Good afternoon
I am writing on behalf of a family member in South Australia.
My sister's American Bulldog 'Maddie', is in urgent need for rehoming.
She has had Maddie for about a year, but as Maddie grows, she is becoming less tolerant of the family's Chow Chow. They have been working very hard to try and keep both dogs happy and safe with eachother, but it is becoming obvious that Maddie really needs to be an only dog. They have tried to socialize her with other dogs countless times, without much luck. They got her as a 1 year old, and to their knowledge her first year was spent with minimal dog on dog interaction. She gets along with their Chow Chow most of the time, but she resource guards to the extent of having to seperate them completely for the Chow's safety. She is a very loving girl, and we feel that if she can be the only dog in someone's life then she will thrive. She is very smart, and eager to please. She is currently being crate trained, and has taken to it very well.
She has lived primarily outside, but sleeps inside in her crate in the house at night. She is well behaved in the home, but does not do well unattended.
She is high energy and thrives on routine and consistency, which has been lacking due to the tension between the two dogs. She will do well with someone who has knowledge and experience with the breed, and has the time to give her the opportunity to reach her potential. She is currently intact, but will be getting desexed before being rehomed. Asking for a rehoming fee to cover cost of desexing her.
Maddie is a 2 year old American Bulldog. She is white with Brindle markings.
