determined, beady eyes homing in on the wheelchair. Thank you, the whole family enjoyed hearing it. We miss having a grey around the house.

Thinking of your family, try to get some sleep.

Swazzie, yes, you know when it's time. My heart goes out to you. Will your vet come to you, I found it a more settled time being at home. Our passing was quite beautiful.
-
Oh swazzie, I wish you and Bru a special time together. I've just been be down the same path recently. We had chips for lunch every day during our last week together. Lots of photos and video of Bru, it will bring you a lot of comfort. Treasure this time. Thinking of you both.

What a lucky boy for Jasper to have your absolute love and devotion. You were there for him, as he knew you would you would be. My heart goes out to you.

English Springer Spaniel Willow's Story :)
JayGee replied to Willowlane's topic in General Dog Discussion
Absolute cutie pie! Here's hoping tonight is more sedate. -
WeimMe that month will just fly by! Yes, we love our dobies, we've just lost our old girl. She would have been 14 in July. I've had my eye on our breeder for 12 years!! This time next week our puppy will be on the plane to Brisbane. Very early morning trip to pick her up next Saturday. My cats will not be pleased. Living with an older dog was a breeze for them.
