  1. I'd not buy Wahls and I can't wait until the last pairs I use pack it in and are replaced. I'd go with Andis if you want a pair that are reliable and feel good in your hands. The blades I use for a basic Poodle clip off are a 5 or a 7 over the body, 10 on the face and tail and a 5/8 foot blade. What you'll need will depend on the desired lenght you wish to keep the coat at. If you are happy to brush and learn to scissor, then you can just buy a 10 and a 5/8
  2. The first three ingredients in Science diet Puppy large breed = Ground Whole Grain Corn, Chicken By-Product Meal, Corn Gluten Meal Puppy Original = Ground Whole Grain Corn, Chicken By-Product Meal, Soybean Meal Puppy Small Breed = Ground Whole Grain Corn, Chicken By-Product Meal, Soybean Meal That's a lot of money to spend on feeding your dog corn
  3. If the breeder is sending a days worth of meals, then you could use half of a meal and combine you choosen dry and raw with that. For example, use half of the breakfast and add half of your chosen dry for lunch just feed the raw portion dinner mix half and half of the dry repeat it the next day. To be honest given the amount of cereal etc the pup has to digest, I don't think you'll have any worries changing over to a quality dry and raw. What I would be careful of, is adding too many new things especially lamb, roo, etc, if the pup has not had them before. Change over and get onto your basic dry and raw and then add your other things one at a time, over a perdiod of weeks. That way you can also work out, if anything doesn't agree with the puppy. Your pup isn't going to miss out on anything, if you feed a premium dry for one meal and raw the next, providing your raw is is on consumable bone, your calcium/phos ratios will be fine.
  4. No, I've just asked to see the parents this time and make sure they are " nice"
  5. But all my friends had them and I've been warned about these sickly purebred animals, I've watched Pedgigree Dogs Exposed you know and I find your comment directed towrds me, very insulting. I did all the research on the net , I'll have you know.
  6. Sick of complaining I went to fair trade and their response to fair trade's demand to refund or replace was this
  7. I lost count of the number of phone calls I made, but coming up to Easter, they promised to send us some "nicer" replacements and they sent me this
  8. Don't hold your breath Raz, I am still have an unresolved complaint, regarding these Valentines day lovelies from 2009. Xcel is still sporting the scar on his finger from opening the box and to date , we have been unable to locate them, although we believe they are still somewhere in the neighbourhood, due to the constant loss of chickens, small birds, rabbits and childrens fingers They were delivered as promised in a red love heart shaped box.
  9. Chopped and dried fruit are full of sugar... More alarming than the sugar content would be the Sulphur Dioxide Unless you find naturally dried fruit with no sulphur dioxide, it's not something I'd feed a dog. If you want to give your dog a little fruit, give him the end off your banana, or a slice of apple , whenever you have some. Dogs don't need fruit and it's really just a treat
  10. Yeah they do but only for Adults.. I picked up some food today.. Hills Science Diet for Puppy's, already started to mix it in with the supercoat Have you checked the ingredients in Hills ?
  11. Hows about a quality dry puppy food, such as Proplan, Advance, Artemis, Eagle Pack, Royal Canin or Canidea, there's plenty to choose from that are nutritionally balanced and you don't need to add anything. Feed your meat on the bone ( consumable bone ) such as lamb necks, roo tails, chicken wings, chicken neck, carcass, rabbit, lamb flap, etc If you want to add extra's and provide some variety, then chuck the pup a whole agg and give it a game at the same time, canned sardines or mackeral, a spoon of natural yogurt, a bit of grated cheese or left over vegies every now and then.
  12. I guess they wanted their dog back. It's not a pedigree and not worth any money
  13. I saw this one in your catalogue, it looks complicated, can you explain to me how it works ?
  14. I read through and while there were some basic care aspects, which I thought were pretty good, there was more of the usual dribble regarding , what you should bred, when you should breed it and what you cannot breed it to. Another laughable part was $396 what a waste of money that is. I also wonder about these " enclosures", they look significantly big enough to require a DA
  15. The best source of info re heartworm, is to learn about the heartworm cycle. There's far more too it, than what gets advertised on the vets brochures, in particular the minimum temperatures
  16. If I buy these, do you guarantee that I will be as thin as her ? $25 000 is a lot to spend.
  17. The way I look at it, is you are probably better off having cross bred listed on your chip papers, because once you've been through the process and have been tagged as whatever breed or cross, then if they amend the laws, you really are up poo creek. If I had a Pit Bull, I would certainly go down the road of BA and TT, because once you have that ID and TT, as something other than a Pit Bull or at least a cross, it cannot be challenged. I think a long as your dog is chipped and registered as something ( this applies to all dog owners ) and you abiding by the basics, then I think we all sit back and wait to become part of a class action. At this point in time they aren't picking on the SBT but if they do, there's enough of us about to sink their battle ship.
  18. Do you have this one in stock and if so how much will it cost me ? Can I order ten ? There's some neighbours who could do with one of these
  19. They are a great opportunity to spend more time in the ring , providing you don't stack them all the time and expect them to be a statue for upto and hour. It's also an opportunity to let them play ( providing other exhibitors are happy ) and socialise, you can also spend time teaching them to freebait and to focus on you. It's the time and the place to teach them there's a time and a place for being serious and also that it's fun at the same time. I will often do baby sweepstakes but by 6 months, I'm a bit take it or leave it, unless the dog needs more experience
  20. Whippets and Greyhounds, certainly aren't fragile. Some of the things my Whippet does, forces me to close my eyes and hope for the best. They are thin skinned and will cut easier than other breeds, but they don't break all that often . Whippets are also quite easy to train to recall and are very much inclined to stick with their person. I;ve found Greys a lot harder to train in that respect. They are really indoor only, they are fair weather dogs and don;t appreciate being left out in the cold, they do love time outside, so long as it's nice. ETA: here's one of my Greys and my Whippet bitch coming on recall.
  21. Don't worry, they also say that when they have been flogged hands down by a child and their dog
