Nope

The answer is simple. Put her in a puppy pen or a crate and night, give her something to chew on and be done with it. Each time you allow her to chew something else, the habit becomes harder for you to break. I think you'd rather whinge, than actively do something about the yapping, destructive monster that you have created.

Unless you're 6 feet under in water or the lightening is bad, then there's no excuses for not putting the leash on and taking your dogs out. A simple thing like a couple of towels, usually does the trick when you come home wet. To be honest the behavioural issue can be directly attributed to lazy owners. Buy some repelx or other insect repellent and protect your pets, it's not rocket science.

It's not difficult to show 4 breeds, the only issue is when the rings clash. It might be hard for some to manage a pack, when they have more than one breed or even a few of the same. Everyone's different. Some do well with breeding one breed, others can manage and do well with more. Some people have no idea and can't get it right with one show dog, let alone breeding full stop

Cut the third meal out. Get rid of the veg and the cooked rice and feed her raw for one meal and your dry with some sardine or whatever mixed through for the next. Take what you are feeding her now and halve it and see how she goes on that, once she starts to eat it all, then increase the amounts. She'll eat a lot more when she's having a growth spurt and usually less when she's teething.

Those who suggest basic obedience as a test for function/temperament, what does "basic obedience " mean to you. My idea of an obedient dog is one that does as it's taught then told. None of my dogs sit, but they all have commands for coming and going from the house, get to their crates, go in their kennel, get up, get down, stand, heal, steady, watch, fetch, leave it and the list goes on. They aren't going to pass a "basic obedience " test and once again, I have no interest in teaching them to sit to appease the masses.

I'm not interested in having my Staffords hang off a flirt pole, in order to prove that they can go 10 rounds. I could set one up to spar but there'd be complaints about that. There wouldn't be too many about that aren't fit for function. My Whippet would probably look at you like an idiot if you tried to get her to chase a plastic bag, she has no worries in running down prey though, she catches her own rabbits and pluckts ducks and other birds from the air. Same with my Borzoi, there aren't any wolves around but he's got the power to take something that big down.

Farewell To A Very Special Doler
WreckitWhippet replied to SkySoaringMagpie's topic in General Dog Discussion
I can't believe she's gone. She was just starting out and had so much to give. I can remember her first day in the ring, with the Hound that did anything but show. RIP Tara -
That's exactly what happened to my Staffords and to some others that have used it. They went from being loaded with muscle and ripped for Specialty shows, to less than ideal. If you want to keep muscle on your dogs, you could give Royal Canin a go, mine look super on that and also Canidae

I see nothing to indicate an SBT cross at all. What he immediately reminded me of, is a young Greyhound cross.

For the sake of your own sanity and to give the dog some peace, have him put to sleep, rather than shuffled back to a shelter, rehomed and set up for failure once again. Not that you have failed but honestly I have no idea why people endure what they endure, it's not in their best interests and some dogs are better off given their wings .

That's not acceptable behaviour either

Does Anyone Else's Dog Get Sick When Wormed?
WreckitWhippet replied to trinabean's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Yes, my Whippet gets quite ill after worming. I've found that I can use Paratak all wormer on her. It might be worht investigating a few wormers. I only worm her every 6 months -
Would you say that I have nothing to worry about ? Honest question here

beats the hell out of me why they need to pay a $500 fee and be subject to inspections. Those that are well set up will simply shell out the $$ and continue on their merry way. Those that are breeding pups in the sticks, with no visitors will continue to do so and there will be nothing in the petition that will help any dogs that live in such places, who may happen to be in less than ideal conditions. Those who are breeding in substanard conditions, can already be inspected and prosecuted by the RSPCA at any time and everyone can be subject to council inspection. Now watch the magical number of puppies be drawn in the sand in the coming months and the registered breeders cop yet another flogging. People who sign such petitions are idiots

What Constitutes A "pit Bull Terrier"
WreckitWhippet replied to GABBA's topic in General Dog Discussion
In VIC and NSW any dog without ANKC papers, that comes under scrutiny, can be declared a restricted breed, unless the owner can satisfactorily prove otherwise. -
What Sports Ect Is Your Breed Good At
WreckitWhippet replied to wantsapuppy's topic in General Dog Discussion
If belching, farting and generally being obnoxious was a sport, the Stafford would win that one hands down. Naturally the Greyhound excels in the sport or racing. Most Sighthounds are very good at coursing and in general catching things. -
Rescue Greyhound Toileting Inside At Night
WreckitWhippet replied to Leema's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
what times are you feeding him ? -
This.
-
Nope, I own a breed because I want to own it. I'm not worried about how long they live, but rather the quality of life that they have.
-
Butch could have and should have been registered. They broke the law and the dog is now paying the price. Butch could have been registered as whatever breed or cross his owners believed him to be.
-
I'm not sympathetic towards anyone who doesn't chip and register their dog where required. They could have easily avoided the situation by registering Butch when he was a puppy. Sure the Council may still have come knocking, checking that dogs were registered in the area. Had he been registered as a staffy cross, amstaff cross or whatever he is, then they could have at least dislpayed that they were law abiding and the dog had not been in trouble during his life. They opted not to register him until it was too late and raised council suspicions by meaving it til the last minute.

New Vic Microchip Advertising Rules
WreckitWhippet replied to Sir Sniffalot's topic in General Dog Discussion
and we're set to introduce the same in NSW. I'm hoping I can get to the meeting in Orange and use examples such as this, as to why it's not going to work.
