  1. I will have to pass this time David thanks for the email wouldnt be fair to take the opportunity from a dog that has not had a chance on sheep yet and Bodie has started pretty well, but i would love to come to a duck day!!! my older girl we desensitised to sheep (DOH!!) she was trial bred and has a bird facination so she might get interested in ducks (goes to sleep in the pen with sheep )
  2. Happy driving my Holden thank you love kelpies and hubby wants one for next dog but... i have doubts on my ability to handle ;)

  10. working on mum!!! hopefully she will bring atleast Teela, Rus had a operatino this week so he wont run but might come to socialise, 2 tollers said she was bringing both but only running Todd will be a toller frenzy!! especially if toilet duck brings moses to show us the ropes
  11. it is nice to see your dog work well ... it is just a shame Bodie works so much better for Denise than me but hopefully as i learn to read the sheep better it will improve, also i was thinking at this point i dont trust him very much yet so 85% of my attention is on him, 5% on the sheep and 10% that i run into anything (family history of total clumsyness)
  12. looks like im making the trek down from ballarat .. hmmm up at 6.30 to get to tracking training/check up/review at 7.30, lay a couple of tracks, handle 2 dogs scarf down brekkie at Macca's, an hour of obedience then into the car and 1:45 drive.. then fall asleep watching lure coursing... anyone want to make sure Bodie gets a run or 2 while i snooze?? of then the 2 hour drive home!! Bodie & Todd practicing for sunday
  13. A family from our club has got Noonbarra Bob II they would have got him for top levels in agility and obedience i think their other dog got a top dog recently in agility. 21. my first dog was a kelpie X Lab loved that dog did everything with him from when i was 5 till he passed on at 12 but i have been really lucky in my BC's excellent dogs however hubby didnt just fall for a kelpie he is falling for avenpart working kelpies!! he wouldnt have trouble dealing with them.... im just not sure of my ability
  22. lol made the mistake of taking Hubby to herding at Denise's yesterday. He now tells me he wants a kelpie as our next dog!! Noooooooo i love watching them, seeing them work but i think they are too much dog for me and i usually end up doing all the formal training for our dogs!!
  23. hmm with Bodie im doing herding (well.. VCA type herding atm) obedience, tracking (prelim in sept hopefully) beginners flyball (he is only 9.5 months old) occasionally tricks and contact agility obstacles at home .... that enough?? the older 2 are just doing obedience going for CD I doubt they will even attempt open and dabbling in agility and flyball, Kira is going to attempt endurance next year (she wont have any trouble, I however will!!)
  24. yup for the fit types u can run, someone was saying a brisk walk will also get it done, but i have not seen one so cant confirm
  25. a lady on this forum did it with her doberman she wrote a really interesting and amusing web page (linked from here) they do a short obedience test at the end of the 20km after another break I have a border collie on the smaller size who just never stops, i just have to make sure she settles with the bike next to her ... and my bum can last a decent distance
