dunno if the rules have changed, but i was told that is fairly typical 20% deduction aor there abouts for having to return to the post on a stand stay

Dogdayz dont be discouraged just know what can happen your perfect dog (well almost) on the training ground can have a brain melt down on the trial ground, well i think we could be contributing too im sure they can sense we are tense and nervous. that together with a new surroundings.... and they are not robots enter to have fun/anticipate and the score secondary to start with ;) too high a expectations can lead to frustration , LOL im frustrated because he finally got his off lead work ok and he dozed through my heel command (after i got his attention)of a exercise he has never got less that 18 for in a trial (normally 20) we got 14 and he missed passing by 2

aaarrrrggghhhh !!!!! melton trial today.. going really well, got to the stand for examination.sarty is regular on 19 or 20 for this every other trial he has been to, what happens today?? he stays at the post when i heel off *sob* what did he get pinged? 6 points what did he miss passing by?? 2 points waaaaaggghhhhhh!!!!! but on the plus side his heeling off lead was so much better !!!!

lol there was dead calf pieces on my aunts track earlier talk about temptation for a lab!!! Rosie had a bit of leg and wasnt going any further, she passed but Linda got a talking to for being too harsh to get the dog away from the raw meat and bone!! it was a great day yesterday LOL poor ppl on saturday had to contend with severe weather tho. lol i got a talking to for talking too much after his personality change i was so shocked i couldnt shut up nervous chatter but his actions just threw me off, we have had practice trial before and he went beautifully
-
what is it with dogs and trials??? we had our first tracking prelim trial yesterday lovely day even with wet feet up to the ankle :D Bodie who is wonderful in training, we had a mock trial 2 weeks ago and he was brilliant was shocking yesterday he passed and im proud of him for that but it was like invasion of the body snatchers!! it was like a different dog!! wandering off unfocused it was such a surprise because he is normally so good !! lol my older 2 pull this at obedience trials lol you fix one thing and something that was great previously suddenly becomes too hard DOH!!! never mind me im just dissapointed for HIS sake i know how well he can do!

Sparty had a dislocated knee about 4 years ago i have to take him to the chiro every now and then for check up, he has a little arthritis in it in the cold weather. in winter the way he moves to comensate can put strain on the rest of him so i have to be careful. however in the warmer weather we do a couple of flyball runs as he loves it and goes insane watching Bodie learn, same with agility he loves that too, and in warmer weather not an issue, vet has said keep going with it as it helps keep his weight down (winter he puts on a bit more weight like me im afraid :D ) and we avoid the jumps or only do small dog jumps and contacts, he is (53cm) LOL i should add this question in 2T mind was raised by a agility trainer (a bit of competition between agility & flyball in our club it seems) trying to get Todd into agility......

O-ren reminds me very much of cloverfch's Elvis very pretty lol today i have discovered Bodie is a anti-clockwise dog!!! he does "here" without any issues but behind.... well he does not like doing that too much and there are struggles!! but we had a great training day today!!! his stop was sooo much better and it has been a 2 week break from sheep!! And his distance is getting better!! he cast pretty well *very proud* a all around good day -
LOL Sparty should have got special recognition today we were at the end of the sit stays and the rough collie next to him got up pranced over and proceeded to hump my poor dog!!! who i might add continued his sit stay!!!! lol the judge said a big steak for this boy!!!

No sure what the set up with the afghan club is, but sunday the lure coursing was held in the off leash fenced area so only the dogs running were allowed in for the run lol the milling surge of dogs waiting in line was a little hectic tho
-
good point poodlefan, but i have to say the operator on sunday was really good some of the runs were slow you could ask him to do a slow one and that your dog was a puppy or a beginner so it is not just a flat out option
-
it was a great day, some dogs (like Miss Rosie) enjoyed it more after the lure coursing finished and they all had a off lead romp  Bodie was very jealous!! but we had to get home
-
we are going for the full day with picnic no aspirations of passing just to be there and participate
-
Ahh 2tollers they DO get yappy excited remember the Dalmation???? LOL and Iko while not overly loud was almost throttling herself to get in and have a go
-
Ohhh Casima what a beautiful pic!!!! My Bodie was almost 10 months, he ended up doing 5 runs but he is an insane border collie, you can buy your tickets well apart if you want usually, 1 ticket per run, but u can have a few dogs in a run. Bodie did a run with Todd and Josh at first, while Todd didt get the idea Bodie tried to chase/herd josh, after watching a few times he went in again with Teela (puppy) and finally got the idea the operator will tease the dog with the lure bringing it back to them if they lose sight of it which really helps
