You could also try GAP, their dogs are temperament tested.

The largest size of the Kramar Sleep Ezy beds, with a foam covered with hession and then a " comfy futon " on top of that. They also have polar fleece blankets and other large blankets wrapped around the futon. Summer time is just the futon on the tramp bed

Your contract also covers health etc, so it's not simply a contract for mains puppies -
Breeders And Your Contracts

when I think they are suitable for a puppy but before they have looked at and know which one will be there's. -
I have one story that was worth a laugh Exbibitor XXX was entered, Judge yyyy was of course expected and would have put up XXX. Judge proceeded through the group and some very ugly and strange choices wents up, including dogs that could barely win a thing any other day. Judge gets to the breed at the end of the group expecting to see XXX, who didn't show up. Judge had put up a really ordinary dog for CC, before realising that XXX wasn't there. Judge then put up a very nice bitch and gave it BOB Judge left herself with a really ordinary looking BIG line up and and damn fine bitch at the end of it, that stood out like dogs balls Judge would have looked even more of a tool if it didn't get put up for the group

Advice Needed For Trimming Dogs Nails
WreckitWhippet replied to Huntia's topic in General Dog Discussion
But it's not the dogs choice, it's yours as an owner and the dogs need to comply with it. It's part of everyday handling and routine care of the dog. I'm amazed, although I shouldn;t be, at the number of owners who allow their dogs to get away with such things. Brushing and nail clipping are the simplist of tasks, yet many dogs seem to rule the roost when it comes to them. -
Premium Foods Vs ................

And your point is ? -
Perhaps it should not reflect badly on the original exhibitor in green or any of the judges. It could be that exbibitor B's dogs were never good enough to beat exhibitor A's and in the absence of exhibitor A, judges had to put something up, regardless of what coloured suit they were wearing. Perhaps exhibitor B , was the best of the rest.

Advice Needed For Trimming Dogs Nails
WreckitWhippet replied to Huntia's topic in General Dog Discussion
Muzzle the dog and tie him up to a post so he can't back away from you. Start with the back feet and pick them up as though you are trimming a horses feet. For the front, let him back to the end of the lead and then lift his foot and cut his nails. Get in , get the job done and don't take crap from him. -
I've got Staffords and they are certainly the breed to road test crates . Had no worries with the pens with the lids either.
-
I have all pet one's and they are crap, I ordered two at once and wish I didn't. The best buys have been the crates off Vebo. I've got about 9 of those and they are excellent, as are their puppy pens with lids

Never fear, myself and the girl I work with, eat all of the dogs foods. We won;t however do true blue or barko, we've drawn the line there LOL

I would not recommend deer antler for an SBT, they are hard and there's the risks of grinding teeth down, breaking or fracturing them. I know there's the argument that they can grind their teeth down on tennis balls etc, but you really need to look after your SBT's mouth the best you can, as any broken teeth ( especially canines and molars ) result in very painfull and major surgery.

Dry Food For Golden Retriever Puppy
WreckitWhippet replied to jamesn184's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Well the breeder told me that red meat would make her constipated and shorten her life span... Too much bone will make a dog constipated and no, red meat will not shorten a dogs life span. -
whole lamb necks, roo tails and lamb flaps, they can be used as a meal and entertainment. I would not give a Stafford any hard bones, they have very powerful jaws and then can wear the teeth down and also fracture them. Stay away from any weight bearing bones as Pers suggested. It's not uncommon for Staffords to break teeth while eating and playing and anything you can do to reduce that, is better than the painfull surgery that comes with removing them.
-
You start with bone that they can consume and keep it that way throughout their lives. Puppies you can start with chicken necks, wings and carcass portions. They can usually handle them fine. You can also try some lamb flaps. As the pups gets older the pieces get bigger, to reduce the risk of choking and also they are a good size to exercise the jaws and provide an extra activity for the dog. Some things that you can use, when age appropriate are lamb flaps whole or half lamb necks rabbits whole or half chicken carcass, wings, half chooks roo tails (a 5 or 6 inch piece ) They become meals in themselves and you can rotate between the red and white meats

Have a look at the Sighthound collars. In particular the one's made by Blackdog, they are perfect for Pointers and so are many of the Greyhound collars in the larger sizes. http://www.blackdog.net.au/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=1&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=5&vmcchk=1&Itemid=5 Also the Rogz limited slip/ half check collars are excellent http://www.rogz.com/home.htm http://www.ozpetshop.com.au/product_info.php/products_id/1943 or if you want to go upmarket http://www.hideandcollars.co.uk/collar3.htm or if you want practical, cheap and made to measure these guy will do them for you. I have the lined ones for my Hounds . There service is excellent and they have made them to size for my Whippets and SBT's. The widths are great on them http://www.justgreyhounds.com/elitegreyhound.html

Because purebed dogs are for the most part, bred to a standard. That standard covers type and temperament, they are more likely to grow up looking like and behaving like the dog the owner purchased. It's not to say that every pedigree dog will be perfect or suit its owner but given some have been bred for hundreds of years for their specific look, temperament and ability, it's more likely. There is also a greater chance, that if you buy from an ANKC registered breeder, or even a BYBer who knows well and understands a certain breed, that you will also get some back up support. It's not be sheer luck, that pedigree dogs are not found in huge numbers in pounds. As a breeder, I'm certainly not afraid of a level playing field and certainly laws that apply to one, should apply to another but when you really get down to it, many of the laws enacted are not in the best interests of my dogs or breeding programs.
-
yes so true, at one point I was getting 10 calls a day for my Shepherd litter and with so many nice families its going to be sad when I can't offer them a pup. There is no over population of pure breed dogs .And it's good that people need to go on a waiting list .There is an over population of animals from Farming and BYBers.Just look at the page after page of animals ,especially cats up for adoption at pounds and shelters; not counting the ones that have already been put to sleep,or the ones that won't be adopted and then will be put to sleep. You don't have to go on a waiting list to get a mixed breed there are still more of them than there are people wanting to adopt them.I would call this an over population. again this is not true, puppy farmers and most BYBer's don't have any trouble in selling or giving away their pups. The dogs find themselves in pounds because they are unwanted for whatever reason, be it behavioural, not developing into what the owner thought it would, not suitable for their lifestyle, sick or it's too much trouble to bail them out. There are litters that end up in pounds but they are in the minority, compared to the number of litters bred each year.

Ah but Purdie you missed the trap. You cant have laws for one group and not another - its against the law. So anything we make "them" do we also have to be stuck with ourselves. But guess what - not all of us are the good guys either. What we are making them do is; to do the same as we -registered breeders- are already doing. So yes everyone -will- then be under the same laws. Registered breeders for the most part aren't breeding and keeping dogs by those guidelines. Many choose to raise and keep their dogs in vastly differnt ways, to what we are told we should be doing.
-
There is no dog "overpopulation " problem, just ask anyone who's on a waiting list , has waited years or cannot find a pup for sale in their breed of choice. There is an unwanted dog problem but let's not confuse that with excessive breeding, dogs are largely unwanted because they do not live upto owners expectations.

Have you tried it? Why didn't you like it? Do you have a list of the ingredients I could look further into? Thanks. Wish I took a photo on my phone of the bad when I was in the store. I always like to do a lot of research before trialling new things ;) No need to try it, the bag was enough for me.
