Another reason why Australia should not export live sheep! And in that article, it suggested the PETA was zoophilia. At least I think that is what it said. My eyeballs had fallen out by then, and I had to feel around on the floor for them. The wickedness and peculiarity of people never ceases to surprise me!! From the article

Good luck Bella Donna - have strength, NicB. They are probably lipomas - or fatty lumps, and not threatening at all. I shall hope that is what they are. Will be thinking of you tomorrow

I don't think Panacur is approved for use on lungworm in Aust. However, I think the treatment is one dose (by weight) for 3 days .... I have lost my "dog book" with dosages etc in, but this ringing bells. Someone else is sure to know!!

From Pet MD (american site). I always understood that snails and rats were the problem. Going to check further on chooks and birds. :)
-
That is an excellent cheap solution to the problem, as long as the sock is washed first. And you remember to take your foot out of it!! Sorry, OP,couldn't help myself. I am sure you can buy snoods for paps - I have some which fit baby cockers, and I think they would fit a papillion. if you can sew you can make your own. Only requires two straight seams.

I think chicken may be too fatty - the frames would probably be ok with those fatty "flaps" some frames have chopped off. My boy had minced bone in chicken mince .... but not very much of it. I couldn't access kangaroo, but it is very low fat.

She is a lovely girl, Tarope. May you have a long and happy life with Chloe
-
She may say what she wants - as she has not bred anything, she is not a breeder, nor the owner of a registered dog, so she is not a registered breeder. I am an astronaut!! Edited to remove nonsensical rubbish and replace with something marginally more sensible. Oops

One of my dogs had pancreatitis. For the rest of his life, he was fed raw meat and vegetables. Low fat or no fat meat, no bones with marrow, and a high % of fruit and veges - maybe about 60%. He did well, never had a problem with him. Unfortunately, I have forgotten the details, but the main thing is to remember low fat - he also had raw eggs, and fish + minerals and vitamins.

Recommend peperone too. Product is good, service is great, prices are fantastic!

How tragic. RIP Harry. I wonder how many JRT have been taken to the pound after this story appeared?

I think "back in the days" the dogs were more socialised, no one seemed to want, or to make, a dog savage. Our mums and dads had a lot of dog knowledge, so they chose "easy" dogs for our pets, and most of them ensured the dog had some obedience. If we brought home a dog to make savage, they would have flogged us and sent the dog to " a farm" . If we got bitten by a dog, it was our fault, because we did something to the dog, so we probably got flogged. Some dogs were known to be a problem and we knew to steer clear of them. Our dogs came from a litter someone someone we knew had, or were purebred registered dogs. Most dogs seemed to have sound minds and good intentions If we went out with our dog off lead, someone elses dog would probably challenge it - and there would be some bum sniffing and stiff tailed circling, but nothing much happened. And if we didn't like the look of an approaching dog, we would shout at it, or give it a few hard kicks to deter it. The male GSD would strut up the street from time to time, and our l.h dacs would challenge him through the fence, so the GSD would pee on the fence, to the fury of the dacs. Once the dacs got out, and chased the GSD to hell and gone!! More dog sense, more common sense, more obedient dogs. And everyone accepted dogs like mad Pauline.

DD. how can HSUS put out rescue magazines, when they don't have any shelters? And presumably do no rescue? Just curious -
I would cover the couch with plastic, or put a cardboard box or something on it so he cannot jump on it (take it off when you want to sit down). Clean it with a biological cleaner such as you have been using such as Biozet. Supervise him carefully and take him outside when appropriate If he cannot get on the couch he cannot pee on it.I think this is the least stressful way of stopping him. Other option is to get a few mousetraps. Put them on the couch, and set them. Cover the with a layer of newspapers. When he jumps on the couch, the traps will go out, hopefully frightening him off the couch. If you leave what you decide to use in place for a month or so, he should have lost interest by the time you put the couch back to "normal" He is probably doing it as part of his settling in process, bur more important than the reason is stopping him. Whatever method you use good luck with it.

Just When You Don't Have The Camera Handy

So funny!! If mine are allowed into the bathroom, they all want to sit on the bathmat, effectively preventing me from leaving the bath/shower. So they are forbidden. They all sit outside so I can fall over them there. I had one years ago, who, after the plug was pulled from the bath, had to rush over, and watch the water draining. Presumably to ensure no little bits of me had dropped off and were going down the plug hole!! Years ago, there was a goat, Dennis. If Dennis was in the yard, and heard you in the shower, he would come upstairs and jump up on the door until he pushed it open, to share the shower with you. What a hooT -
I thought the newspaper article stated that she had died of a heart attack? It does make a difference, I guess.
-
Well done. :) I would report. The attacked dogs may have injuries from being bitten which are not apparent from the outside. A pom was bitten once, looked fine, but in fact 5 ribs had been torn from the spine, and lungs and other internal organs were damaged. The pressure of the jaws does damage too

OhSoswift, Mantis and I used to do a bit of cudgelling in harmony! But a free ad? I don't know anyone else who got a (free) TV endorsement from the RSPCA I wonder if he checked in his files and saw the mountain of anti BSL letters I had written him. He had forgotten my phone calls. But - he did change his stance on BSL after a while.

The woman does not look particularly frail in her photos. I wonder if the dogs were fighting over food, and the fight escalated. There isn't enough information to do more with than surmise. RIP

Because, before there was prog testing, breeders had nfi when the dog was ovulating, and early on, presumed she was ovulating when she was flagging, and able to be served. I suppose we could have been smart and counted back two days from first service ..... but no one ever thought of it. :)

I think it's Sirius (not 100% sure) That's right. Once I saw it written, I knew it was correct. Thanks :)

That's great Jed. But I still hate them. I knew you would. My opinion of NSW Vic, SA, WA hasn't changed much. But now I have been outed, I have to watch my mouf!! ( have to write anonomyous letters now) And I'm easily bought, a free ad will do it every time!!

Absolutely, Sheridan, my new besties!! After they went on TV to say what an ethical and wonderful breeder I am, (and for free too) what else could I do?? I think I have read everything on the web and in every vet book on CO poisoning!!
